Houston Witness Shoots ATM Robber
bit.ly/2CHLudt
You know how I always say that you are your own first responder? Well, sometimes, another citizen with a gun can be your first responder.
I have always felt that people standing with their back to the world in front of a box that spits out money if you push the right buttons is a robber's wet dream. That's why I avoid using ATMs as much as possible. To me, it's like putting a sign on your back saying, "Please rob me."
I love the fact that an armed citizen was able to come to the rescue of another person. Nobody ever talks about these types of situations, but they happen more often than you think.
That's why the most recent Second Amendment Supreme Court ruling was so important.
It essentially gave the right to carry a gun for protection and the protection of others to people who live in states where their government made it virtually impossible to get a concealed carry license.
A lot of these defensive gun use stories happen in pro-gun states because the people in these states are allowed to carry a firearm.
You don't hear about these defensive gun use cases in anti-gun states because the only people who have guns on them are the criminals and the police.
The main stream media ignore stories about citizens with guns defending themselves and overload you with stories of criminals victimizing citizens because they want to sell you the illusion that you can only be a victim and can't defend yourself against criminals.
Having a population of legal gun owners doesn't stop the police from doing their job, but gun control does stop citizens from being able to effectively protect themselves.
Speaking of protection. Some self defense shootings are so clear cut that you'll never see the inside of a cop car much less a court room, but there are some cases where an anti-gun prosecutor who is overly eager to make an example out of a gun owner will still try to prosecute you for defending yourself.
That's why I work with USCCA because I believe they have the best all-around membership on the market for self defense insurance. But even if you don't choose USCCA, choose something because you might be alone if you ever have to defend yourself, but you don't have to be alone through the legal process.
I think USCCA is the best, which is why I work with them, and they do offer my followers special FREE bonuses to become a member with a 365-day money-back guarantee.

Gas stations, grocery stores, outside your house, INSIDE YOUR HOUSE, Work, School and the middle of damn no where you could get robbed. Besides Some stores won't let you get over $100 out and some stores just may not have that availability at all. So some people have to use the ATM.

@@handsometall28 Not according to Dr. Kleck, PhD. The most unreported act with guns in America is armed self-defense: anywhere from 300,000 to 2,000,000 annually. Unreported for a variety of reasons: no shots fired is the biggest, which happens in something like 95% of all of those instances, according to his peer-reviewed research (i.e., just brandishing the weapon stopped the crime, so most folks don't bother to call the police at that point, apparently). The annual average total of deaths by guns, from ALL categories, runs about 30,000...so even if you take the lowball number of 300,000 self-defense uses annually, that's still 10 times as many lives protected/saved by guns in civilian hands in the USA than deaths. Guns do more good than bad, period.

I can bust a window be in your vehicle and on top of you before you know it, which you should be moving away from me to get your HIT HIT's off. Because you're paying attention out of the driver's side you're likely to see them coming up from behind, yet not from the passenger side. Just a suggestion/consideration. Been there. Stopped an Armed Robbery back in 2009. Draw speed determined if I lived or died. People, practice that draw speed from concealment! it's more important than that fast mag change you practice night and day. Mag changes are very rare in self defense situations. Drawing your firearm from concealment... happens every day

This is a great story. A fellow citizen coming to the aid of another who is in trouble. We definitely need more of these brave actions. The problem is, with our horrible legal system, that no good deed goes unpunished these days. I really hope this good samaritan will not be charged with a crime or face a ridiculous lawsuit.

Seeing how he only shot him in the leg and foot...there won't be much " they " can do to him. The big question is...will he be released on his own recognizance, when he gets extradited back to Louisiana... for those murder charges.

If I got sued, I would tell his lawyer that a man with nothing to lose is dangerous. Interpret that any way you wish.

@@dannysmith4447 No, the felon can still sue in this jacked up country. In England they get one thing right, you sue and lose, you have to pay the legal fees of the defendant. Lawyers over there do not take cases on a "Contingency fee", only get paid if they win. They don't have the Ghetto lotto, ambulance chaser lawyers.

I remember when ATM's first became a thing. You had to use your card to get into a secured area before you made your transaction. Bad guys figured out pretty fast that any card would get you in. Criminals will always find a way to be criminals. It's up to us to stop them when they do their crimes. Police are only going to file a report.
