If we're not counting Black ships, I think it was the Prinz Eugen, which I only just picked up last year sometime tbh. But I bought Masachusetts Black just before Massa left the armory. Big fan btw.

The first T8 was actually the free Takao. I mean, it was a "special" ship back then, but still counts. And I agree, it's a real solid performer, it was pretty cool when they made it a real premium. :D Gotta say, I recently got Kii in the container they gave away in Prime, and I'm finding it really fun with the secondary build, actually better than Zieten IMO.

This was mine as well, I remember I got it shortly before I stopped playing the game for some time and never really played her. Got back into the game after a few years and it was a nice surprise to see it as a premium. It is the only ship I own that I get comments on, a lot of people haven't seen them in game and are wondering what it is and where to get it. She feels pretty balanced with the shorter range (which hurts in this meta) but she can still perform when played well.

Hey Malta, thx for the upload. Big fan btw! My first tier VIII was the ARP Takao which I obtained from a mission from the first ARP collaboration, but I didn't play her much because as I was inexperienced then, I wasn't comfortable playing T8. As I got better at the game, I started playing higher tiers more often and purchased the Tirpitz. Now, years later, I have most of the ships and I'd have to say Le Terrible and Cossack are my favorite T8 premiums.

My first was Atago. Fell in love with Roma when I rushed a yammy from 12 km and did a drive by at .5km Kii, no turtleback like Amagi, better accuracy.

Honestly I play Alabama Bc it’s a NC with a pretty good credit multiplier bc it’s an older premium. And it’s pretty good especially with its hull but a 6k heal it takes a hit. I’d get it if u like American BBs.

Tirpitz is my first t8 premium. Great ship. I want the Atago and Le Terrible because I’m farming all the French destroyers and they are really fun if you enjoy kiting and shooting.

One advantage to the Mainz that you didn't mention is its great shell dispersion. I only play German and Dutch ships ( and only have 2 premiums that I play) however the Mainz has the best dispersion of any ship I have. When you can put all 12 shots from one salvo on a DD, they don't last very long. It is a "glass cannon", all you have to do is shoot at it but if you ignore it, it can take down BBs

My first tier 8 premium was the Hornet. Say what you will about it, but I love the history and I enjoy the bombers. For me it would be great if they made the Wasp too. Smaller than the Yorktown Class, but it had the first deck edge elevator, which for game purposes could make the air groups be available faster. Even better, imagine this, you could get 2 versions. An Atlantic or Malta version where it gets Spitfire Mark V fighters. A Pacific version where it gets Avengers and Dauntlessness.

My first premium was Derpitz, love playing that ship. But Atago is my favourite T8 and by far my most played ship in whole game, only one I have 600+ battles.

Atago and Tirpitz was my first T8 premiums. I remember when Tirpitz was released. OMG there where common to have 4-5 Tirpitz ships on each team. :-) I love both ships and play them a lot, but Tirpitz has been power creaped. Atago however is s still one of the best non OP premium ships you can buy. Very sneaky and deadly when played well.

in one month i got 3 ships right before removing them, first georgia for coal, next massachusets for doubloons and alaska for free exp but since tier 9 has the best machmaking and earns more i don't play my mass too much but it's still a nice, fun to play ship, especially when they are battles / battle events of the same tier. BTW on massa i got my exp record

I once was in a battle with my Blyskawica(anyone who says this ship is bad, say it to my torps) and I was following a a Tiger 59, I didnt and do not know the player but I made a sacrife to save him. I will never forget that moment.

My first T8 premium ship was the Mikhail Kutuzov. Back then there was no smoke firing penalty. I can literally smoke fire a BB 3km away then torp it and take no damage in the end

it was kidd and mainz that i chose when i was starting and well, since i was clueless, i got meh result in mainz and got smashed in kidd but now, i get pretty good result in those and i am happy with my decision )))

Bought Alabama first, I have some of the other t8 ships (including Massachusetts and Lenin) too. But I like Alabama most, I can torp beat with it, it gets the best torp protection after Yamato, almost as accurate as NC but I can use Hasley without dedicated captain like Massachusetts needs. If situation gives, I can do drive by without getting 1 shotted like NC because underwater citadel like Massachusetts. It doesn't excel at any specific job but very good at every situation it encounters. For CV, got Kaga from container free, it is disgustingly op in my idea. I got tier 3 cv emblem (average 84000 over continuous 100 games) just by playing kaga and torpedo divers. For a potato like me, it should not happen and I feel something wrong. Kaga is the best t8 carrier for sure.

Borodino is a beast. It has the Stalingrad gimick (farther you are the more accurate your guns are). It obliterates cruisers and BBs alike who show broadside. The radar is great for catching DDs sneaking up on you. The key is positioning. If you are not having a good time in it then you need to learn to position better. How do I know? I have 200 games in it, mostly got uptiered and have 93k avg damage in it with a winrate of 60%.

I was a potato piece of crap and bought tons of 8s but didn't play them, idk my first. I think Jean Bart with fear of fomo but she was removed over a year after that, then I got Atago which was my first actual 8, then it spiraled out of control. Massa is still probably my fav. Know I picked up fast to remove ships like Enterprise. From there I whaled and got all of em. Get massa from black friday, atago from shop, weimar for narai farming efficiently, and quit. Save your coal for T9 money makers, then use coal n steel to purchase T10s for ranked and you should be preem.

My first tier 8 ship was Bayard as i got it from Spanish's WoWs channel in a contest where well... few participants and stuff were an advantage, was so happy when i got it BUT... My favorite tier 8 ship is cossack... Its literally overpowered i would say... if u wanna fight me with it i can: 1. Outspot you for whatever reason.. i expected atleast 6.5km concealment or something 2. Outgun you cause why not, 8 guns with 4.85 sec reload 3. Outtrade you because yeah, i got really good consumables, its a forgiving ship and im a DD main so i can make it work nicely

Vanguard is actually a pretty good ship. Just play it as a battlecruiser that it is in real life, not a battleship. It has weak armor like any British BB but its maneuverability is god tier. Its rudder is better than many heavy cruisers and I dodge shells all day long with it. Accuracy of the guns are above average with a sigma 2.0. It has short fuse so, it has less overpens on cruisers.

Last game I played it in, it was T10 MM, I had a 220k game, with a dev strike on a mino, and I got to beat a conq and a thunderer in a 2vs1, still not interested in it as much as others.

My first T8 was Alabama back when she released. She was an excellent training wheels premium BB and I would still recommend her to new players since she will make you some good credits and teach you the basics without being a gimmick filled mess. Experienced players, yeah sure, she's boring and basic, look elsewhere.

How is wargamings policy regarding nerfs right now, can/do they nerf Broken Ships like Kaga/Mainz or are they only nerfing ships with the "this ship can be nerfed if necessary tag"? The Mainz sounds kinda appealing but I hate to buy ships just for them to get nerfed into oblivion soon after I buy them.
