@@JesusChrist-wh2gd If they are absolutely refusing to return your diploma, I would call the police. First go up the the recruiters office and ask for your diploma. "Hey I was here not too long ago trying to join, but I have changed my mind and I would like my diploma back." If they give it back, "Thank you for your time." and leave. If they say no, and without a valid reason, then I'd call police right there. As far as I am aware, that is theft. You are no longer in the process of joining the marines, they have no right or reason to keep your diploma.

@@archerj.maggott1372 the old BDUs would start to look more like the environment they got dirty in. The ACUs started off looking like mint-chocolate chip ice cream and then faded into a greenish-white. They stood out in all environments. @Ezonial
@Ezonial 4 жыл бұрын
It's even worse than that, the army developed all the digital uniforms, in multiple color patterns to include the woodland and desert marpat, but because the USMC issued and used them first, the leadership at the time didn't want to use those, because they wanted each branch to be distinct, which is stupid when it comes to combat camouflage, where the goal is to blend in, not stick out. That's why all the branches had different color patterns of the digital camo, because the "big brains" at the top felt it was more important for each branch to look different... In a combat environment...

Imagine getting this garbage and then seeing a Canadian soldier who's digital pattern is based on satellite photos analysing the statistically dominant colour proportions in the intended theater of operation and has remained unchanged for the past forty years, except for 2001 when they made a desert variant. That's why you don't allow defence contractors to add planned obsolescence to you military hardware.

Maxime CADPAT was first issued in the Temperate Woodland pattern in 1996 as a helmet cover and a camouflage net. It became standard issue in 2002 along with the Arid Regions pattern. Prior to then we had only worn a plain Olive Drab Green coloured uniform since the 60’s.

Alot of it is also the cut/material of the uniform. The OG UCP/ACUs had an awful cut, so they often did not properly fit the soldiers well. Over time the Army started to refine the uniform a bit. The cut of the 2015-16 OCP/ACUs is much better. Now they are roling out the hot weather or tropical climate OCP/ACUs and those have the best fit yet

Let me shine some experience on yall. During daylight hours on asphalt, concrete and sand a formation of soldiers is more or less an obscure blob at a distance of a few hundred meters. I've seen it. During night time on asphalt, concrete, and sand, especially with moonlight, a formation of soldiers is damn near unnoticeable if you are not using night optics. The pixelated pattern is to make vehicle optics less effective at an approximate range of 500 meters. Obviously if you are next to a brick building or within a LOS of 200 meters camouflage patterns dont work without concealment. I appreciated the pattern for its purpose but the idea of "universal" is just about impossible for all patterns.

A few years back while attending a international recon exercise in the UK. I (Dutch) was grouped together with Brits and US recce guys for setting up a observation post in a wooded area. Our commander of the mixed unit was assigning roles to the squads and said to the Americans: “I want you guys in the rear positions (200m back) manning the radios, cause with that “camo” they’re gonna see us right away” - the Americans, who normally are the loudmouths and run the show, where very quiet that exercise.
