Hello Guys, what a treat to watch this and see that you got the Barbie book, written by Greg LaVoi! He was the very first person that I worked with in Hollywood. I was still a student in design school, so he hired me to create all his patterns and sew them up. At the time, he was designing for Country Western singers, like Reba McIntyre when she was still doing the rodeo circuit (this was 1983. I'm now dating myself). He even encouraged me to draw up ideas, and he used one for Rosanne Cash's Grammy awards. He went on to design many a film and TV show, but his first love was always Barbie. And you know my story! So I can't wait to see you again for the Antarctic cruise. As we say in Portugal, "Bejinhos!" (little kisses). Dorothy Bulac-Eriksen

I remember the flatsee doll here in America back in the 60's. I don't remember much of the television commercial but the jingle from the commercial went like this: Flatsee Flatsee their flat and that's that. Then there's a pause in the jingle and the jingle says. AND THATH'S THAT. Really loud.

I’m with you in that I enjoy thinking about and planning all the things (craft projects, house renovations/additions, etc.) almost as much as the finished product! Thinking about wall color, for instance. I’m glad Arne chose a yellow for his studio that will make him happy. And the linen/laundry/flower room for Carlos. What a great idea! Not dollhouses, but I wonder if you have ever visited the Thorne miniature rooms at the Art Institute in Chicago. I think you would love them!

Lots of garden chat in this one, enjoyed it. Did you get to meet Fergus at Great Dixter? Things in our TX garden are also two weeks or so early... thanks climate change & global warming. I saw that the Queen's dollhouse was on display and wondered if you got to see it - of course you did! I've only seen it in a very old book, probably when it was on display back in the 80s. Carlos, I think you should call your laundry/linen room the FLAX room... and paint it a coordinating color, it is such a beautiful flower. I'd also like to see more of the garden books you acquired on your trip. AND to see your niece's greenhouse when they finally get the Valdres roses installed. Good luck with all your spring projects! 🤍💮🤍

I really enjoyed your video boys, especially all the doll chat. I’m so delighted that you’re interested in getting more Blythe dolls. I only have two Licca chan dolls, but I doubt that mine are authentic. I would love a new in box Licca chan doll myself. Plus I’ve bought quite few Licca chan bodies online to use on my none authentic Blythe dolls, as I really like the licca chan bodies on some of them. I’ve also put the head of one of my authentic Blythe dolls on a Licca chan body. I am so excited about your licca knitting book, as I know the Jumpers will fit my Blythes too. Many of my Barbies, Harry Potter and other dolls are in storage at the minute but after my studio renovation I can get them back out. I could do with a separate doll room too. 😆 The knitting you showed is gorgeous, I love your prison story and the Rose and I will look forward to your cooking video and other members stuff. I think you chose a good week to be in England, as the rain and storms came after you left. I had to wade through water on my driveway.

I think we saw some of the Pennsylvania roses at a gift store in Bagn - in the upstairs (up very steep and narrow stairs!) of the Bangsmoen Husflidutsalg. My husband just checked the photos he took last summer and at that time there were some roses up there, along with some beautiful knitwear (I got some lovely cabled mittens ) and some other nice crafts. Your prison story reminds me of a time (long before cellphones) that my brother and I took a wrong turn in a sketchy NY neighborhood at night. He got out to make a call at a payphone to get directions and I stayed in the car, locked the doors, and told him that if anything happened to him he was on his own and I would drive away! Of course Carlos would never say such a thing to Arne - but before you think I'm heartless, keep in mind that my brother wouldn't listen to me and therefore was the one who got us lost!

Carlos, I agree that any construction project (including painting) creates a disruption to your life. We have had renovations to our two bathrooms and while they were pretty quick (about 2 weeks each), it was extremely annoying to live through the noise and the constant traffic of workers coming and going into the house. I thought I was going to lose my mind each night. Just keep focusing on the wonderful finished product you will have and enjoy for many years to come. Arne' I think you will be much more happy with a yellow work room rather than the red, which is a much heavier color.

I think Arne should write a children’s book about his childhood in the country……..it would be like “Little House on the Prairie “ and we could learn about the old-timey customs that your family was still perpetuating, before they die out completely. And your illustrations would be so charming! Glad you had such a nice prison experience; I live in Kansas City and let a visiting friend talk me into a sightseeing trip to Leavenworth prison. We nearly got shot. Apparently they don’t encourage sightseeing. Although since the outside gate was open and there were no signs I don’t see why I was expected to know that. My motto is: go wherever you can, and apologize later. If you’re still alive.
