I just got new glasses too, needed a new prescription. Just for comparison, I get the rim-less Sillouette brand titanium frames, the lightest lense material that can be drilled into, tri-focal progressive (line-less) with anti-glare & blue light filter coatings, and I think an extra edge grinding treatment to eliminate something, catching light maybe. Anyway...$1,000.00 for lenses and frames. No insurance coverage at my age. Private vision insurance doesn't cover much in the U.S. I think it would break even as far as paid in & the amount covered. They are light as a feather even with my extensive prescriotion. I love them, and oh my, so nice to see so much better. I was 5 months late for my annual exam due to the pandemic.

I meant to write this sooner--right after you "sit and knit..." when you talked about Kate and her Last Homely House channel. It was a delight to hear you talk about her and share how wonderful you found her channel. AND, Kate was thrilled with your shout out about her and the LGS. It was heartwarming to see how surprised and happy she was to learn that you had done that. Such a boost to her as she is slowly making her way back from being so sick this summer. It is good for all our spirits to see and hear such support and fellowship between our youtube "celebrities. :) :) AND then things got even better today when you shared with us viewers your package from Kate. You were like a couple of kids with Christmas stockings :) :) Great fun to watch and a welcome warm fuzzy break of sunshine for us watching. One a totally different note--the fabric behind you today reminded me in both pattern and color of the wallpaper that used to be on our living room walls. A fond memory indeed. @@susanmyrawills while it's good in theory, sometimes LYS just don't exist or are out of the price range for some people. I honestly feel that if a craft is made accessible to more people through a lower price point, then that's great! I can still support my LYS when I want a nice wool or sock yarn, but still go to Walmart to get cheap acrylic yarn for a couch throw.
@susanmyrawills4 жыл бұрын
@@alisoncastaldo136 Yeah, I understand some people aren’t able to allot much for crafting or art supplies into their budget. It’s just that Walmart’s preditory business model is detrimental to entrepreneur spirit and small business. The ad also is deceitful. But I guess that’s what capitalism is all about. They probably did not know HOW their images were going to be used in conjunction with Lion Brand Yarn. I would incourage struggling communities to support charity and independent thrift shops and reuse craft supply venues. I have found good cashmere,wool, cotton,and acrylic sweaters to unravel at thrift stores, as well as bags of various yarns donated from from a departed beloved one’s stash. Hey, we’re all gonna move on someday before reaching the end of our yarn balls.

It’s like the Whos in Whoville who sang even though the Grinch thought he had taken Christmas away. He hadn’t; you can’t dim human spirit. The squares were how I “met” you - the Great Catalyst. They take on a meaning bigger than the sum of their parts. Much gratitude and appreciation to all of your team.

10 years since Christmas ball?!? Wow!!! Congratulations! Not being able to find the book at a decent price in my area, I bought the pattern with 10 patterns on your website. I am far from an expert colour work knitter but Watching Arne helped sooo much. I knit my first one a few days ago. Super fun! 24 new balls - I CAN’T WAIT!!! Please put them out now, even a teaser few, anything!

The horses were beautiful... they were cardboard with fabric or paint on the top... all different.. I have taken the patterns to do with my grandchildren ,if ever we get together again...You lucky chaps having such surprises... A few years ago I knitted your baubles as gift tags for Christmas Presents..It's a bit of a tradition each year I use a different decoration as a gift tag so after the gift is used and gone the decoration remains... Last year it was mini bears, the years before it was hand embroidered hearts..

Thank you for en encouraging the time to sit and be present for a bit. I decided to peel the ginger I used to make ginger simple syrup for snow-cones and homemade soda! Then I turned the pieces into crystallized ginger for holiday baking! 1/2 lb of ginger and 3 1/4 cups of sugar makes 3 recipes to enjoy!

I always give you a thumbs up because i always enjoy your podcast. sit & knit for a bit & drink wine is how i do it this evening. Please continue the knitted blocks. can you imagine how big the knitted blanket will be without any repeat squares if you were to do it for about 2 years. Would be awesome.Congratulations on the TV contract, you guy's deserve it !
