Steve Perry has always been a good mate The problem has always been Neal Schon. He didn't even want Steve Perry in the band to begin with. He didn't like his voice he didn't like the singing style he thought it was soft wasn't hard enough etc Too stupid to realize that they were about to make history. I simply think Neil wanted to always be on tour month after month year after year and Steve’s voice couldn’t handle that. A voice like Steve’s singing day after day will suffer. Look at all the albums. Each one his voice got lower and raspier. A voice isn’t like a guitar. Steve got burned out and knew the voice was suffering even though he could sound great. Even now. The man is smart enough to not look the fool and take criticism like all the other 80’s lead singers are right now sounding awful. He wants his legacy to be the past. You can play a guitar in your late 70’s. Exceptional singing has a short life span relatively speaking

Arnel is a good man. He did his job and did it well. He made millions and if he wanted he could go back to the Philippines with his family and live very comfortably for the rest of his life and not work. Guess these folks never graduated out of high school. And that's not a band, that's a business. They don't care about each other or the music. There is no love or friendship there. There's just no soul. It's all insincere and none of it is genuine. It's all technical, and they are all great performers. With the exception of their greatest hits from way back, I don't know how anyone can connect with this "music" emotionally. Arnel should have left a long time ago to pursue his own music, far away from the drama of these 70-year-old children. "Don't Stop Believing," "Faithfully," "Open Arms," those songs will always be classics, and they'll always be a part of music history, but I'm sorry for saying, I never understood why this band thinks they're as influential as The Rolling Stones or The Beatles. They're just the Boston that made more than one hit. And as for Arnel, I always thought he was like the main character in the movie "Rock Star" from 2001. He can only do himself right by leaving. He has already earned millions, and he's set for life with the royalties. More importantly, he has made a name for himself. It's time for him to pursue things that have soul now.

I would have doubts for Arnel if he doesn’t perform well in all his concert . The journey is in their height of their popularity with Arnel what would they change that? If Arnel doesn’t draw crowds for the band maybe there is reason for him to be replace but this is not the issue. No one will support journey for what they are doing to Arnel . It a very discriminatory Act and selfishness !!! Nope we are not supporting Journey . I had followed you since I was young not anymore. Arnel was the only post-Perry front man who didn't give me the sense that he was singing karaoke. He sounds the most like Perry of all the replacements, which is the irony of it. Its too bad these guys couldn't keep their heads straight and realize bands with iconic singers like Perry who leave for whatever reason rarely get a second bite at the apple. As talented as these guys are and regardless of how much I love this band, Journey still exists today because of Arnel. Period. It really is that simple. I think Neal's Journey Through Time was a great idea and very well executed. Dean C. absolutely killed it on vocals. I would've paid a lot of money to see that lineup and so would millions of others. I think if Neal Schon completely walked away from Journey, kept cashing the royalty checks, which I'm sure are still pretty darn good; and go work on the Journey Through Time thing, I think he would be a lot happier. So, Ironically, I guess what I'm saying is, Neal should walk away from "Journey" so he can concentrate on Journey, if that makes sense. lol But, if he does nothing else in these Autumn years, he should take his acoustic, some good wine and go see his friend Steve Perry one Sunday afternoon. That's what really matters.

Steve turned 75 and how old are the other's. Life has gone by in a blink of an eye. Steve will always be the voice. I love the magic he gives. All his heart goes into his music the older he has gotten the more soltre it has gotten sexy. I just recently found out that sherry that he made that song for passed away at 66. Let’s not forget the other band members have been doing this way longer than he’s been alive so there’s a huge age gap between him and the other members they are way older than he is so I’m impressed that he lasted as long as he did with them 😮 He set out to become famous and he did it with one of the most successful bands in history ❤ Kudos to him ! I'm a huge huge Steve Perry, but this guy Arnel has come in and literally( as the video says) carried journey on his shoulders, decades beyond what their music alone would have carried them. He has become the lifeline of journey and once he's gone, all the band members can pack it up and go home. Because they will not find another one.

You never know what goes on behind closed doors. Neal has a huge ego. And he lets everyone know that he's Journey. Pineda is the first guy that has come close to singing the songs. I love Steve Perry, and I softened toward Pineda. But I never have cared for Neal. I've seen too many interviews that he's done where he credits Journeys success to himself. If that's the case he should do a solo act.

He and Neal Schon even had great chemistry on stage, and Neal specifically credited Arnel with saving the band. Purist? Journey existed before SP. He replaced Robert Fleischman so, your statement makes no sense . With or without a singer, as long as Neal is at the helm, it will always be Journey. SP's voice was the vehicle that took them to global success but, there were 4 outstanding musicians that played the music. Journey is a band, not one individual. SP couldn't sing their catalog of hits he made famous if he wanted to. He'd sound worse than the worst karaoke singer ever and no one wants to hear that version of him. Arnel stepped up against unbelievable pressure and filled the position better than anyone could have- including SP himself. By 2007 his voice was already toast and he knew any attempt to front the band again would be a disaster and would tarnish his legacy and leave everyone disappointed. So, Journey is still Journey thanks to Arnel. And as for him quitting the band, it will never happen. He feels infected to Neal for changing his life. Don't believe everything you hear in a Google short.
