Given the norm of working each body parts twice a week , i would use this routine as my workout B since it will come near the end of the week, and use Workout A for the first arm session of the week, focusing on heavy weights for size and strength .. something along these lines.. barbell curls 3 sets of 8 -10 reps, followed by E Z bar curls for outer heads..3 set of 8-10 reps and that's it for workout A. remember you have a second arm session later in the week, you need time to recuperate. Trust me, doing workout A has heavy and Strick you can possibly do and you will be glad it's only 6 total sets. For triceps workout A i would simply do. either heavy skull crushers or even heavy close grip bench press, followed by heavy standing triceps press for the long head of the triceps,, again 3 sets of 8-10 reps and that's your arm workout 12 total sets.. eat and grow after that. lots of protein, Also keep in mind your arms get indirect work from bench press, overhead press. .reverse close grip pull downs and any kind of rowing exercise.

Arnold, wonderful video! I’m 63 and retired. I spend six days a week at the gym doing cardio and resistance training. Unfortunately, for me, I’m not built like a Viking. I’m of Irish descent, very slight build. Regardless, I’ve had gains, significant gains, but I find that my tendons are the limiting factor along with shoulder issues like impingement. Regardless, lifting is very fun, very rewarding and I enjoy feeling the burn, like you say you know it’s growing when it hurts.

i am 68 and still follow a powerlifting style training and keeping a lot of muscle mass . But as a young stud..lol idid follow Arnold's routine from his encyclopedia of body building book and it did wonders for me, ,however as a natural trainer you need to modify the number of sets. i rarely did more than 2-3 sets per exercises he listed and it worked wonders for me. Now days like i said i follow Wendler,s 5/3/1 for powerlifters and it is a lot of fun even at 68.

I totally agree with Arnold here. There is NO gain without pain. Plain and simple. If you are then you are using someone else to get to where you are and THEY are feeling the burn. And for those you that are, "That's A.I."! It doesn't matter because it's true! I have heard people say, "I work out but I could never look like that." Yes you could but you aren't willing to put the time in to become. "that". I don't have the time, isn't an excuse. You either want it, or you don't, there is nothing in between.

If you train your biceps with your back on Tuesdays and then train them again with your triceps on Fridays, can you achieve the biggest gains with this split, or is it too much training for the biceps? Would it be better to train them only once a week? There’s a lot of conflicting information out there, so I’d like your informed opinion
