Ok look, I'm not an Arnold fan, for a number of reasons, but that means little. This man could walk naked on the moon if you presented it to him as a challenge. There is something about Arnold that I can't get enough of. It's his die hard, achieve anything type of mindset. I'm not sure who reads these comments but for what it's worth; Arnold is the Greatest. Of all time. All I know is that listening to this man makes me want to try harder, push harder, and make no excuses. This is the fundamental thing about Arnold and his training: Be better that you were yesterday because you worked hard for it. Everything else can be left to laziness. Period. #Damnexcuses.

When I started bodybuilding in 1997 I was 16, Arnold made me start my days in the gym and I was the youngest guy in there!. Today's gym goers wear fancy clothes, on their phones, high on weed, over dosed on pre workouts, only drinking protein shakes and still look the same! Your in the gym for a reason! It's not a social club! Your there to build muscle 9ver muscle!

Agree with you a honderd procent brother ..im almost the same age as you and saw everthing changing in the gym over the years .back then we helped each other out also,i had a old bodybuilder as a teacher he saw me running around like a little deer and he asked if he could helped me .nowadays if you ask somebody who look like he doesnt know what the hell he is doing ,they look funny at you and go like what the hell does he know while im 185 lbs and have 13procent body fat and im 44 hahaa and they look like shit ..the whole brother thing feeling in the gym is gone now .they all just wanna make selfies in their new under armour outfits ..but heavy workouts oh hellno ..such a shame

Luis Cardozo the sad thing is you can’t be like the old school bodybuilder now. Unless you compete in classic. Since the massive size of the mr O bodybuilders is what they look for, so the judges need to change

Mad respect for Arnold❤

Interesting thing to note is Arnold says he didn’t want to focus on size. He felt he hand enough size. Now he wanted to focus on sculpting his own body, building definition into his own body to make it more visually appealing. His goal was to look good, which is why he looks good. Now I don’t have anything against modern bodybuilders - they work hard for what they have. However, their goal is different to Arnold’s generation. They work for size, not shape. Which is why many people perceive their bodies to be less aesthetic than the olden days. But in the end, they all deserve respect. They work so hard for what they do, and we are just sitting at home eating junk food talking about unsightly modern bodybuilders are.

Arnold , thank you for all the contributions you’ve given, made, in the many fields you participated in from athletics to entertainment to politics and the philosophy you’ve used for your success.. we all can’t be exactly like you Arnold.. but I love the recipe you gracefully shared with us … I’m over the envy and frustration I felt because I couldn’t look like you … and come to appreciate your suggestions and love you as a human being!

I think without that type of open support, it's possible he may never have reached the heights that he did. He would have still been great, but having a positive group to support him and drive him pushed him to that all-time legendary level.

This vision that he is talking about is "The Law of Attraction", you attract the things into your life whatever you think about. Thoughts become reality.

Nope! You have to think hard, and also read up bulk and cut cycles, that may help for bodybuilding that is.
@realism4183

You're delusional. There is no such thing as the law of attraction. It's as simple as this: If you obsess over something, you're obviously gonna put in more effort, and thus the probability of success will increase. However, thinking about it won't guarantee success by any meansl; that's the fallacy you make. You can crave something as much as you like, but that does not mean you will get it. Though success is dependant upon your effort, it is also dependant on external factors which are not in your control. In bodybybuilding you have to have the right genetics. Now tell me how "the law of attraction" solves that. One would have to believe that thought alters DNA for it to be true. With that being said, stop lying to people; tell the truth because it is much more conducive to success.

In his book, "The New Encyclopedia of Modern Bodybuilding", he calls them posing trunks. Yea I don't like the thong look either. I guess it's so you can get a better look at the symmetry and definition of the glutes but that seems a bit extreme for my taste.

One thing I always appreciated about Arnie is that he wasn't afraid to have an uncomfortable expression on his face while he's lifting. Whenever I lift a heavy weight I get this dumb, stretched look on my face. So many people at the gym want to look good and sexy while they lift, at the expense of a strenuous workout. Arnold didn't care. He was all about the weights.

They should teach this in Schools. Not because everyone should be a body builder or weight lifter. Because any goal or achievement are possible with the right mindset & focus. It shows just what a dedicated human being can achieve. I also believe that going to the gym just as a novice weight lifter like myself improves everything in life from your ability to think more clearly to physically ability at work & general fitness.
