Can someone tell me what Arnold is? I'm studying animation and use After Effects, Maya and ZBrush, but I've never heard of Arnold.

I'm guessing it's the render engine they used to render these animations. So say you work on a 3d program (like 3dsmax, Blender and so on) you create your models, and then animate them. Everyone of those programs has an renderer within them that takes calculations of the lighting and colours and frames to create a clip.All these renderers give different results as they are made differently.You can take ur animation and render them in another renderer like Arnold hence producing such results.

ca cest vraiment le master des moteurs de rendu super efficace simple et surtout rapide par rapport a vray et pas une complexite de menus a nen plus finir pour des reglages a qualite egale cest le meilleur !!!! domage pour moi qu il ne fonctionne pas en sequence mais en image seule - subblime ARNOLD -

Arnold is really most natural and realistic and doesnt feel like rendering. Most of the movies I watched and felt real are arnold

For character work, Arnold is one of mi favorite renders, is absolutely amazing. but for backgrounds i honestly much prefer other renders because in that area i personally find Arnold Renderer extremely slow, specially for interiors. Hopefully it will be faster in the future for that as well.

what configuration CPU should I use to get a render in Arnold. I mean right now my configuration is 500GB Hard-disc, 2GB Graphics card and 8GB ram and the rendering in Arnold is killing me and the day i started using Hypershade for texturing i literally took a nap as the system rendered a frame (a single frame). any suggestions?
