Side question, with AAC 75 and 77gr "match" ammo being not much more expensive than 55gr ball, would you see yourself switching to the "better" ammo?

I think it depends on situation. It’s not super match ammo but it punches extremely above it’s price. I love the 75 grain load

Im rocking RNVG's as my first set of binos. Im a big fan of flipping my nods down and them being exactly where they need to be every time. They also come in a bit cheaper as well. Out of all the nods ive used though so Pvs-14, Pvs-31, Panobridged 14's, Arnvg and RNVG, The RNVG lineup is my favorite by far.
@angryandroid3 ай бұрын
I like that the ARNVG has the LEMO port so I could use my old LPBP from my ANVIS, which then acts as a counterweight.

1:15 the purpose of that is so in a damp or humid environment moisture doesn’t settle on the lenses like it would if they were pointed up and because it’s easier to keep track of where your nods are and not bump them getting in and out of vehicles and thru tight spaces
@novagroup23 ай бұрын
I think it's more so that you can quickly activate the nods during day operation when stepping indoors or something. Because of the auto/off/on on pod rotation, you don't even need to press the on button.

Honestly I kinda like where the bungee/clips are on the rnvg-a for the reason that it automatically stows them. I can see why someone would dislike them but they work for my use.

Annoyed I didn't get tan but got some 4G 2200 FOM High Gain tubes in mine and it's a really nice combo. Articulation is a must in modern goggles, especially if you plan on spending a lot of time with the them in the 'stowed' position as you mentioned. The only thing so far that annoys me about these is the weird tether loop locations, which you also mentioned. I ended up finding some mini black key rings to add a bit more movement with some mini black carabiners for easier and more secure attach/detach. A velcro mounted tethering system with less stretchy bungee has also helped reduce the stowing force and move the direction of pull to make it smoother
@novagroup23 ай бұрын
yeah the tether location sucks ass. It's also instantly obvious the first time you use it. So I'm not sure how that passed muster. Lack of low battery indicator is odd. Also thanks, I'll keep that in mind. Might try it.

You should do a video kind of going over your thoughts on boutique calibers: pros and cons, arguments to run one, arguments against. I like my 6.8spc. Better ballistics than 556, range, etc. My thought is either I’m a better shot, or I’m not. If I am the better shot, loot drop is a thing. If I’m not, then it’s a moot point anyways. 🤷♂️
@ALovelyBunchOfDragonballz3 ай бұрын
Boutique calibers have the same problem now that they've always had: logistics. Amd in the short run, margin improvements might be useful, but in the long run having common ammunition wins out.

Has nothing to do with being high speed. Rolling with them articulated keeps a more balanced distribution of weight. When you tilt them up you get more concentrated focus of gravitational force pulling down and strains your neck more.
@novagroup23 ай бұрын
not really. nods folded up, and flat, are closer to the center of mass, then folded down and flat by almost 2 inches. The logic is the nods can be set to standby (off when rotated flat) and quick put into action by pivoting down 1 pod. Useful when going into a dark building without power during the day.

@@novagroup2 lol love when youtube guys get day 1 shit wrong. He's right flipped up nods give some dudes forehead migraines. running them down but flipped out lets the counter weight or battery pack balance it across the head. Might not be YOUR experience, but some of us have data from being around 50 or 100 dudes all running kit. You learn the how and why alot better than just being 1 guy larping. This is why you see dudes standing around in the day time like that, wish is was about being fast and cool but its not. When you are fast and cool you run the mount all the way up and tilt down for always on binos and then burn your tubes up when you forget they are on and your looking into headlights talking and go get a new set
