Super sick flight Ryan! Thanks for leaving the failed take off as it does help for set ups. Out of all the videos that you posted with Capt. Mike and Bobby K, this one has to take the cake with the sick winds and no gyro. I don't fly my jets with a gyro, but I don't have the guts to fly in 20+ mph winds either. You're the man, my brother. God bless and keep on doing what you do for the hobby. It's greatly appreciated.

I am loving the paint scheme on this bird. Sounds great! I can’t wait for a flight with less wind but it seemed to handle it just fine. Hey Ryan, my Mig 29 is not powering up. I've check all my connections. No joy. The jet is beeping once I hook up battery, but that's it. No light on the receiver. The receiver worked fine when I powered it with my Apprentice. Thanks, Vince The light is on the pc board for the nav lights. Interesting. On my apprentice, I'm getting voltage across the red and brown wire to the receiver(middle to outside) but on my Mig, the voltage is across the orange/yellow and the brown wire to the receiver(outside to outside). The black and white wires from the esc are connected to the outer most wires on the connector(orange/yellow and the brown).

Definitely cutting the back springs but believe now it will fly off grass easier than the SU
@iefly4 жыл бұрын
It's a really good looking plane. Gutsy of you to do the maiden in those conditions. Nose heavy on a 4000 all the way back kinda sucks. I only have 5000s, but I'm not afraid to add tail weight to get the Cg right ( added 3 ounces on the very back of my FW Mirage). Getting the Cg right makes a huge difference in takeoffs and landings on these EDFs. I fly from a good grass field, we see no trouble with EDFs as small as 70mm singles. I gotta say though that this plane doesn't look like it'd do too well on our field, that nose gear looks to be too softly sprung. On a grass field that really drags the nose down to a negative angle of attack. I've also watched the videos on the Hobbyzone site and the plane doesn't look particularly fast and vertical performance also appears to be lacking a bit. It sure would be pretty in a slow, high alpha fly by though. I'd sure like to see a video made on a calmer day, with no armaments, from a grass strip if you could manage it one day, with special attention to showcasing straight line speed and vertical performance. Great honest job on your videos, you always show the bad as well as the good. If I buy one of these, and it's very, very tempting, I'll order through your link. Dave
@snoriverrc38422 жыл бұрын
First off, OUTSTANDING landing for those conditions. That said, you really need to re-visit this plane on a calm day and give it fair chance. You couldnt do any of the things a normal wring-out shows, rolls, inverted, high speed passes, etc. That was crazy to even fly in. Over 20k views! What??? Is this the Flite Test channel?

Great job handling that bird in the wind. I was wondering about how she handled and I know there was wind but watching it seems super sensitive on any slow flight. I will definitely be watching for non windy flying before I buy this one. I'd love to see how well she handles grass to.

Some slick flying Ryan. A beautiful plane for sure. Still can't get my head around flying an enemy plane. :) I do have hope though that some company will come out with an affordable F14. If they can do the twin Mig at that price, surely they can do the twin Tomcat. Vince

Not a good plane at all... Can't belive you leave that failed take off in your video!... sketchy plane to fly... I wouldn't buy this plane at all. Your landing was just ok, but not silky smooth... Thumbs up for your video! 👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾 Greetings from Douglas, Arizona 👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾🌵🇵🇷😷
@PilotRyanMedia4 жыл бұрын
What other plane would handle a maiden in a 20mph crosswind without any stabilization as well. The first take off is a lesson that the book won’t give. Up elevator at neutral and take off flaps or prepare to stay down. I leave it in for discerning pilots to learn from. Slick polished corporate videos don’t help folks.
@ricardopr544 жыл бұрын
@@PilotRyanMedia Still to complicated for my taste...I ordered an A-10 instead... The smaller eflite 64mm one... That one isn't as complicated... Up elevator at neutral to me doesn't sound right!... Another thing, I wouldn't fly my planes under those wind conditions... I don't have that much money to keep repairing them or buying more every time I crash one...👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾

Yes and not uncommon for edfs to have up at neutral. I don’t design them just sort them out. Book didn’t mention neutral settings and even noseheavy I’m within the cg range as stated. This will give folks something to go on
