Art Alchemy Metallique Waxes and Distress Oxide Ink Backgrounds

So, this little experiment went well. Sometimes they DON'T. And the fragrance of these magical waxes? Heavenly.
After going bonkers and buying a whole ton of Metallique Waxes, I just had to see how they would work with my other recent insanity: Distress Oxide Inks. The results? YUM.

Hello, maahi Singh! Thank you for watching...and actually, NO, it's not necessary to seal the waxes prior to applying on any object. I chose to seal these panels because of the Distress Oxide Inks, which are water soluble. The Metallique Waxes alone are permanent. xox

Hey Kimberly! Not really - just choose a cardstock that isn't too flimsy. I just use the cheap stuff (Recollections) from Michael's, usually. xox

That's a good question, my friend. Because 'regular' distress inks perform differently, the results would be quite different. Distress Inks will not result in such intensity of color, nor will they produce the rich 'oxide' finish...however, I urge you to experiment with any and all supplies you have! xoxo

Hi Sophia! The damask motifs were cheap stencils I picked up at Joanne's or Michaels years ago. For the video you did for the Graphics Fairy using this on a candle, did you have to coat it with anything so that the Metallique didn't rub off?

Hi Christine...I apologize, my friend, but I haven't made a video for The Graphics Fairy using Metallique Waxes, nor have I used them on a candle. Perhaps you saw the gorgeous post by Sylwia Piotr Kołacz in the [re]design with prima Facebook Group? Having said that, so far it's my experience with these waxes that if they bond with the substrate they are permanent once cured. No top coat required. Whether they will bond successfully to a candle? Unknown.

Hi Sylvia! The papers were stenciled with Joint Compound - then given a coat of paint prior to the Art Alchemy Waxes and Distress Oxide Inks. xox
