The Otter provides Hypothermic Insulation that scales with it's MD %, so bred/Imprinted Otters with high base MD can be leveled to give a lot of Hypothermic Insulation, eliminating the need for Fur Armor on the Island, or greatly assisting in surviving the cold areas of Ragnarok. Plus. they can wear Helmets that grant them Armor. Although, the Otter and the Hesperornis share the most aggravating taming mechanic in the entire game. The Ichthyornis, when sent to Aggressive and Hunt, will attack fish and smaller creatures (such as Dodos, Compy, and Lystro), allowing you to harvest Prime Fish/Prime Meat from them. The Hesperornis can lay Golden Eggs after it eats live Fish while on Wander. The Golden Egg can be used to make Kentrosaurus Kibble (used for taming Yutyrannus), or directly eaten for a Exp Buff. The Exp Buff is 10% for Humans and most creatures, but for smaller, unrideable dinos (like Dimorphs, Otters, etc) it's a whopping +500% Exp buff. Problem is, gaining Exp for those creatures is a pain in the ass since they have to land the killing blow to get the exp.

Should also acknowledge the fact that the icthyornis is capable of creating Prime meat off of dodos, compys, and other small dinos as well as Prime fish from any fish and a near necessity to tame a duck. I still hate them in the wild but they do have uses.

The vulture is my favorite because it can attack enemies while sitting on your shoulder, even if you are riding a smaller dino. Edit: This is very helpful when i get stunned by microraptors.

So far I've found that the monkey, jerboa, otter, dimorphon, and vulture are the ones that do it. I'm not sure about the microraptor though or the pego. My personal favorite is the dimorphon as they have saved me in many fights where I had only 30 health left due to their great damage.

Vultures can harvest meat while they’re on your shoulder, and when meat is in a vulture they have an extended spoil time. I don’t tame carnivores without my vulture on SE anymore.

The meat lasts 4x longer and when it collects the meat it has more of a chance to give you prime meat even on dodos

The monky is excellent in PVP, it is a mobile icewyvern slow effect artillery and can wear ascendant helmets and thus gain massive armor also a miners helmet and actually provides a shoulder light friggin funny!! And all shouldertames can attack right from your shoulder i believe. Also funny that the monkey can lockpick wooden doors if you throe it into a enemybase via a window or something, unfortunately its only for wood doors .. But how the armor protects the monkey is a question if it is only from direct headshots or like a saddle overall armor?? Videoworthy i think Diesel!

Monkeys are more useful than you stated as their poop slows targets down and is a ranged attack, I used one to successfully evade a Therizino when I was alone with chitin armor and a simple metal pike, so fighting wasn't really an option. Dimorphs are also the best shoulder warriors in mele combat because of their damage output, and they are great at taking out the bird thieves if you are terrible at aiming. Vultures also have high preservation times for harvested meats, sadly only spoiled meat can be directly added to their inventory. According to the game compies can alert allies to danger by signaling that they, or their mount are under attack, I don't play on large servers so I don't know if that actually occurs.

The mesopethicus poop throwing has a slowing effect just like the ice wyvern and like wild chslicotheriums. Which will slow down til 1/4 movement speed or a given low movement speed, not sure
