Alfred Ng I have my ankle fused I'm able to walk and use the elliptical with no issues for long walks I wear a Posterior Lateral Struts AFO with a shoe that has a natural rocker bottom such as the Brooks Beast but I no longer wear the Brooks beast because of having custom foot orthotic shoe inserts to correct my walking stride and high arches I have a size 13 5E foot so it's impossible to find a rocker bottom shoe that would be ideal for me so I just have to wear the Brooks dyed 9 do to the custom foot orthotics but I highly recommend the beast if don't need custom orthotics.

hanselxy with my ankle be fused its impossible to do any kind of weight calf exercise but just by doing the band stretches and walking or cycling the calf muscle can get a good workout but unfortunately I don’t think it will be anything like the other. I did switch into a xero shoe and am vary pleased with it now it’s the only shoe I wear of course this is against doctors orders but I’ve had no issues and no my limits and my planters fasciitis in my left foot has nearly gone away since I’ve started wearing the xero shoe.

hanselxy 🤔. No I don’t no anyone that has had both surgeries. My surgeon told me about the knee not bending tho and It worried me at first but I trained myself to bend the knee as I step off my heel it’s something that didn’t come over night I really had to work at it now it’s something a don’t have to think about I suppose if I get the ankle replacement when I’m older I’ll have to train myself not to think and bend the knee lol. But the rocker shoe will help quite a bit once a person can get into a shoe. But since I could not purchase a rocker shoe that would fit my foot I had to think of ways to over come my ability and strive. I’d most definitely listen and follow the doctor directions I can just say what works for me and I’m always learning. Just remember be humble pray and don’t over do it a fused ankle takes a long time to heel and get use to.
