Every artist was done dirty. they didn’t have a set rubric for which to judge or critique each piece of art and every single time they just made it up as they went along… Nunez was the worst. He totally pulled crap out of his ass to eliminate people just based on what he personally liked or disliked. Every artist got screwed

Aye, but Jesse did not consider WHO he was tattooing. He lost himself in the creativity and forgot to consider if the canvas wanted an ugly freaky fish. Especially considering his canvas was a beautiful lady- Who now has this on her body. I wouldn't be surprised if she got it lasered off or covered up.

@@jsmalls9575 i remember he won on Japanese day, but he wasn't happy that he did and said at one point "I'd rather go home doing something that feels like me rather than win with something I'm not." Nuñez respectfully called him out on that. Plus, he was ALWAYS trying to convince his canvases to go new school.

Jesse got robbed, Anthony's eagle was nothing special/lowkey kinda trash. For Jesse to freehand and then do all that detail, texture so quickly in that fish, if it had a little more contrast like bright colors (yellow prolly) stripes to make it pop those hamheads would've chosen correctly over that desaturated, boring eagle.

Jesse's stuff is amazing. It's wacko, but it looks good. To pick that eagle over Jesse's creature just shows that none of the judges understand art at all. The challenge was dumb to begin with. Free hand is OK, but no references? That's just nasty. The tattoo is bound to suck. But Jesse's didn't suck. He's a true artist. The see that ugly eagle and say that the lines look good is just nutts. Maybe the individual lines look nicer, but the entire tattoo sucks. Jesse's entire tattoo looks great. They just didn't like the guy, because he wouldn't let them change him. Good for him.

Man, the judges did Gian dirty. Why do they all seem to think that surrealism = realism? Some of the most iconic surrealism artwork has little to no realistic elements; the faces are often quite smooth and plastic looking. Hell, look up the definition of "surreal" and it says "not seeming real".
