All young artists when learning to become an artist go through struggles and art problems in day to day life, because art is not easy. I am here today to clear things up. You are not alone in your struggles.

When you spill a single drop of water on the place you were about to start your drawing on then you have to wait for it to dry but then it bends the paper a bit and leaves a noticeable mark and texture and you have to accept your fate and stare at the piece in sorrow. frick

I’m an anime fan as well as an artist, and I can say that, at least for me, anime is harder to draw than realism. So whenever I meet someone who can draw in an anime style, I get so jealous. I don’t know why anyone wouldn’t want to be drawn as an anime character.

Oh yes I feel you, I have that same sketchbook hoarding problem. Not a single one has been filled yet mostly because of ONE ruined page. Why do so many artists have this urge to finish a truly perfect sketchbook? And why is this urge so strong that we spend money on new sketchbooks rather than fill those we already own? Madeleine D I think it's because anytime someone has a hobby they collect resources for it in the desire for effeciency. You can tell if someone is into cooking because they have a lot of spices, are into gardening because of all the tools, etc. If we have a lot of resources we can just reach and grab what we want. This goes into collecting as well, there isn't an end to collecting really, because it's fun to collect and just have it. From those outside the hobby, it just looks like a hoarding problem in the making LOL

When you have the PERFECT angle on your pencil and then you adjust your grip and you LOSE it so then the pencil rips the paper or you have this one random dark line or spot UGH.

"When are you going to draw me?" used to irk me a lot before because I never knew how to answer since this basically is asking for a free piece. Now I learned to answer: "It could be done. I do commissions so you gotta let me know when exactly you want yours to be done, size, materials, yada-yada, and we will calculate the price..." Usually, this stops them.

Okay for real the missing new supplies is the worst. I bought graphite watercolor pencils and i fell in love. It took two weeks before they were gone. Honestly thought I left them in a public place... waited a year and fell into the urge to buy them. A week later i found an old pencil case in my moms room and there where the old ones... now i have two of the same sets that costed 25 dollars each... oh well. They will be used up soon enough

ahhh, the worst problem for me is that you draw something good, you want to colour it, but while colouring it, IT GOES OUT OF THE LINE LIKE WHY, WHY WOULD YOU BETRAY ME and also when you colour only to find out the colour isnt as pigmented as you expected and keep trying to add more layers to make it darker but fail making the artwork a nightmare. Happens to me WAY too often, I'm just lazy and don't want to erase - when you work so hard on something and your dog comes up to the table and decides to lay his drooly muzzle right on that paper on the table And gets his drool ALL OVER IT!! - when you work hard on something and you lift your hand to see a murder scene of smudged lead on your hand and drawing!! - when you forget to make a second layer and decide to do the line art or color in on the wrong layer!!! - THE PAPERS ARE EVERYWHERE!!! - .... the all nighters..... - when you put off drawing for so long then decide to draw and your drawing skills look like a 2 year old made it - "CAN YOU DRAW ME!!" - *snatches paper* "whatcha drawin" - THE HEADACHE!!

True, i've had this cool, blue eraser and i loved it. Even my friends at school knew about it and liked playing around with it. It was beautiful. It was glory. But once it accidentally fell on the floor, so i looked down to pick it up. And it was gone. How does that happen. It just fell on the floor and then it wasn't on the floor. To this day I don't know what happened. I have a red eraser now but it's not as cool as the blue one. I miss you Blue.

Oh man. I used to draw strictly with graphite pencils and cheap sketchbooks. I spent anywhere from $30-$50 a year on art supplies. Then one day I thought "hmm, I wonder if I'd like micron pens" and the rest is history. I did a quick run through of my current art supplies, and ive spent around $130 since January :')

The reference one is a serious problem for me!! 😂 But my number one problem is, I'll be drawing with graphite and charcoal and by the time I'm done, my hands are literaly black, and my face looks like I just came out of a mine shaft it's so dirty and just covered in charcoal.
