WOW.. what timing.. I wanted to put some stamp images on a glass bottle.. and my art supplier recommended this product. I bought black for fun, and the pearl white. Not knowing what to expect. This give me some idea.. I hope it works putting this on glass...

FD91354 That's great! I would use sandpaper or something to rough up the glass surface a bit before painting on the watercolor ground. Then make sure to let it cure. I think 72 hours works best. Also, I just finished a video on iridescent gold wc ground which should be up on KZbin by tomorrow. It's really pretty.

Thanks so so much!!! This is exactly what I was looking for. I have been painting on black paper but it is not made for watercolor.

Julia Beery Thanks for saying that! I keep seeing videos about painting on black paper with gouache, and I have still never seen an actual black watercolor paper. This black wc ground works, but make sure to let it cure for at least 24 hours before painting on it. It's not very absorbent unless you do that ☺️

How can I achieve a smooth surface? I applied watercolor ground with a brush. Do I need to add water?

Marzy Art Daniel Smith says to use a smooth roller. I haven't tried this yet.
