This was an amazing workflow! I completely agree that modeling the feathers is quicker, allows for more control, and creates a more convincing model. I can't wait for part 2! I am not too good at Z-Brush so I would love to see how you integrate it into your workflow for this design. As a university student studying game design this was super inspirational!

thank you ! I like this kind of workflow tutorials! at 5:46, the reason it creates an extra piece of geometry is because of the ''direction'' of the curve. It means the vertex 1 of your curve is in the opposite direction of your cube. You can ''reverse direction '' in your curve section and it should be ok ! :)

don't be software focused, be project focused, if your project doesn't require Mari, why learn it? Use what you need for your projects and have a portfolio to show is the key.
