I loved both! The frog had great texture and really interesting details, and the cat just edged it out for me. It was a beautifully rendered work in monochrome and in an hour. Loved the wings for a long hair cat.

Love it! They were both so different. One was hard and the other one was soft. I feel like the cat was a hard subject to paint and needed more time for the little details. I really love the extreme use of white in the cat. Great perspective! It's playing with the color more instead of just using a basic green.

Wow, they both turned out so well! They really pulled together in that last half hour which is a good reminder to not give up too soon on your painting. I can't pick a favorite. They are both so different in look and feel but so cool in their own way. Plus, I love both frogs and cats 😄

I think the results show a bit of a popularity contest - but I really loved both equally. I do like Dimitra's approach with mixed media though. However, a green cat was harder to pull off I think and she used a greater variety of greens, brought in a lot more variance in the background. So cat for me. Mystical witchy cat.

Dimitra's is more true to the rules, considering that the frog is actually orange. However, as far as final look, I like Eli's cat better, and I'd have voted for Eli. It was fun to watch. I hope you do this more often.

Absolutely loved this! Great way to open our minds to trying something we normally wouldn’t. I liked both paintings. The cat really pulled through in the 11th hour! The highlights really transformed it! I’m a fan of drips and seeing how new materials like glitter can be used. Because of that, I leaned toward the frog. It’s thrilling to know you can paint something like this in one hour! Amazing!

I love cats sooo much and the end result was beautiful. I’m not a reptile person really. I’m not afraid of them it’s just not something I’d think to hang in my home but I have to vote for the orange frog. The end results was amazing. Great jobs ladies. Sorry I’m only on KZbin. The frog is amazing and did stick to the original intent (orange frog). The cat was beautifully creative and the assignment was a green cat, this kitty was white. Of course, art is about breaking rules….

I did a painting of the band Tesla in monochrome blue, took it to the county fair, the band had a meet and greet before the concert. I got my painting autographed by all 5 members. The cost of the concert was just admission to the fair a whopping $4.00. i also did Green Day in monochrome dark green, but didn't get it signed.

I think the reason Dimitra's work won is because it's a more modern style. Elli's style is more traditional with mystical and sometimes fantasy elements, which is beautiful, but modern does speak to wider range of people. Hence to more votes on one side. From Elli's work I the brushwork and how she really pulled it all off in such a short time, immense skill. From Dimitra i like the simplicity and modern vibe, with much negative space. She made me like a Frog. Lol.

They were varying shades of green, though when you step back, they look like other colors when contrasted against each other. (I have hazel eyes, but depending on what I’m wearing, people have said that my eyes are green and at other times blue!)
