Beterbiev is not going to let Bivol escape...You have to understand this dilemma that Bivol has. I repeat Beterbiev will close the distance at all costs and cut off any lateral escape routes. He will force Bivol to exchange in close quarters and Bivol has not faced an opponent like this. On the contrary, Beterbiev has faced similar opponents to Bivol's style. Mark my words....Bivol is going down around round 8 to 10.

Boxing Bivol is like fighting someone with an automatic weapon that fire singles, short burst or full clip and then quickly reloads. Boxing Beterbiev is like fighting someone who knows where all the landmines are and can lead or pressure you into that explosive detonation at at any time in the fight. Wicked fight and strategy and tactics on the night, with the ability to adjust will be key. Very hard fight to call - so I won't. I'm just gonna get some popcorn and watch, can't wait!

I’ll take Bivol’s jab defense timing and speed over Beterbiev’s power pressure mauling. Bivol has many counters for the jab that he can use to neuter Beterbiev’s stick. Beter will then lunge in and eat counters for it. Combos reset him and allow Bivol to take control of the center of the ring. Danger zone for Bivol if too much time is spent on the inside. Bivol’s inside offense is lacking. He high guards and waits to land a counter left hook

Like Floyd, Bivol went from a boxer-puncher to a boxer-counterstriker. Those 3 head clashes in the Sullivan Barrera opened a cut over his right eye and a big bump on his forehead. I think he switched styles because he didn’t want a fight stopped due to an accident. Following that fight Biv wouldn’t sit down on his combos in the pocket

Seriously go and look at that fight and see how small that ring was. It’s 84 ft.² smaller than the ring that I think this fight will take place in. That heavily favours Bivol for his style and tactics ,and let not start about a 40 year-old trying to chase Bivol the way Joe Smith did for 12 rounds.

I have it 55-45 in Beterbiev favour but I wouldn’t be surprised if Bivol out box’s him because he has the faster hands & feet & has the better jab/lead hand which Bivol uses very well. I only recently became a fan of boxing. It was Bivol winning against Canelo that made me a boxing fan. Been watching Bivol since! I hope he wins, Beterbiev is a tough nut

No one seems to mention that the C Smith fight was in smallest ring allowed 18 ft. This is likely to be a 22 ft ring as there are big heavyweights on this card. If it’s a 22ft ring , then that is 84ft2 bigger , and so this heavily favours Bivol, as that will work well for his style and distance control. Add to that he has never fought anyone close to Bivols defensive responsibility, and I just don’t see he can be effective enough, often enough, especially as he is nearly 40, having never been the distance. For me this comes down to distance control. Bivol is most effective at long range, where as AB is a short to mid range fighter. I suggest Bivol has the advantage because the contest will require AB to break through Bivols range control, and at that, Bivol is the best there is. I suspect with his amazing cardio, ring generalship, and masterful in and out style which he can keep up for 12 rounds as he did with Smith, I can see him actually making AB chase him in the same way. AB’s style has not been to chase but to cut off the ring, and against Bivol I don’t think he can, and will expend a lot of energy trying to stay with him. This will take its toll, and I suspect AB will tire as it’s not the way he has ever had to fight previously, so that 22ft ring might be a bigger factor than people realise.

@@23igna Yes. BUT Look at the details. Beterbiev's first knockdown was more like a trip fall. And the second on he took it on the chin from Mighty Johnson. He took rest on his hand and got up immediately. neither his knees touched nor his butt. Now look at Bivol's, when he got rocked by Joe Smith, he was on chicken legs doing chicken dance. End of the round bell saved him. 30 seconds more he was gone. Every Tom, Dick and Harry talks about "TWO" Beterbiev's knockdowns, very very very few talks about Bivol's chicken dance.

Beterbiev has got to make this a nasty fight, shoulder checks, shoves and smothering while smashing that body on the way in and on the way out. Cant allow Bivol that long and mid range bounce /strafe style. Take away Bivols range management and his inside and midrange game isn't that great...not compared to Beterbiev. Beterbiev is power enough to and skilled enough to do it...the question here is if he still has the gas-tank and the reflexes to pull it off at age 40. @t.e.r.a1749 true , nothing revolutionary for Beterbiev...but take a look at the first 4 rounds of the Alvarez Bivol fight. Alvarez was pressing Bivol back to the ropes a lot with heavy combos. Alvarez couldn't keep that pace up and he didn't have the power to hurt Bivol...he gassed out by the 5th round. Beterbiev is going to be hitting Bivol with considerably more power than Alvarez...Bivol won't be able to shove Beterbiev off balance to keep him from launching power, as Beterbiev won't have to load up bombs to connect with effect

I’ve always said Bivol will control the fight, using the pendulum steps, lead hand and using those to set combos I think will break Betterbievs rhythm and timing for years. Recently I’ve said there’s opportunity of success for Betterbiev, mainly on the ropes. Like you said, Bivols high guard is very prominent and has been very good but Bivol has an amazing chin and in troublesome situations likes to brawl it out against heavy hitters and succeeds, a example is against the very hard hitting Barrera. I hope Bivol doesn’t resort to this but if he does, I think he can win but way too risky.

Thanks for the comment! I think Bivol’s lead hand and footwork is going to be the keys to victory. I get that he needs to try earn some respect from Beterbiev. But it has never ended well for anyone who ends up trying to stand and trade him. Bivol is too smart a fighter as well to even risk that.

Pillow fisted Bivol can not take the pressure and power of Beterbiev the moment he feels the pain he will hesitant to throw punches and become more defensive running like a chicken. Beterbiev will continue to smash him until he will get stopped in later rounds. no one knows Bivol until he defeats the flat footed smaller Canelo.

If you know bivol he always TRADES in his fights he did it against gilberto Ramirez and Craig Richards. I believe Beterbiev is a better boxer than bivol because being passive doesn't suggest that your a very good boxer like Devin Haney showed v Ryan Garcia. Beterbiev will aim for the body as bivols weakness is that look at Lyndon Arthur fight round at approx 1.20 bivol felt a body punch which he was hurt from.

And he’s freaking quick too man older or not Arthur is super skilled I think a lot of people give Bivol that skill praise because of canelo. He is an amazing boxing no doubt but idk without the canelo win we have a different conversation. I don’t see Bivol aging out beterbieve when he’s not far behind him in skill set

Tbh the fact that beterbiev even won 1 out of 3 times against usyk is enough to convince me he'll beat bivol. Usyk is pretty similar to a bigger bivol and even he got dropped by a body shot from artur. Bivol's head movement isn't going to protect his body if he's cornered. Big if tho lol.

Man, this is going to be a helluva fight. This is the biggest superfight of the year. I've seen Bivol disarm a bunch of different styles. I've seen Beterbiev dismantle many different styles. This feels like a true 50/50 matchup.

Bivol is an absolute joy to watch. He’s quite possibly the most intelligent fighter in the sport right now. He also has an excellent team, an extremely supportive spouse and a phenomenal attitude. Bivol performance in Gvozdyk was pretty badAZZ. Gvozdyk is a tough guy but all of those Beterbiev body shots broke him down. Until he was too tired to defend himself and got knocked out due to fatigue

Beterbiev is a much better, stronger, smarter, and more devastating pressure fighter than canelo. Yes Canelo is better defensively, but Beterbiev is willing to take more risks than canelo and doesnt gas out, doesnt throw one punch at a time and doesnt have slow feet like Canelo does. Bivol vs Beterbiev remind me what Bronn said about the mountain. "Maybe I could take him, dance around until he's so tired of hacking at me, he dropped his sword, get him off his feet somehow. But one misstep and i'm dead" Bivol can win, i got no problem seeing him winning but if Beterbiev hit him flush with a clean power shot just one time, it might be "bed time" for him. Every boxer who fight agains Beterbiev said that he is something else, something they never feel and never expected from a guy his size. To be honest, i just dont know who will win. I see Bivol win the first half and maybe the first 8 but after that ? after 6-8 round of Beterbiev rushing on him and hitting him like train, Bivol might start to wear enough for Beterbiev able to get inside and go for the kill or it might be a Bivol controlling 12 rounds with is timing and his jab and his moovement.

Bivol 60-40. I think he has the right skillsets and mindset to defeat Beterbiev. Beterbiev has tendency to be careless at times. Bivol could take advantage of it.

I think Beterbiev will have some trouble with Bivols speed in the beginning, but maybe not. He neutralized Marcus Browne and Kzicalajdc who were fast and twitchy with good foot work. Also Gvozdyk who was in his prime. If Bivol comes out with no respect for Beterbiev, he will give him trouble. If he comes out cautious, it will be a short night. His straight punches in bunches, if he is able to get them off, will give Beterbiev trouble. His in and out style is a style used in the amateur ranks and Beterbiev has dealt with this before. The one bad thing about Bivols in an out movement is that he jumps back and comes forward every time. If Beterbiev can a delayed double faint, he can catch Bivol on the return. For Bivol to win he will need to move constantly away from the power side, stay busy, watch for the counters, and hurt Beterbiev. If he fights like he did against Pascal, it will be a short night, I think Bivol wins the early rounds but Beterbiev adjusts and turns up the pressure for a stoppage.
