The margin of error driving touge at these speeds is crazy small. These guys are legendary.

The guy was driving at absolute maximum attack. Look how much he's fighting the wheel just to stay on the edge of control. Huge respect for being willing to push the limits so far.
I love how he kept apologizing respect the guy is a legend

you are still one of the best drivers out there Orido! Sometimes the best gets to us! This experience will make you better next time! Glad you are not hurt!

The AP1 rear end comes around very quickly and even if you catch it, the rear end would have come out quite a bit already. Orido is right about the rear end dancing. Comparing the AP2 with the AP1, the rear suspension pick up points were all revised. The AP1 has noticible rear toe change when going up/down (especially on rough road) and during cornering you really need to shift the weight to the rear to keep it down (and in most cases make it understeer). I used to track an AP1 and tuned it for larger track with some understeering (with J's Racing rear endlinks, front bump steer kit and J's racing type-2 GT wing and front splitter). At least that makes me feel more safe and actually improved my time quite a bit.

Ap1 rear end snaps out easily esp with 410hp! building up like that, v8 swaps find this out ever faster with the lower end torque. We found 245/45R16 compensated well for bumpy tight mountain roads and JR rear EL for now. I hope to see an AP3 with scaled up 28 degree vfr1200f engine to 2L which will be 280hp-300hp using 94mm x 72mm stroke. This would bring in the bike engineers but the body needs to be like earlier s600/800 lines maybe like 2008 alfa romeo 8c competizione lines with lower roof line than the api1/2 for better rear end ground force and 99-101" wheelbase.

Yeah my ap1 would dance around when it was totally stock so I can’t imagine trying to keep that much power pinned down. Huge respect to these guys

Thanks for the great input. This car is not for beginners to push around.
this happened to me, no guard rail, car flipped, rolled twice, pinned my leg to the seat, smashed the roof to the steering wheel. Broke my neck, 13 staples in my forhead, and 25-30 stitches inside and out on my thigh. Moral of the story, I got lucky, don't make the same mistakes. Keep it on the track!
You can really see how steep the road is when they're pulling the barrier off, wow! terrifying, all that pressure to get a little extra speed for the record, that car was so twitchy super fast rebound and super stiff springs, crazy!!!

hah, never seen any other car shows drive this hard.....good job BM ..! this sort of things happen developing a car for racing, especially with the challenge of the touge....! i want those tail lights....
People in the comment are smart, they understood right away that even if Orido crashed, it was not becaude he is a bad driver but because he is so good that he can push it this hard.
I always wondered will the owner of the car get some kind of compensation if the car is damaged or maybe they have to sign a disclaimer to acknowledge that their car may be damaged? I love watching these Best Motoring touge clips

Poor Orido. I'm such a fan of both of these guys and have been watching Hot Version for decades. With the tightness of the course it is eventually going to happen. I found it funny with Keiichi taking the piss out of Orido a little after knowing he's ok. Hope the car wasn't too bent as the tuners over in Japan pour their whole life into these cars.
@justinchou20332 жыл бұрын
These tuners know the risks involved letting the driver push the vehicle to its limits. In addition to real "development testing" it is worth the publicity from Best Motoring to risk crashing a vehicle.
