Still feels like forever, but seen a recent stat that the ATF is processing 300,000+ NFA items per month, which is AWESOME! Nice to see people exercising their rights!

Yup, they are processing a lot more than they used to. To put it in perspective, when we formed ASA in 2011 there were about 285,000 cans in the registry. That includes every suppressor that was registered from 1934 to 2011. This year there will probably be somewhere between 500,000 to 1MM suppressors transferred via Form 4s. We’ve come a long way, and have a long way to go!

The thing I can’t understand is how does someone in the same area and same shop get approval so much faster then the next person

You can’t understand it because it doesn’t make sense. Sadly, the system is broken. It’s getting better, but it’s far from where it should be.
