"Thunder Vengeance" is the opening for the entire show. This is the beginning of the encore. The little instrumental that played at the beginning is "The Awakening" which opens their first album. It's also played over the speakers to open the show on their first two live Blu-ray releases, "Battle in the East" and the much shorter "Crusaders Standing at Wacken - Live in Germany 2018," and the CD-only live release "Invitation to the Theater - Live in Tokyo 2019." As for how they found each other, Miho and Haruna were in Destrose together. They knew Miyako and Midori from the festival scene. Asami joined the group after she released a rock demo that found its way to Miho. I don't know if LOVEBITES is popular enough in America for them to go on a full tour. We have plenty of small venues where they could play, but even then I think they'd either need to be the opening band or have a strong opener or two like Asterism, Unlucky Morpheus, or American metal band Liliac - a group with its own loyal fans that'll help pack the house but not outnumber LOVEBITES fans. The danger is that those fans would leave once their favorite act plays. I saw that happen once where Lacuna Coil opened for In Flames around 2006, give or take a year, and at least half of the crowd cleared out once Coil was done. The same thing happened when I saw Gigantour one year. The bands were Overkill, Opeth, Arch Enemy, Lamb of God, and Megadeth in that order. I'd say 3/4 of the crowd used Lamb of God as a bathroom/food break, so much so that I heard the security guards making fun of LoG and saying that maybe twenty people gave a damn about them.

Your reaction to this song is really good. I think those are eargasms. 🤔 Everyone is in love with all the women of this band. Can't marry them all so I'll just settle for a picture with them and an autograph from each. Midori emotes her best faces in this song. Solos Miyako is just to cool. But I love how she is the stoic of the group. More solos! This is some of the best bass work by Miho. Haruna is the motor of the band and she doesn't stop. Asami and her stage presence. Asami and her voice. Wow! I'm hitting enter and passing out from my eargasms now.

I’m in the U.K., but hadn’t discovered them when they played here …. (And the last tour, I was in the US, they were here!). I’d fly anywhere if they play. Anywhere. I love how much you love this band. It’s reaction videos that led me to them and it’s reaction videos that will keep increasing the number of people like us because you only hear them once and you’re a fan. Several of their videos have hit 1 million views, and a lot of those views are comparatively recent. I think the low subscriber numbers may be partially explained by the limited number of tracks actually on there. They deserve all the help we as fans can give them to spread the word.
@MissLoonasSpeech2 жыл бұрын
"Limited number of tracks" only refers to clips from their DVDs, whereas you can stream all their studio albums as well as the three live (double) albums on their channel. It should also be said that the number of subscribers of a channel is less than the actual number of fans, because not every fan of a band/artist is registered here.

Opening for the Encore set after a full concert, and they look as fresh as ever!!! Love your reactions especially to LB what a riot. Sadly not enough people share your great musical ear as this band continues to hover at 66K subs. It won't be long before you have more subs than this group at the rate you are going (great for you, but criminal for LB). Thrash done the way only Lovebites can and it is both wicked and in your face. Once again Midori with the extrovert glow and a smile to light an entire arena and Miyako the introvert savant composing their next song in her head while playing this one show us just what polar opposite they are but how they blend together perfectly in every presentation they do. Miho even gets some shine time here with a great bass line. Asami looks like she is ready to kick a$$ every time she steps on stage, off stage she is shy and sweet but put a microphone in her hands and she turns into a stage general. Live Stream sounds great but honestly I worry you won't make it through and entire concert without some medical assistance (LOL)!!!

The composition is what sets them apart song after song and no attention to detail is wasted, not one note. Listen to the right channel of Miyako's rhythm part during the Midori's lead into her solo. The rhythm line plays a cool aggro 2 bars and then instead of the same thing she kind of inverts the pattern for the 2nd set of two bars. The line is very reminiscent of the main riff in unheralded 80's metal act Xenon's "Holding on", who happen to be one of the only 80's metal bands who had a female guitarist (bass) at the time. kzbin.info/www/bejne/faeVpnqEab2VpZY (main miyako sounding riff starts at 1:00)

Japanese female musicians are usually connected and does a lot of collaboration with different other bands or just maybe female bands that you don't usually see in the male rock bands.
@athlonen2 жыл бұрын
the reason why it is hard for bands like LoveBites to tour here is because of how hard (read: horrible) the music scene is here. Because it took a heavy downturn in the 200s through now (you could even argue that it took a major dive in 1992), all of the stations that would play something like this on terrestrial radio are locked into the Classic rock format because nothing is good anymore. Those that do make it mainly hit the festival circuit, unless they are an outlier like Babymetal or Nightwish. Babymetal did have their own set of tours here, which makes them a huge outlier, while Nightwish has toured clubs here, but their shows are mainly big productions. that's why they only had 3 north American shows for this tour, with one in NYC, one in Los Angeles, then one that was to be in Toronto. LoveBites did tour through Europe (they played Wacken, Bloodstock, and Download festivals, plus toured with Dragonforce). However while it was little known, Midori and Miyako did play at NAMM - the major guitar trade show in Los Angeles - in 2020. They effectively stole the show there, they were that good. 2 weeks later, COVID shut everything down. As for fans? there are a LOT of us with the Wolfpack. If I were to say (and this is a big call), the biggest 4 bands that are saving metal right now are Nightwish, Sabaton, LoveBites, and Babymetal, and in that order. After that, you can argue between Jinjer, Band Maid, Nemophila, Amaranthe, and a few others. But as for a following in the US, there are a fair number of us, and we're very vocal about it!

Best option for full live is "Five of a Kind 2020". it is perfect, before covid and they have mastered all their performances and mixing quality. That said you have done many songs from that concert, and in that sense "Heavy Metal Never Dies 2021" is good, with many many new songs. it is 2021, so it has covid restrictions though, so crowd can not engage so well, as they are seated with empty seats between. Mostly just clapping rather than pumping fist and jumping, but production is the best overall. "Daughters of the Dawn 2019" also has good quality, and it shows their older style more, without so much production. Just make sure you will NOT pick Bloodstock 2018, the sound quality is horrible.
@PaleHorseShabuShabu2 жыл бұрын
"Battle in the East" is their earliest live recording and kicks ass. The production is minimal, but the ladies are all super high energy and the crowd is lava hot for every song. Plus, at that time, they only had released only two EPs and one album, so the song selection has some tunes that wouldn't be played live in later releases.
@MrEd-qg8td2 жыл бұрын
Miyako's expression less manor is just an act. She is being the counter to Midori's smiling and getting the crowd involved. Miyako is a lot like Midori smiling and laughing when she is off stage. She is a big animal lover. She has a dog, an Owl a ball python and a parakeet. Very likeable.

Thrash Metal doesn't get better than this - especially not in the guitar solo department! My favourite song by Lovebites together with "Break the Wall" and "Set the World on Fire"! The live song by a male Thrash Metal band which IMO comes closest to these three songs is the official live version of "Through Eyes of Glass" by Forbidden from 1988. It features clean powerful vocals, very heavy riffing and great guitar solos (they also had two lead guitarists). Anyone who likes Lovebites' Thrash Metal songs and isn't already familiar with Forbidden, should give it at least a try: kzbin.info/www/bejne/eZLOoaOdZbqln6s

The difference between the guitarist is that Midori KNOWS she is a rock star! Miyako did not get the E-mail letting her know she is a rock star as well! I think Miyako is a perfectionist when it comes to music. Being a rock star is not about musical perfection. It is about entertaining the crowd and being charismatic. I know she has it in her, if she is willing to let the beast go!

"I'm moving to Japan" ... you and me both ... I wish :D Sadly, I doubt they will be doing any concerts in US and Canada, if they do it will most likely be Europe. Some mention their Subscribers and yes, that has some merit, but most NA and EU people don't really know about them, nor about the other bands such as Nemophila, Band-Maid or any other all female Japanese band. On top of that, Miho did leave the band so until they find someone who can fit somehow on the bass it won't happen. Also, Asami got married, Miyako got married and had a child, so most likely the next year or two they will only do Japan tours, same like Nemophila as Tamu had another child, Mayu got married and Saki needs a break. So the chances of us seeing them in North America is almost none; however, since I always wanted to visit Japan for few months, I might just do that once all this craziness ends of course and if. I have a list of over 30 bands and groups I want to see ... sooooo yeah few months. Edit: just realized you did not see Nemophila ... oh my, get cracking! Check the three latest songs on their channel ... pronto :) They are the hottest band on planet that almost no one knows about. I try to spread as much as I can, but many are hesitant when they hear Female band and even more so Japanese. There is still this belief regarding all female bands in both men and women and yet the best bands or groups worldwide are all female. You have to do the Holy Quadfecta - Lovebites, Nemophila, Band-Maid and Scandal. You are not into Japanese all female bands unless you know all four.

I think the line Bring Ddown justice to the wicked" is the most you ever get from the other 3 on backing vocals. Midori seldom does any except the little 2 word ones.

You're right, people in the U.S. know very little about any of the Japanese bands. Most end up playing smaller venues if they tour here at all. Here in Atlanta, Babymetal and Scandal play the Coco Cola Roxy, which has a maximum capacity of 4000. From the videos I've seen it looks like Band Maid played even smaller venues when they were here. It's not really financially worth while for them to tour here at those numbers.
