Marko did a lot of gigs in Finland during the summer. They resurrected the old supergroup Northern Kings and he also did solo gigs. In December, the traditional 'Raskasta Joulua' (Heavy Christmas) tour will take place again in Finland, and Marko will do almost the whole tour. The lineup is very strong and I believe that the last gig will be shown again on Finnish television, so there will certainly be material for reactors. The band recently said cannot replace Marco. He is just a great singer and performer. They said are moving on with Floor and Troy doing vocals And already wrote next album. Marco really had health issues that finally let him to take a break. There is no hard feelings in the band and they made Yuka permanent base player so Marco officially out. I hope he does a guest spot one day and does special concert with Nightwish again.

when Jukka(drums) left, Tuomas said if another member left that would be the end of Nightwish. and then Marko left. Tuomas himself said we shouldn't hold him to the things he once said. When he said the next album was already written and the vocals would be just Floor and Troy, that was when Marko had just left and Jukka(bass) was still a session musician. Now that he's permanent, I would really be surprsed if he doesn't sing. Tuomas is known for squeezing every last drop of talent out of a person.

@@jessicakoster2543 yeah you never no and album not out till 24. Floor has kept the magic going without Marco even though he will be missed and many songs won't sound same without him. However seeing them live they still sound great and will continue to thrive. Floor's popularity with the fans is a big help.

@@kingjulian904 if you follow his past statements he talked at length about it and he took a lot of time off during pandemic. He has depression history. Floor even mentioned it. He has only started singing and performing again after long absence and not touring all over world Plus he and wife just had baby so wants to slow down.

Yes you heard this at the NYC concert in May. This was their old closing song but is now near the end of their setlist, just before Ghost Love Score. Best line in any Nightwish song " It is hard to light a candle , easy to curse the dark instead". This song is part of an amazing, uplifting show ending sequence of songs (Last Ride of the Day, Ghost Love Score, Greatest Show on Earth, Ad Astra). When I left their show in Boston I have never been so energized and inspired to tackle all that life has to throw at me.

The lyrics to this are brilliant, right from the first line "we live in every moment but this one" - regretting or nostalgic for the past, fearing or hoping for what is yet to come, ignoring the present. If you read it as a poem (minus the repetitions) it still works. Also, yes, love it when Tuomas smiles!

Marko had enough, we love him, but he stepped away. Jukka is such a great bass player. No disrespect to my love for Marko, but he made a decision for himself and his family, it has to be respected. The guy gave 2 decades of his life to Nightwish, he will never be forgotten. He considered himself a yoke around the neck of the band because of his black cloud over his head. Mental health is no joke and all people should respect his wishes to step away. Jukka is freaking killing it on bass, and I have heard from his former bandmates of Wintersun, his vocals are unmatched. Anyone Floor sings with sounds great, and when you have the greatest vocalist in the world, and have a composer musical genius like Tuomas, the founder of it all, you are doing okay in my book.

@@572Btriode Yeah, that was the interview I watched, he said he always felt like he had a black cloud over his head, and he was bringing down the whole group. He also said in that interview he was not ready or able to make those big world tours, and would leave that to others. Health and family first Marko, good luck to you.

It was philanthropic of him to step aside although we all miss him dearly. You are so right about health and family, I have been saying for some time that Marko needs to look after Mr. Hietala, nothing else matters.

It's incredible that he was able to did all what he did while dealing with these mental health issues. That's real talent right there. Let's hope we have Jukka singing in the future, so we can have triple harmonies again.

@@dac2007 Real talent and real dedication too. Jukka singing, maybe if Tuomas writes from him in upcoming material. ISTR that Jukka said, or intimated, in an interview that he wouldn't be comfortable or happy attempting to take some Marko vocal parts and I can readily understand that, he's not Marko. We will just have to see what Tuomas comes up with in time.

The song was inspired by roller coaster rides. It is usually at , or near, the end of the live set. It was the last song at Wacken 2013. Anette era song, released on Imaginaerum.

Jukka the Second CAN sing. There is a Wintersun behind the scenes video with a segment on him. Marco and Nightwish didn't leave on bad terms creatively; it was the lifestyle that wore him out. Some of the great bands never really change throughout their existence. Such as RUSH, Rammstein, or ZZ Top. Others, like Yes survive even though they seem to have a revolving door policy. Nightwish is somewhat in between the extremes.

Last Ride was the closer for most of the EFMB tour, though it was followed the the Greatest Show On Earth as an outro (that is, the taped part 4 and 5 of TGSOE). For most of the current tour it has been between Shoemaker and GLS, followed by The Greatest Show, with Ad Astra as the outro. Love Markos harmonies which neither Troy nor Jukka can yet match. It will be interesting to see when Jukka starts singing. Talking of Troy singing, how about The Carpenter from Buenos Aires 2018?

Yes! You finally got to it. One of the very few popular reaction channels to actually do this one. Is a killer song, epic closer. Actually found out about Nightwish because of the Military Sci-Fi author, in one of his lore recent series, the Black tide rising series I believe, is epic, and a what I’d say and others, very, very “realistic” zombie apocalypse, and the aftermath, survivors, etc. he names them and many of their songs, throughout the series, sadly is one of his shortest, but best in a lot of ways, to me, he always does amazing work. Anyways he’s the reason I found NW, from an author I love, to a band I love. And one of the ones I remember first, was this song, yes he gives them credit. He’s part of a huge publishing company, so can’t just steal stuff lol.

Hello again Anastasia. So about Tuomas smiling, if you look shows before Floor and especially from 2002 forward tou see that he isn't in good headspace. Neither is rest of the band. Drummer Jukka was often very angry looking in between the songs. I feel like it got better in early on of Anette's Era, but after she started having issues of some kind that threatened band and their shows everything went back to being irritable, little hostile even. Like Troy said in Please learn the setlist in 48hrs documentary that "Relationships between band members were very much strained, to the braking point obviously because band did break". I noticed that after South American tour 2012 band had hope again when they did last "rehearsal shows" with Floor. And iat Wacken 2013 they(Band) might of had agreed to ask Floor to be a permanent member in band, so that was a huge stone of their chests and they had the 1st opportunity to play and truly enjoy entertaining people they took it. And afterwards pretty much every show I've seen Tuo as and rest of the band has had amazing fun, they radiate happiness and good spirit's so much it has a huge effect on audience as well. I bet band would bottle that euphoria and happiness if they could. And sell that forward as medicine for depression and such. 😂 Well thx for the reaction again. And sorry but I have to say that you look more confident and happy if I compare your first reactions and behavior. Also you look very beautiful, yet again. That hasn't changed. I also respect why he left the group, aka, not the group that caused it. And hope at some point he can/will come back, but if not, that’s how things goes, he needs to do what is best for himself. So if he never came back. I’ll be happy for him. Just slightly sad he’s not performing with them. And from everything we’ve seen, he didn’t have an issue with NW, and they parted on good terms. He’s even done like one or two live chats with Floor that were published right before/after that, at least in the time frame.

From everything I've read I'm quite sure that Marko & Nightwish left on very good terms, I think that there might be some guest appearances here and there, if things line up but not more than that. And I don't see Marko leaving Finland for a tour, I think that Marka have left that part of touring. He is also older than the other members of Nightwish so I can very much understand if he wish to be more part of his family, when you think of how much he have not been a part of it with touring etc. But as everyone else I do miss Marko.

I am glad he has his musician friends to be there when he feels like playing. Has he been to a NW concert since he left the band? I bet he would be the loudest one telling you to go.

Nightwish means touring, and in that interview linked in another comment Marko says that he likes to perform on stage, but he hates the traveling part of touring, airports, planes and all that. So he'll probably stay in Finland and perform there.

Marko not only sang great harmonies with all 3 female leads and filled in between...he recorded all of the 1st draft demo songs with guitar and vocals, over the years. I'm also a fan of the kilt! And my 86 yr old mom loves Nightwish! The only artist she loves more is Tommy Johansson! If you haven't checked out his channel...he posts a new power metal cover every Friday...and wait til you hear him sing!!! Tommy also arranged several of Floor's solo songs. Stay on your Nightwish journey, girl...its life changing magic!

I've watched you constantly listen to Floor and then stopping the tape and saying "I can do that." Bear in mind my opinion is just that. I don't know where you're from, Russia maybe. Your accent comes through very strongly. I love your channel, I think your accent badly affects your sound. You're incredibly sexy, but you can't sing. Your voice is very tinny sounding meaning it's not soft. That said, you telling people you have all this training for growls and opera which I don't think you do. Do you have a song where you sing opera? I'd love to hear it. Just my opinion now. You're no Floor, and never will be. With your sexiness and charisma on a stage, if you can get rid of the accent, and soften your voice up, you'll go far! When you have to PUSH the same songs on people instead of them LOOKING for you.. well that ought to tell you something. Good luck on future endeavors!
