My thought is that the Fire Navi may have either kidnapped someone or someone within their clan betrayed their trust and now they are sacrificing them to appease Ewya…but that’s just my guess but if someone else has another theory go ahead and say it!

My thoughts are is that I think tsireya, tuk or kiri could be the ones getting captured by the ash people and jake, neytiri, lo'ak alone with the metkayina now must race to find them before the ash people begin a dark ritual and I think if tsireya does get kidnapped by the ash people lo'ak would try to save her because I think in avatar fire and ash lo'ak and tsireya are in a secret relationship and their family don't know about it but they slowly get suspicious on their change of behaviour

I feel that saying the Ash People might be outright evil could be assuming too much. While this piece of art is definitely unnerving, Cameron has said in past interviews that Avatar 3 will be exploring ideas of how those who can be seen as antagonists feel they are doing what is in the right. This could indicate that Ash People may have more to them than meets the eye. Regardless, the concept art does raise a lot of questions that will be exciting to see answered!

This is also because the Ash People will probably have nuanced motivations for their actions being in a unique position as the first antagonistic Na’vi clan of the series.

As cool (and disturbing) as the theory of them cutting off their own kurus is, I don't think that's the case. We see them riding ikran in the other concept art, which would not be possible without a queue. If they are kurus, they've likely been taken from enemies.

Could be these Navi walk a path of death. To me seems reminiscent of a voodoo ceremony being led by a boucor giving homage to some god/goddess of death. It would seem they might wear the ashes of their fallen as it might be a symbol of strength and invulnerability. These may be some forsaken Navi banished to a realm of Pandora that only brewed their rage against all the other tribes. These Navi wouldn't be merciful because they would come like death in the night

Another possible reason for the kuru necklace and the na’vi behind Varang not having one is something I saw in Pinterest comments. Maybe she forcefully cut them off of atheist na’vi, of perhaps it was a punishment for some crime. Either way getting a kuru cut off is probably extremely painful and terrifying.

The tsaheylu are probably to the Ash clan what human hearts were to the Aztec religion. They probably cut them from their enemies as well as followers of their religion, and likely raid other clans for sacrificial victims, just as the Aztec Empire did. They might still believe in Eywa, but probably a radically different interpretation; one that emphasises Eywa's destructive and death-bringing aspect. After all, a volcano is a force of nature, and thus can be linked to Eywa (even if that belief might be false).

When I first heard that there were Ash People in this new movie, I was kind of hoping that Cameron would explore Indigenous “cultural burns” - a practice used by many cultures across the globe to where low intensity fires are used to clear overgrown areas and promote new growth. It would be cool if there are different tribes within in the Ash people, some of which show that fire can be used to help the land. That being said, even if that practice isn’t explored, I’m very excited by the idea of Na’vi showing a darker side and creating conflict with other tribes. Var’ang looks absolutely terrifying and this piece really gives me Conan the Barbarian and Frank Frazetta vibes, which I’m excited for! Either way, it’ll be cool!

I wonder if this is like that episode of My Little Pony wherein a pony stole everyone's "cutie mark" (the mark that identifies them and makes them unique) in order to control them... but they later find out that said leader didn't sacrifice her OWN cutie mark, and they turn on her. Varang could easily still have her "ponytail" (I forget the name) but it's mixed in too well with the others. She still has that link, but is stealing it from others to control them.

hi there I've been thinking about 3 a lot lately, your previous videos and script/concept art/set footage leaks. We already have a good idea what is going to happen in 3 but I think the movie is going to set the precedent of humans migrating to pandora more and eventually transferring to Avatars to inhabit the planet and coexist with the Navi. This is more for movies 4 and 5. Even if the Navi weaponize the methane pod plants and cause mass destruction I'm not sure RDA or the rest of humankind will ever let go of Pandora this depends if the new General was lying or not in the Way of Water when she stated that planet earth is dying.

My hope for this new enemy is to make a mark on our main cast, that being their beliefs, relationships, right/wrong and future. Especially not forgetting maybe new u=human characters back home on Earth that may serve a bigger purpose, but I'm feeling that's not gonna be the case for the 3rd movie. Some cool ideas I think could be interesting for the film is this clan only speaking in their native tongue just like in the 1st movie because they don't believe in that other language just like how the Metkayina has. This and have that Ash clan leader maybe have some sort of power where she can see things in people, say knowing who Jake is and where he's from can bring conflict on the way of seeing things from different perspectives. This probably won't be in the film since filming is done, but one can ponder.

**Possible spoiler** So here's my theory: Maybe this ties into the theory that's been going around of Kiri possibly being able to give Spider a kuru and for him to be able to breath Pandoran air. Like if she's able to give him a kuru then that means she might be able to return those who are lost to the cult of Varaang so they can be once again be connected to Eywa so blue space 8 foot alien baby jesus named Kiri to the rescue or will she also sacrifice herself like our Jesus did according to the Bible to save everyone? and really intriguing...how the Na'vi Ash are shaped to be against everything we see in the Na'vi to this day...They seem to have profane habits... like having kurus from other Na'vis, scarifications on their bodies (if you bring the image closer you can see them) and also their aggressive and intimidating manner, Eywa protects the balance of life, but the Ash people don't seem interested in this philosophy, are the type that attacks before defending themselves, really a different type of enemy... we can't even know how our protagonists will face this

Navi who walk a path of death and destruction. A clan exiled to the wastelands of Pandora. Seems that this picture would be one reminiscent of a voodoo ceremony, where we might be seeing zombie navi doing varangs bidding. The Navi on the far left may be such a zombie as it may be under varangs control. In the end, varang might be a soul stealer, raising the dead to do her bidding and form an uprising to obliterate pandora. No mercy to anyone, slavery and navi sacrifice will ensue to feed what dark version of eywa that they believe in, by the giving of blood and flesh.

In other concept art it showed quaritch in na'vi type of clothing so i feel the 3rd movie is a win for the villains side as they lost 2 times and to lose again would make these movies predictable each time so quaritch definitely needs a win i have a feeling for losing to jake 2 times the RDA just gets rid of quaritch and wainfleet and they go off on their own solo mission and come acorss the ash tribe and quaritch thinks he can use them to his advantage and obviously kind making them fear him with his weapons and whatever he has but also getting varang to fall for him or work with him in which he gets his own na'vi uniform clothing and the RDA takes a back seat in this one building bridgehead and whatever weapon they said was in the leak script of quaritch and wainfleet flaying and seeing them build but avatar 3 is basically quaritch revenge and win finally getting back in good graces with the RDA where they said supposedly in avatar 4 would be the battle at bridgehead a big huge battle where over the course of avatar 3 you still see small parts of quaritch being good but not fully until avatar 4 at bridgehead where he possibly ends up helping jack and the others from the RDA and avatar 5 is them going back to earth and also the search for ewya while quaritch could have a sacrifice type of ending

Well the artwork sure does refect upon our stereotypes of something evil, playing upon our images of Demons and zombies etc , which Cameron also played upon this angle with some of the language used in way of water,, with nice symbolic countering refrences later in the film. Still to the best of my knowledge the Na'vi idology does not recognise the same images we stereotype from some religious storys , None of the Na'vi clans we have seen so far have any kind of refrences to making sacrfice's of any kind either. I am going to guess a clan of Na'vi who are not connected with Eywa and work in counter to value's of clans we know so far. it is important to note our culture strongly tends to look at things from a very dualistic perspetive of reality (Good/Evil Us/Them) But some indigious peoples in there orignal perseptions of reality do not see or think in those ways at all , (The youtube example "David little Elk - Duality Definition" For a Lakota perspetive upon this issue, and no I am not trying to promote his book but he does have a good point) Natural law does not work in that manor either.. maybe Cameron will suprise us, who knows ?

*THIS IS MY THEORY* I think they, the Ash clan worship the opposite side of Eywa. Where Eywa it self representing Good, Peace, and Balance. the God that Ash Navis worship would be the opposite of it. Maybe they start their moves on 3rd movie because pandora is beyond her limit, with all those destruction that Sky people bring. Ash Navis be like "I fed up with this peace and balance bullshit, Destruction and chaos must be fight with anoher destruction and chaos" so they start a move to ressurect the Anti-Eywa, but if this Anti-Eywa actived the Eywa that we know from movie 1 must cease to exist and maybe on that process will alter heavenly planet we know as Pandora to a hell like form like sum deadly and dangerous panet. So the plot would be Jack Sully family and friend trying their best to stop it.
