i'm here to leave a comment that i should haved leave a long time ago but i never haved the time to do it. very well done Sethlon you are a Master that has passed the torch or more like the Wet Noodle to others one of my favorites combos video that exist in all Melee History and *BURN* one of the sickest TAG i ever see. PS: the ending was truly a joy to see 5:10 Roy pretending to be Marth (laughs)

4:13 ~ 4:17 This was particularly really fascinating. It's a regular Roy finisher to UAir -> FSmash, especially on fast-fallers, but here, the target's height was still too big for a sweetspot FSmash, so you lowered him down (while raising further his %) with another UAir for a guaranteed, even more powerful FSmash. EDIT: Not only this, but this way you could FSmash him towards the side of the stage you guys were closer to, further guaranteeing the KO, because with just the first UAir, even if you could FSmash with its sweetspot and at lower %, you'd be forced to use it to send him towards the farther end of the stage, which would have been to the left. Truly a genius moment. Left alone how that may trick his DI etc.. Thank you Sethlon for your overall really awesome video compilation. You did a phenomenal job in every area needed.

I always liked Melee Roy. He has an amazing and cool moveset, and he doesn't feel as Marth in that way. I'd wish I could master him as you do, Sethlon. I kinda like Sm4sh Roy, but his moveset has changed so much.

While we are at it, let's just fuse Marth's blade with the hilt of Roy's sword and give it to Fox :P In all honesty, giving Marth's untippered forms the strength of Roy's sweetspots would probably make him the best character in the game by a considerable margin.

JVlunby Roy's UpSmash has actually the strongest _spike_ (as opposed to meteor) in the entire game, and it also ignores %. lol Neat thing, kinda like his UpB vs. light characters for 0% KOs etc.. Too bad that's still just not enough to make him yet a viable character for Major Tournaments for getting 1st place. At least, not from what we know as of now, that is... Btw, if you were referring to the DAir at the end, that's a meteor, not a spike. :p

Sethlon Alright. Just a question, correct me if I'm wrong, but you used to play Marth, or at least did for a short period of time. What made you switch to Roy/Switch back to Roy? I really like Roy in PM but Marth is also great and I am debating which one to main.

Eptic0227 Since he hasn't replied, I'll try to chime in. He told me last year (2013 for future ref.) that he had switched to Marth earlier in the year I think (Marth2good), but he ended up dropping Melee altogether once Roy was released for PM in Decemeber. As for Roy/Marth: Flip a coin, or main both. :P

ThisIsWEB Alright. I played with some friends and my Roy does better than Marth against most people, except for Fox/Falco and other fast falling, easy to predict recovery characters. It's easy to get them off the stage and then ledge guard them to death with Marth. I guess I'll use both, for different match-ups, but mainly Roy.

Nahh, it's not actually cancelling jump squat with counter. Jumping OoS into counter like this goes through the full jump squat frames, but counter freezes Roy's vertical momentum before he actually leaves the ground afterwards. So it's a relatively slow shield option, with all the risk that comes with throwing out counter, but it can be useful situationally.

Yo, Sethlon I was wondering I really like Roy, and the way you play him is incredible. But I'm pretty new to the competitive Smash scene, I was wondering for Melee and PM what do you think I should be practicing first and or more for playing Roy?

Dyson Movement. Melee and PM are very movement heavy, and it takes a long time to get that movement ingrained in your muscle memory. Recommend just moving around with wavedashes / l-cancels / etc, 10 minutes a day.

a spike you cant cancel. however, if you are hit with a meteor attack, you can get out of stun instantly if you press up-b. this is called meteor canceling (i think you only have a certain amount of frames to cancel it though once you're hit) i didnt know for awhile either, dont worry about it
