For it being Denji's VA first major role, he did amazing. I was surprised hearing him talk in an interview because he sounds so different off character. Also as a manga reader.... the wait was worth it 😭

Not gonna lie, I'm also crying my eyes off here. Knowing the harshness of the poor. Knowing his father probably have to take those debt to heal the mother. Knowing his literal best friend saved him at the cost of it's own life. This is the first time first episode in an anime killing my emotion.

the OP is filled with many movie references because the mangaka Fujimoto is a big fan of films. and because you mentioned Devilman Crybaby, I gotta point out that the composer for this also did Devilman Crybaby OST.

lol it took me over 3 hours after the launch time to watch it. We were all posting in the comments "waiting team sign up!" until the mods locked it lol. I have to say, this is one of the few entry eps that literally had me "laser focused" into everything that was going on.

This is the manga I read when I was snowed-in last year, and while it was a good read, I didn't have the motivation to pick it back up after the power (hehe) came back, but when it was announced to be animated, I knew i'd reexperience it 😤

wow fast upload! this world is really bleak, i love it. and it already got you in the feels. this might be a perfect counter to spyxfamily's wholesomeness (although the past eps were pretty dark) just not a fan of mappa's cgi though(a personal preference)

As MAPPA promised that they won't censor it and stayed true to their words they did an amazing job animating it it's a gore fest that isn't gross but really satisfying 10 ot of 10.
