Well you're my friend in my head, Ashley, and you have no power there 😂 I've shifted into a place where I'm not allowing the poor behavior, decisions, etc of others, to dictate how I decide to show up in the world. I am not building anymore walls or defense/coping mechanisms into who I AM, in reaction to the behaviors of others. I'm coming at everyone in LOVE and I'm not accepting anything but LOVE from others. If we cant have that, ok cool you go be whoever/whatever over there. It's no beef. I'm still ME over here. We might not kick it anymore etc, fine, but I'm not altering myself on behalf of anyone else anymore and taking these sorts stances is how distrust and cynicism and bitterness and the blocking of blessings begin. It's a FEAR reaction. And it never affects anyone but ourselves. What other people do/say against me is between them & God. Especially when I know who I have been and what my character consists of.

I had a friend of almost 20 years fall out with me about something so petty. I’ve learned that you may be more of a friend to a person who’s not truly a friend to you. Look at their interactions with other people. If they do it to them they will do it to you as well.

This happened to me too. Back in 2015 we tried to reconcile however, I realised I can’t trust her anymore or be myself around her (I had to be on guard). Thus since 2016 I’ve seen her twice and it’s not the same at all. I took it as a lesson & a season.

I’m glad you’re speaking on this one. I can relate to this on so many levels. When I was in middle school and high school I always thought the people I met who have the same hobbies as me aren’t really my friends. It was because I was afraid of being lonely and I was so desperate to have friends. There are times that I get bullied and I thought my “ friends “ gonna have my back but instead they laughed at me and walked away. Now that I’m 28 and having no friends. I have trust issues too. It’s gonna be so hard for me to make new friends because of my insecurities.

Just work on being your own friend get to know your likes dislikes and truly know yourself as a person.your limits and boundaries and if someone crosses them dont be afraid to speak up and say " hey I dont like this" if they respect you as a friend they will change. I'm working on anxiety and realize life is to short to be scared about what people think. And if you need reassurance who truly has your back look who's around when your going through something for me it's just me and jesus.

Keep your circle tight. When someone shows you their true colors, believe them and DON'T make excuses for them. Listen to Drake, "no new friends". Don't give them your energy. Move on to a better future, leave the trash behind! And... Get your license. This will give you control of where you go and you won't need friends to take you places. Im a introvert and I don’t use the friend word loosely either. I been snaked out so many times in the past. That’s why when I use to meet new people I never called them a friend. It takes a while to call somebody a friend and I only have 4 friends. I knew all of them for over 10 years and my bestfriend been my bestie since we was 5 years old… I never had to question her loyalty and I keep telling her to cut her so called friend off. That girl talks about her behind her back and tells her business to other people and my best friend still giving that girl chances. She keep using the friend word to loosely, she even call her friend friends her friend… A person have one time to do some snake stuff towards me and she’s cut off for life. I only let 1 person get away with it and that was my ex gf but I’m glad I let her out my life completely. I never looked at her the same after she use to say mean low blow stuff to me when we was together.

Gurl...I feel for you. I understand how challenging it is to trust people. Then after that trust is broken, how challenging it is to trust others again. If we were ever friends, I wouldn't ask for money. Why? Because my mom taught me that anything you want in life you have to work for it yourself. I spent many years just handing my check over to my family and never asked for much in return. Now that I can move on, I just can't trust like that anymore. People may think I am stingy but its to enjoy what I have with the people who actually are there for me in my life. Plus my mom always made us feel guilty for borrowing money from anyone. It's just stuck with me and has kept me out of a lot of problems. Ashley, remember there are other ways to help others without using money. My heart hurts when you go through something bad so try your best to be careful. But whatever happens gurl, as a fan, I'll always be praying and rooting for you. Yup been here three years ago a mutual friend of a friend I've been friends w for over 20 years considered her my sister.. goddaughter to my first born daughter...he told me my friend isn't my friend like I think she is...at the time I was confused like nahhhh she loves me she would never hurt me!! I remember coming home for my first break from college. I had a childhood best friend that came over to see me. As we were going for a walk, she asked me if I knew any gay people at school. When I told her yes, she turned to me and said “. We can’t be friends anymore”. She cut ties with me that very same day and I haven’t spoken to her in 35 years plus.
