I did this practice today (on the Omstars replay) and really enjoyed it. I'm finding really useful to try different videos of the Primary, it's always a little different in terms of timing, pacing, teaching points etc. I think it's good to force the body to stay alert and not get used to the exact same routine. These led classes are great because I get a chance to see how a different 'body' interprets the asanas, but I still get the Kino guidance. Thank you for giving up your time to share yoga with the world at this difficult time. Much gratitude. Namaste 🙏

Thank you Kino so much for this practice! Ashtanga is a very demanding and sometimes I just overthink it and push myself to hard because of it. The way you led this ashtanga practice gave me so much calmness and put me in the right spot between pushing myself to hard and pushing just a little to take the step in the right direction. Thank you again! Namaste!

I’m still fairly new to the ashtanga yoga method, so some of the postures closer to the end were a little more difficult for me, and I found myself wanting to skip those parts of the video. But I didn’t, I found ways to modify it in the moment and I stuck with it. I met myself where I was without judgement and it was really beautiful. Sometimes the hardest moments are the most valuable and most teachable moments. Thank you so much for this practice

Hi Kino, I tried your primary series today :) it was challenging yet energising. A tiny bit fast for me as I've only been practising a few months but I paused where needed to get into poses. Lotus used to be so easy for me to get into but recently I've been finding it difficult to get into it and not sure what part of my body is tight/needing release to make it easier. I tend to get a sore sensation behind my knees now. Any ideas?
@KinoYoga4 жыл бұрын
It sounds like you need to focus on external hip rotation. Be gentle with your knees and be sure not to push or force.

Looking for advice: what is best practice when I am practicing alone and forget a pose but realize my mistake later in the sequence? Is it OK to add the pose in when I remember, or should I start back at where the pose was and repeat all the following? Or is it best to eliminate that pose for the day? I do my best to stay present so that I maintain the intended order, but sometimes my mind wanders and I make a mistake.
@KinoYoga4 жыл бұрын
Totally understand. If it’s just a pose or two beyond, then go back and repeat. If it’s many poses later, just skip that pose for the day and move on :) It happens to all of us!

Shouldn't the head when doing chaturanga at least in line with the spine? My teacher always advise to look forward in chaturanga, never down. But he seems looking down and head also slightly down in chaturanga almost the whole practice. I am a beginner just been practicing 1st series for 2 years 😅

Wow, how come only 3 minute rest in savasana?
@dontask49904 жыл бұрын
You should rest as long as your body needs in savasana. I guess they shorten the video so it won't be too long.
@dharmaram75274 жыл бұрын
elle Pe Too long? Savasana is a posture for reason. It is one of the most important poses to calm the nervous system. Too often modern teachers cut it short and that’s a shame.
You are a very calming person and impressive in all you do. I know you hear this a lot, but you are beautiful and have the prettiest feet!

I know you want to make ad revenue from these videos, but it is EXTREMELY disruptive to be in the flow of a class and have a multiple ads pop up throughout the practice. Yikes. We have to get back to a point where we're not putting profit above experience. Why not just put your ads at the very beginning and the very end of your videos? I understand (and greatly admire and appreciate!) that you're making these videos available to us for free, but being able to fully experience your videos is negated by the constant interruptions. If this was a different genre it wouldn't be as big of a deal, but I don't want to hear ads for 1.5 hours when I'm trying to practice mindfulness in a "class" setting. I LOVE your content, you instruct so well and you have a great teaching voice, but the excessive amount of ads you choose to place throughout the videos aren't conducive to a meditative flow, so I'll have to look elsewhere for content.
@Dorr2344 жыл бұрын
shouldn't arms be stronger same with hands and fingers and pointing in standing position - samasthitih and ekam? Ahaha jesus I am so annoying I just realise lol my teachers fault 😂😂😂 I miss them and going to the sala and to Mysore 😅😅😅 love this practice but it is so hard 🤣🤣🤣

I find the mixing of English and, presumably, Sanskrit terms, counting, instructions, etc. to be perplexing and irritating. Why not just give instructions in one language.
@KinoYoga3 жыл бұрын
I understand that it can be frustrating and perhaps a bit confusing. But, truthfully, Sanskrit is the language of yoga and including Sanskrit terms, as well as the traditional counting, is a way we can honor yoga’s roots in India. I also meant this to be a straight presentation of the traditional practice. When I do beginner Ashtanga videos, then I usually leave out the Sanskrit counting and keep only theSanskrit terms for the asanas/yoga poses.
