Ash, I am so sorry you faced so much. I, too, have faced difficult times in my life. Things I really can't share here, but from my parents, my environment, past events, it all made me feel anxious, negative -and feeling just not good enough-not worthy enough for any success or happiness. I sabotaged relationships, I self-isolated all of that-trying to deal with it all. Then, I found out that my worth was not about what others, or even what I felt about myself. I found out that a King, the King of Kings loved me so much that He died for me and rose again for me. Accepting His gift of salvation, I became someone new, a child of The Most High God. Now, even though I still have bad days, and I sometimes still have to stand beside the grave of a loved one, I still have hope and a promise that I will see them again. Death is not the end. And if this world gets too heavy, I cast all my cares on Him for He cares for me and offers to take my burdens. I can lean on His strength as I walk through this darkening world. John 3:16, "For God so loved the world" -that's you and me-"that He gave His only begotten Son" --our payment for our sins- "that whosoever believes should not die" -be separated eternally from God-- "but have eternal life." An Eternity of Glory awaits on the other side, and strength, peace, and victorious abundant life while we are here. We were never meant to try to do this thing all our own. I want you to know that God loves you, Tim and He is here for you. He knocks on our heart's door. I hope you will let Him in. Give the Lord a chance. He will change your life, and your eternity. You're in my prayers, my brother. I am glad for you and your videos.

I’m over 50 years old. In my 20’s, I had a rough time and read a bunch of self help books, did some meditation, and started saying to myself (in my head) “I kick ass”. That one thing changed my life. It took time, but now even today over 30 years later, my subconscious will just spew out “I kick ass” and that’ll start some story in my head where I’m the hero and succeed at something difficult. It sounds dumb when you start, but it’ll become a habit, and change how you approach life. It did for me, and is still working.

18:18 Yes exactly. When you're at rock bottom your thinking is way too biased and therefore the ultimate decision (ending your life or not) should't be made in that moment. What helped me out of my depression was adding in small positive influences in my life in the form of easy routines (sounds dumb but cold showers cured my depression), because I wasn't strong enough to get rid of the negative influences in my life yet. I needed to get back on my feet first and then I could tackle the negatives. Huge respect for sharing your story with us. I'm happy to see you're doing better now.

First of all, thank for not only feeling comfortable enough but also vulnerable enough to let us peek into your personal journey. It takes an immense amount courage to let others in when you are so used to shutting people out, especially strangers. So many of us see content creators, celebrities, or highly influential people and only see what they want us to see which is usually only the good side. Until something bad or tragic happens and then those who don’t know are left in shock and find out, “Hey, they had the same types of struggles as I do. How did I not know.”. I appreciate the fact that you see that and want your community to know that they are not alone. We are all human and flawed in different ways. You are an inspiration to those, like myself, that deal with mental illness every day. As you said, it can be a struggle sometimes but we just need to keep in mind things can and will get better and we are not alone. Thank you again.

Thanks for making this video Ash! My dad passed away a few years back of cancer, so I can relate. He was a good father and a good friend. I agree, mental health is very important for everyone, and I am always trying to help my community, to offer my ears and be here for them when they need someone to speak with. It's not always easy for them to speak with family, but they find it easier to speak with a stranger or a friend.

Great video brother! I’ve been watching your content for nearly 5 years now. You were the first CC I watched when I played raid and now I get to enjoy your content on WoR. I love the videos you do on mental health it shows a sensitive side few men ( myself included) feel comfortable expressing. I lost my dad nearly 20 years ago, it hit me hard we weren’t very close when I was growing up, and I think as I entered my early 20’s he was saddened by that and worked really hard to have a relationship with me. Sadly I lost him also to lung cancer when I was 27 ( he was only 46) and I fell into a deep dark hole for years I was on a path of self destruction and didn’t care if I lived or died. Fortunately the universe in its strange way saw fit to help me out and I met an incredible woman that pulled me back from the edge. We’ve been married for 15 year and have 2 amazing children, and every day I am thankful for the life I have. I don’t know if you will read this or not Tim, but I want to thank you for being who you are whether you believe it or not your content helps people.

Thank you for sharing this heartfelt story, Tim. As someone who is on medication for anxiety and has battled depression from my divorce 3 years ago, and almost daily panic attacks for awhile, I can appreciate and identify with your struggle. We are ALL stronger than we think we are. Even when we think that we are at our lowest point, we ALL have the power and the strength to battle back. The future may be uncertain, but we have to believe that the best is yet to come.

How hard was it to get out of that mindset? No matter what I do or learn or tell my self I still have the biggest problems improving. Everything your telling someone like me to do are things i tell my self everyday and hear from people almost everyday, but Its so hard to actually embody those feelings. How can i actually accrue the will to do something?

There’s a book you should read….you guessed it the Bible. If you want to find a deeper truer peace. Walking with The Lord will give that to you. From a former atheist and guy who would burn a bible before he read it. The love I came to know is like nothing I could have ever imagined. Yes bad things will continue to happen but you will see how The Lord will use them for good.
