India is well-known around the world for its unique culture, which might not be the easiest for foreigners to adjust to. That said, there are over 5 million foreigners living in India and we’ve gotten a lot of requests to ask foreigners in India what it’s like for them to live in India. Do they feel safe in India, for example? What kind of culture shock have they experienced in India? We talked to some foreigners in India to find out.
The opinions expressed in this video are those of individual interviewees alone and do not reflect the views of ASIAN BOSS or the general Indian population.

I was there last year, empty streets without car and people still obey the traffic lights. I'm Singaporean and we are kinda law abiding but not to that level. You get silent judging eyes in Japan if you do something rude...they really silently judge you. Have you not seen the famous photos where a group of Japanese line up even stickers they need to paste on a international gathering? It is a compliment on how proper and order their society is. Maybe a little backhand compliment too

My American boss was retiring and was planning world trip and had plans of visiting India. Only advice I had for her was to be patient and let it sink in that lack of order and chaos will surround you in busy streets. Knowing her, I advised not to drive on Indian roads as she used to rage out on American roads or when someone broke lane rules. Asked her to visit Goa or Kerala first and get acclimatised before going to northern part of India. She was chilled out the entire journey and spent about 3 months in India. Never thought she can be so chill but she enjoyed the trip and did visit all her dream places before the pandemic.

@MATHA NOSHTO-MAN - Indian version of enjoying life is different from the western prospect... To live a balanced life that has room for pursuing Dharma (talent) Artha (Wealth), Kama (desires), Moksha (liberation)... It's sad that you will feel that way - but don't be hung up on what others have to achieve or how a country should be... Your environment is a tool and an opportunity for you to grow... If you have the talent to change it then change it and if not just don't be bogged down by it... Take it easy bro, India has to catch up with the world eventually... @MATHA NOSHTO-MAN being lazy is not always bad u know. Because lazy people are always smart and innovative because they are lazy. We agree we are lazy, but we don't consider it as a negative point. People are there who study 20 hours a day and get 80%. And some study less than 4 hours a day, still secure 95 %. May be it's a cultural difference. You can't expect India to be China. In China people are similar. They think same also. But here everyone is different than the other one. We might be late in the race, but we will go healthy and happy.

My thoughts: I rather enjoyed the video. I am a South African and we have large Indian communities here in South Africa and I have met quite a few local Indians. Very beautiful, driven, caring, passionate, giving people. When my mum died an Indian family that just moved in our apartment block heard about it and insisted on giving me food and tea (I LOVE the tea they make) that whole week (It was a very poor neighbourhood I lived in at the time). Also, I met an Indian girl on FB, she visited me a few times and we became fast friend. She calls me Unna (Brother) and I call her Acca (sister). Based on that generosity and the beautiful connections I made with South African born Indians I think visiting India, even if its a challenge, culturally, must be a wonderful experience and the people you interviewed just amplified that belief in me. I would visit India in a heartbeat.

I think Indians want to be like them because when they come they judge us, if we treat them with more attention they think that we all are after their money but actually it's because they are our country's guests and also many Indians see that they have good job opportunities and so the youngsters are attracted towards their culture and tradition more than their own
@JBHACKSAW

@Akash Sharma they are economically ahead of us. But most Indians do feel their culture is superior. Obviously if you've lived in an upper class bubble all your life, you will feel like that's not the case. But most of India is poor and rural. But they are steadfast in their value of their culture and Indians do a terrible job of assimilating in foreign cultures because our own culture is very deep rooted

Very well said man. People here are blindly following the western culture and leaving our own because of social media brainwashing or the peer pressure where everyone is trying to act more and more less indian. Good education, wisdom and introspection can only make people realize how great our culture really is. Instead of being embarrassed people need to embrace our traditions with confidence and respect or else this country will loose its identity because of stupid people who are easy to influence.

No. What I’ve learned from the pandemic is that germs are more easily spread via hands than hard surfaces like spoons. And yes, you might always wash your hands when you’re at home, but not when you’re out.
@balasundar7376
@balasundar7376 3 жыл бұрын
@@Itsme-wy9vh you have to learn why it's because people use their right hands for handshaking and uses the same to pick up nose, sneezing and coughing and inhaling the same air causes infection. So It's preferred to use your left hand while sneezing and coughing. Also there is very very less probability of getting infection while we're eating eventhough awareness of washing hands before eating is widely spread across the country during this pandemic. Also in Indian restaurants we always carefull whether the spoon is well washed and hygienic or not.may be this is one of the main reason why we prefer to use hands rather than spoons in restaurants Hope you get it. If you have anything to say that hands are unhygienic. Please it'll be very helpful to us.
