I just bought from my friend who was travelling to Tokyo yesterday and the pair will arrive tomorrow, and the colour exactly same with yours! 😂 Initially I refused to proceed because UK8.5 not available in other colourways, only black. But since the price sold was too cheap (15000 JPY) which is 35% cheaper than in my nearby storee, can't imagine if I missed the opportunity to own such good shoe. Now I can't wait to try! 😂

At first i was not a lot exited with the shoe but after some miles i really love them. The shoe really became very fun. I was going to sell it but now is my favorite novablast just ahead of the 3 which i really love.

I wish more reviews would take the shoes past 100 miles. The race for being the first to publish reviews results in a lot of reviews with 50 miles or less out there. Refreshing to see 100+ reviews are still a thing.

This shoe really changed a lot around that 60 mile mark for me. Thanks for watching, I do appreciate it!

@@justjared82 Thank you for sharing your thoughts. That has been my experience with a lot of shoes. Some come alive around 20-30mi, but a lot of shoes still come alive to me after the 50mi or even 60mi mark. That 50mi-100mi range are, in my opinion, the most important ones in a shoe review, where the shoes tell the runner what it really is. Anything below 50mi, to me is just 1st impression. Given that we want daily trainers to get us to 300, 400 or more miles, I find this race to review quite discouraging. It's quite refreshing when there are still people like yourself deviating from this annoying trend.

I have the Novablast 3.. Outsole dangerous for an old guy like me.. I run near a restaurant and the road is greasy early in the morning from the cleaning the night before.. With the Novablast 3, I need to walk 😂.. The next day I had the Puma Deviate 2 on.. Wanted to see what the hype was about the Puma grip.. I just run through it.. Slow and carful but run.. I do like the outsole on the Nimbus 26 and Glideride Max. The more I run the more I like the Glideride max ❤.

That does sound sketchy for someone of any age!! The GRM is a good one!! Thanks for your input, hope 2025 is being good to you!

Good stuff, Jared. Man, I wish ASICS would use a different rubber for the outsole on the Novablast line! I know harder rubber lasts longer, but it’s not as tacky, but the slickness Mande my NB3 a dry weather only shoe. Winters in NC are probably as bad as winters in KY for traction. I do know some people buy the TR version of the Novablast and use it for the road for that reason. I might hold off and see if the NB5 comes out in a TR version. 🤷♂️

I think most people would gladly give up a bit of longevity for better traction. Speaking of winter, I’m ready for that mess to be over!!

Great review Jared! I might have to pick up a pair. Do you prefer these or the Adidas SL2’s?
@justjared8219 күн бұрын
I prefer the NB5. I feel like they’re more stable, foam is more responsive and upper is a lot more comfortable.
@jeffsmith761719 күн бұрын
@ I have the SL2’s and really enjoy them so if the NB5’s are better, sign me up!

I think the NB5s are better, but I’m just a dummy from Kentucky!😛

Great review as always Jared. Question: do you now think it's a better shoe than the 4? I really liked the 4, it was my favorite shoe until I got my first Superblast 2. Second question: is the outsole grip about the same as the 4 or a little better? My sense from everything I've heard is that it's a bit better than the 4 but not quite as good as the SB2.
@justjared8219 күн бұрын
I have pondered this as well…I wouldn’t say it’s necessarily better than the 4, but definitely different. Of course a little softer, a bit bouncier, more breathable and a tad better traction. So maybe it is better!🤣 I really enjoyed the 4 and if a person had the 4 with plenty of life left I wouldn’t put it on the shelf just to buy the 5, but if it’s time for new shoes the 5 would be my pick over another pair of 4’s. Wow, what a long-winded answer!🥴

@@justjared82 thanks for asking! Things are still going well. Decided to take a bit of a rest day today, which is why I wasn't on Supwell. But I'm feeling pretty good. Looking forward to starting the actual structured cardiac rehab program next week.

Sometimes being economical wins for sure. Not a thing wrong with the 4’s, i still run in mine. Thanks for the input, I hope it’s warmer there than it is here!!
