In some cases, an older sister or cousin might be good to ask if you need advice about women, assuming they’ll be straight with you. Dr. Kevin Leman, a famous psychologist, said his older sister mothered him quite a bit and taught him a lot about “What is a woman?” I expect it worked considering he’s been married for about 30 years and has five kids. Delirex TY! I'm not sure if you'd call it arguing...We have had disagreements, misunderstandings, and hurt feelings, sure, but we seldom let it turn into an actual argument. (We're a bit older, and have been through--and learned from--past relationships.) We tend to address things on the spot; but if feelings are running too high, we take a time out until we cool down, *then* talk it out. But we're not after who's right/who's wrong, but what *went* wrong between us, and what we can do about it...We end with apologies (if necessary), and each of us states what we're going to do to lessen the chances of it happening again. For example, "I'll try to be a better listener", or "I won't ask you questions that require thought until you've had your morning caffeine" (I am NOT a morning person!) Then we check in, "everything ok between us now?" in case there are still any hurt feelings left to be resolved. The day after we confessed our feelings, we made our first vows: to always remember that we are friends, and to not let romance damage our friendship. We've got each other's back, we're on the same side. We're far from perfect at it, don't get me wrong! But we both value communication (no silent treatment, none of that "if you don't know, I'm not going to tell you" BS. I agree with Steve and I disagree. I have plenty of female friends that I would never date whom I hang out with all the time. Also telling one of your female friends that she is beautiful doesn't mean you want to take the shot. One of my best friends is a girl and I call her pretty all the time. It’s hard to come by oftentimes, as sometimes one of two may start falling for another and want to take it to the next level, or disappear if see there’s no chance... saying from a girls perspective and experience. Still have 1 guy friend , and I call him brother, he calls me sister. Hopefully won’t turn weird,, it’s safer that way & I Love it ❤️... Uncle Steve's telling the raw truth, just as it is. I grew up with 4 brothers, no sisters. I was such a tomboy. My brothers' friends to me were my friends. 97% of my friends were guys. When I was preparing to get married, it's a if they decided to jump at the count of 3.... they all told me it wasn't fair that I had chosen him instead of them because they'd been so close to me. They said they always had been a moment from confessing their feelings but they didn't want me to cut ties with them because they realized that they were in the friend zone. To be honest, I kinda knew it all the while because the friendships would have a bit of flirting but I was too innocent to know what to do beyond that. When I felt it was heading towards butterflies in the gut, I quickly got very brief with them because I was overwhelmed with the butterflies and didn't know what to do. I'm glad they were not dogs, but all gave my innocence a dignified acknowledgment. So, yup - it's true - there's no such a thing as a platonic friendship. Someone's working an angle!!!!

When I was in high school I had a huge crush and this guy. We became friends and hung out all the time. One day he was at my house and I took the lunge and told him I liked him.
