Furthermore, according to the brilliant linguist and cognitive scientist Noam Chomsky… “There are only two ways of looking at eliminative materialism (the idea that all things reduce to solid substance). One is that it is total gibberish until someone tells us what matter is. Until someone tells us what eliminative materialism is there can’t be such a thing as eliminative materialism and no one can tell us what matter is”. (Noam Chomsky). Equally, I’m not making any appeals to authority, but on the cognitive level Einstein utilised a more nuanced approach and demonstrated that “matter” is nothing more substantive than the curvature of space and time which is why he clearly completely rejected atheism for the belief in the fundamental nature of mind and consciousness. That is Einstein completely rejected atheism for the God of Spinoza/deism/panentheism. Similarly, Einstein’s closest friend Michelle Besso, who Einstein stated “was the greatest sounding board in Europe”, rejected atheism for the belief in the fundamental nature of absolute mind and consciousness/theism (Christianity). Equally, according to Thomas Nagel….. “Consciousness is the most conspicuous obstacle to a comprehensive naturalism that relies only on the resources of physical science. The existence of consciousness seems to imply that the physical description of the universe, in spite of its richness and explanatory power, is only part of the truth, and that the natural order is far less austere than it would be if physics and chemistry accounted for everything. If we take this problem seriously, and follow out its implications, it threatens to unravel the entire naturalistic world picture.” (Thomas Nagel)

That verse is taken out of context. God has and still does reveal Himself to people. Look at Saul. Look at Thomas. Look at the 2 men travelling after the resurrection of Jesus. Look at death experiences when people said they saw Jesus. That verse was I think said to Moses (if I remember correctly), Jesus is the image of the invisible God the scripture says. God came to Moses in His glory that's why He had to take off his sandals but when Jesus came to people they didn't have to take off their sandals. In OT only the high priest could enter into the holiest place but Jesus was made that veil and the scripture says we enter into His presence through the blood of the Lamb. Hope this makes sense
@PringleDinglesonThe3rd3 жыл бұрын
@@r.k862 whether people accept it or not, what they saw was an angel of God not God Himself, every person that has “seen God” has only seen an angel on the behalf of God, being since angels and God are very similar in “appearance” and attributes (angels on a lesser scale of appearance and attributes though) and angels come playing the Role of God to man because Man cannot see God at all, if Man cannot even glimpse at *lesser* angels without trembling in fear what makes you think they can stand the presence of God, I know if I saw God I would die, why? We are talking about a being more advanced in knowledge than Stephen Hawking, Isaac Newton, and Albert Einstein combined, a being more powerful than the tremendous black hole, the Creator of septillions of stars and octillions of planets. If man fears the presence of the lesser angels not even mentioning the greater angels, what makes you think man would not give up the ghost on the spot if they saw God?

Knowledge is a learned experience, whereas wisdom is a gift given unto those that look for the answers that are harder than the learned world's attempts at gaining the ultimate knowledge, which is unavailable in books. We are beings with a brain which has numerous chemical reactions preprogrammed, and those chemical reactions are there to run the human body, so our brains must have a reason other than utilizing it for keeping us alive. I would say the mind is there for big thoughts, logic and reasoning to conclude bigger truths.... But why? Because we've been given the gift of life to be purposeful for our creator GOD. For the person whom walks from God is not sent to hell, they started the walk and talk the talk which foreshadows the end result. We have many mercies which a loving GOD has given each and everyone of us, as we are introduced to Jesus Christ we are then offered God's Refining At Christ Exaltation, also known as GRACE. With the knowledge of Christ lived out and experienced through our redefined lives we will have faith in a God whom loves us all, but works of our involvement within the church and through society, we will be seen as lights in a dark world. Be the light in a darkened world, but be humble and meek whilst doing the good for a God which keeps you within his will.

But those who believe in Gods sovereignty, will believe God can speak through a radio, TV show, a random stranger, etc. but where is this line that is drawn between His sovereignty and our free will?
@paulwilfridhunt3 жыл бұрын
@@OnlyOnChannelD It’s certainly an interesting subject isn’t it. God is running the show or as you put it, He is sovereign, and of course He knows all things, and therefore knows those who will be faithful to Him. And that faithfulness when it happens to us is an act of our free will isn’t it. And God knowing this helps us to do exactly that. But He’s not going against our free will. He’s helping us to do what He knows we want to do which is be faithful to Him. But sometimes we need a bit of help to do it. Paul the apostle is an example of this. God knew that if He did all that he did to Saul from Tarsus, throw him off his horse and all the rest of it, Saul would become Paul the Apostle. But all of this wouldn’t have worked on the Caiaphas because he was never going to be faithful to God.

@@paulwilfridhunt very interesting. I guess I get tied up on how, for instance, I’m in my car, mad, trying not to hate a certain person, finally decide to hate the person, knowing it’s wrong, but the thing is a guy, walks past my car, mumbling to himself but I catch him saying “thou shall not hate”. I don’t expect to have an argument with you over if that was Gods work right there or not. But my thing is how is that man in free will, did not God take over him to say that to help me? No average man can know I was having this going through my head for the few hours and just so happen at the specific moment say the right thing at the right time. This type of stuff happens to me all the time with people, notifications, everything, birds, wind, weather, God is so powerful. So I’m at the point where I feel everyone and everything is God or least in His control, who am I then? Where do I fit in all this?
@paulwilfridhunt3 жыл бұрын
@@OnlyOnChannelD That’s very interesting. Perhaps we can say that God has the licence obtained from the work at Calvary by Jesus Christ to intervene in the lives of the redeemed. And perhaps this is constantly happening to all the believers, but in some cases such as your own, it is much more pronounced and therefore noticeable. I think it’s rather marvellous that you’re seeing everything the way you are. What a delightful state to be in. Maybe the guy walking past mumbling thou shalt not hate was actually an angel. God is working on you. Please tell us more. Hebrews 13:2 King James Version 2 Be not forgetful to entertain strangers: for thereby some have entertained angels unawares.

You cannot remove the value of an individual by any action they take or you take. If so, then it is a Subjective (illusionary) value you place on them or yourself. The bottom line is, either we all have value for being or none of us do. If the latter, your Utility assigned your value, not you. To say the individual gives value, is to say their value is at least 2 seperate things at once (other's value for you & your value for you)& that makes no sense. Unless value A is value B, you lack value, since it isn't a set value. Gold is only worth something if people value it, thus ultimately it is worthless. He is treating people like that. That is a sad state of affairs for us all. It is so intuitive that people have value. I think you need a real reason to reject. He didn't offer reasons, just a rejection.

Many fall back on biological instinct as a means of why they do what they do, it is the deepest level they can fathom. The problems arise when we willfully go against our instincts (ie to save a drowning child at the expense of my own safety). Instincts tell us what we do by default, it cannot tell us what we ought to do. The ought is conviction, a struggle between what we want to do and what we should do. Those who profess atheism will will deny their own reality to defend their position, you will rarely see them live out their positions.

Naturally we are selfish. We only behave well when others are watching. This is why God has standards that we do good even when no one is watching. It challenges us to want to do good with no selfish gain attached. But to an atheist this is just how we’re built because of evolution. Even if programmed is the answer. I still believe we have a designer that programmed us that way. Life is too finely tune to not have a designer.

I have an argument that I have not been able to get answers to. With over 120+ responses, the 4 questions at the end still have not even been attempted to be answered. One of the people referred me to here and said to ask here, so here I am. "How can god be most just and most merciful at the same time when by definition of most, just and mercy, make that as impossible as a married bachelor. I will now give the full argument. premise 1 in order for one to be defined as most merciful, they must never punish any wrongdoings and always forgive them. If they even punish one person, they lose the title of most merciful as the possibility of someone else never punishing one person would take that title away. premise 2 In order for one to be defined as most just, they must always punish any wrongdoings. If they do not punish even one wrongdoer, the possibility of someone who punishes every wrong doing would take that away. premise 3 One cannot be most merciful and most just at the same time as they cannot punish every wrongdoer and forgive without punishment every wrongdoer. Its the same as a married bachelor is not possible by definition. conclusion God cannot be most just and most merciful at the same time. Now I will give an example. There are 4 judges and 10 guilty criminals. Judge #1 orders punishment for all 10 criminals and does not forgive without punishment a single one. Judge #2 forgives without punishment all 10 criminals. Judge #3 forgives without punishment 9 of them and punishes 1 of them. Judge #4 punishes 9 of them and forgives without punishment 1 of them. Which judge is the most just? Which judge is the most merciful? Is judge #3 either most merciful or most just? Is judge #4 most merciful or most just?"

I am exhausted been a long 14-hour work day but I will answer your question. It's actually not as complicated as you think. Sometimes true Mercy is to allow someone with your free will to accept consequences for their actions there are times when God shows graysquare Mercy in the sense that he will relieve you of that punishment or Strife or trouble you may go through because of something you decided to do or not to but there are times when he allow suffering to take place because it does help us grow or make a stronger or learn from as well when we suffer because we chose to jurong Ashley accepting the consequences are asking is Mercy if he always made us robot then they'll be no point to Mercy and mercy can work both ways just as love works both ways sometimes you have to let someone go and learn on their own in order to let them actually learn if you always try to stop them protect them or not let them learn from something how are they going to change or grow a lot more I could say but that's very simple. I hope that helps.

At the end of each day with all my muscle aches, all I wanted was some food in my gut and some sleep. I know I was not at full potential. I appreciate you giving it a shot right now. If you want to take back anything said here to change to something better,l no problem, I will totally understand. " It's actually not as complicated as you think." I never said it was. To me it is as simple as realizing a married bachelor is impossible. I only need to know the definition of 3 words. "Sometimes true Mercy is to allow someone with your free will to accept consequences for their actions there are times when God shows graysquare Mercy in the sense that he will relieve you of that punishment or Strife or trouble you may go through because of something you decided to do or not to but there are times when he allow suffering to take place because it does help us grow or make a stronger or learn from as well when we suffer because we chose to jurong Ashley accepting the consequences are asking is Mercy if he always made us robot then they'll be no point to Mercy and mercy can work both ways just as love works both ways sometimes you have to let someone go and learn on their own in order to let them actually learn if you always try to stop them protect them or not let them learn from something how are they going to change or grow a lot more I could say but that's very simple. I hope that helps." WOW, that was all one sentence pretty much. I am going to time just how long its going to take me to try and understand that all. I have spent 7 minutes trying to understand this sentence. I THINK I get some of the points you are trying to make but I am going to have to ask some questions to try and fully comprehend what you are saying. Even just trying to break apart this sentence is hard but I am going to try. If I am getting something wrong correct me. "Sometimes true Mercy is to allow someone with your free will to accept consequences for their actions there are times when God shows graysquare Mercy" First, what is greysquare mercy? I googled it and I get things talking about star wars. Is it some kind of reference to star wars? The definition of mercy is to forgive even though deserving. I dont think allowing someone to accept the consequences of their actions has anything to do with mercy. Where is the forgiveness? How does my free will have anything to do with someone else accepting the consequences for their actions? Correct me if I am understanding this wrong. " in the sense that he will relieve you of that punishment or Strife or trouble you may go through because of something you decided to do or not to but there are times when he allow suffering to take place because it does help us grow or make a stronger or learn from as well when we suffer because we chose to jurong Ashley accepting the consequences are asking is Mercy" First, what is jurong Ashley? When I google this I end up with some parks and people. I do not know what that means to accept jurong Ashley. If he relieves that punishment (forgives it) then that is mercy, but then you lose justice. How does allowing suffering to take place to learn lessons have anything to do with justice or mercy? Justice in most cases is punishment of the deserving. Mercy is to forgive even though deserving. Is this suffering you speak of a punishment? Are these people deserving of this suffering if that suffering is punishment? How is accepting the consequences mercy? Mercy comes from the victim or judge, its forgiveness even though deserving. The guilty party accepting the consequences has nothing to do with mercy, its just as you say acceptance. " if he always made us robot then they'll be no point to Mercy and mercy can work both ways just as love works both ways sometimes you have to let someone go and learn on their own in order to let them actually learn if you always try to stop them protect them or not let them learn from something how are they going to change or grow a lot more I could say but that's very simple." No where in my argument or my example is free will taken away. If we are just programmed like a robot, there is no mercy, no love, no need for justice, no forgivness, no need of law, ect ect ect. We would all just do what we are programmed to do. But none of this addresses anything about my augment, so I am just going to leave it at that and move on. I dont mean to sound rude and I am not trying to put you down or anything, this could be more about my reading ability then your sentence. That was really hard to understand and I still dont know if I really understand what you were saying. Is there any way you can break that down and not use terms like jurong Ashley and graysquare Mercy? Maybe come back after you have rested up and are at full potential? I would like to end with just one question here. Why did you not answer the 4 questions at the bottom of the example?

@@macmac1022 I will have to leave here a couple different post to answer your questions first of all, sorry for the trouble with the typing with my microphone because I'm legally blind and it was exhausting so I was not able to check all my words so primarily be a run-on sentence and also a lot of misspellings from the microphone sorry. Just because there is dictionary definitions for a word, that does not mean. Other definitions. Mercy can be other things as well not just relief from pain or trouble or strife. And example I will give you is I've actually known someone who did not want to be relieved from any of their troubles or Strife they did not want forgiveness they wanted to suffer they wanted to Waller in their pity. God forces them like a robot to change their heart to change their Direction in their free will pass send that's not Mercy do you understand why I say it's not Mercy you don't force things to be loving or love you don't force someone to do things just to make them be doing what you want them to do. You are right though definition of mercy as in the dictionary is mostly through the Bible where it represents. In a Crux or nutshell that in fact is why Christ took on the cross and all the pain before the cross because when he took on Humanity with this Divinity it was to suffer and went through what we did the difference is he was guilty of nothing yet we are guilty of our sins all the pain and the suffering for us our sins on the cross so that we could have the free will choice to give her Lies over and to be saved to be relieved from our pain and suffering to be relieved from all of our Strife to his doing Everett Ross from his miracles from his raising from the dead from his love for us. I could speak very long on this but that would be like a dissertation or thesis, I'll post this and look at your next point.

@@macmac1022 part 2 which is the answer to your four questions. Oh so sorry I skipped for those yesterday I was really that tired and forgot about them while I was talking to you. That was my bad. So please show me mercy in that there's no pun intended. Also I use the keyword yesterday which still stands true I said complicated. What I'm referring to is even though it is not complicated in the form of English meaning to understand the breakdown of the work they're being practice is complicated such as the examples of gave me of the judges. Simply put now, you cannot put all those judges in a box take them out okay okay which charges which which one is wrong which one is right. Because we are human beings and human beings are frail and or sinful and can make judgments or make loving judgments and even those loving judgments could be wrong or perfectly sound or just. You left out minifi tails in your examples, for example say 10 kids went before a judge who are in trouble for stealing for the very first time that kind of judgment have to take place in a different mindset in 10 adults who rob a bank. The kids were in trouble for the first time maybe they were a runaway and hungry there's lots of reasons or information you left out to determine the answers to your questions so I can only assume or africain information to the best of my ability from your questions so using the kids as the example obviously all 10 should be showed Mercy but there are times when a judge is burnt out and threw the bench for 40 years it might be hard for his heart is hardened and when your heart is hardened and therefore you may have a stronger judgment not necessary so adjudged workout may say you can't you need to go to jail for a week learn your lesson that's not necessarily the case every situation for the most part is judged on its own merits its own examples its own situations in life but it doesn't always happen that way it's hard to do so when you going to have a justice system such as we do with the penal code. And even an example of 10 adults being guilty maybe still hard to judge because what if out of the 10 people that were guilty of robbing a bank as adults one was physically forced to do it they said if you don't help us rub his back we will kill your whole family there would still be wrong for throbbing the bag but God would show understanding and mercy to their situation especially if mentally they're not capable of really understanding how to make a decision with that kind of stress level would show Mercy to how he wanted to save his family even in the Bible where two women lied about spies that were hiding you're not supposed to lie but they did to protect the man who is being pursued to be chilled a man who is innocent and who was going to be killed. I know you mentioned for different parts of your example but this should really answer that for you if you want more info I'll give you more info but you've got to see why is that complex it is not in understanding the words that I said but you can't be so cookie cutter with your examples where human beings we can be different people different mindsets different personalities we walk with God differently even Christians have different levels are values of morality because of how they've been shaped by others now that's not supposed to be how it is but that is what it is with his Mercy take as one person at a time every heart is different every person is different you can't just judge called him in the same way in all situations sometimes you can but not always.
