What lots of people (even pastors) don't (yet) understand. God created us according to His own image and likeness. Godly. Mankind/the first Adam fell. The image of God in man got lost. That's why there is all this predicament on earth (selfishness, greed, lust, wars, sicknesses, death, etc). We are all born into that mess. For the fall of man a perfect atoning sacrifice had to be made.... that is what God did in Christ. With His own once and for all perefect sacrifice, He paid the debt for the fall of man for us, so we can be indwelled by His Spirit again and finally receive the divine life of the ages back, the first Adam let got of in the fall of man. An amazing act of grace and love by our creator. That is what you see happening in Christ's first disciples. They too healed all and walked in unselfish love. And yes.... that is still avaible today. The holy blood is in place, the Holy Spirit is here to give us understanding, power and transform us back to origin. Not to be debated about, but to be embraced and be-come. So: The Kingdom of God already came. Through Christ, in Spiritform, in those that understand. Hence the divine healing miracles we experience. God manifested in Christ to give us back the divine life mankind lost in the fall of Adam. Christ, the exact image of the invisible God. The image we were created after in Gen 1. The image we lost in the fall of man. The image that can be freely restored by Christ's blood and Holy Spirit working IN us. What a plan. What a solution. What a love. What a God. Jesus is amazing. It is the ultimate conclusion of the word and plan of God. God came full circle. He Himself stooped down from glory to restore us back to original created value: Christlikeness. Walking in divine healing power and unselfish love. Jesus, born of the Spirit of God, filled with the spirit of God. The "Son" of God, the incarnated word, God in the flesh. For three years He healed all, raised the dead, casted out demons, controlled nature, spoke pure divine truth. He said: "Follow Me. If you see Me, you see the Father. The Father and I are one. The glory I have IN My Father, I give to you. It pleases the Father to give you His Kingdom/Holy Spirit/divine nature. I will send Holy Spirit, the same as Me, He will be IN you, guide you into truth and give you explosive power. The same miracles i do, you will do too, because you will understand that the Father is IN Me and I am IN you. Freely I give you My Kingdom/Holy Spirit/divine nature, heal the sick, raise the dead, cast out demons, freely I give, freely share" Etc, etc, etc. I have experienced thousands of beautifull healing miracles through the power of Holy Spirit IN me already. Broken bones, cancers, covid, all kinds of infirmities healed in seconds. Demons manifesting and casted out by a simple "get out, in Jesus name". Jesus. De name above all names. In Him all power and wisdom is sourced and.... He calls us one with Him. God in man and man in God again. C'mon Jesus!! So.... again: God stooped down IN Christ to restore us back to Gen 1:27 were He said: "Let us make man according to our image and likeness and let them have authority.....": walk as Christ. Christ, the exact image of the invisible God. The image we were created after and being restored to by His atoning blood for the fall of man and indwelling Holy Spirit. You are free to receive this original divine life of the ages by Holy Spirit of Christ/God. Ask Him to guide you into truth. Read the Gospel of John and fall in love with your creator. You are not made for the fall of man and its effects, but for the image/glory of God and to walk like Christ. Holy Spirit is the guide and transforming power that will get you there. Amazing grace. A big leap in faith can be made when we start realizing we are already IN Christ, IN the last Adam. Free from the fall! Loved! Growing into awareness of our new (yet old) godly identity. Changing by Holy Spirit. The most fullfilled life ever. Paul healed all on Malta. He understood and wrote: "As in the first Adam ALL died (lost the divine nature), so also ALL were made alive IN Christ to walk in Zoë (= divine life) again". "IN Christ (the last Adam) we are co-cruisified (dead to the fall and its effects), co-raised (justified/made righteousness, holy, blameless, above reproach), co-seated (one with Him)" "The fullness of deity dwells in Christ and YOU HAVE BEEN MADE COMPLETE IN HIM, who is the head of every principality and power". So.... thank you Jesus! Thank you for redeeming me from the fall of man. Thank you for your Holy Spirit that makes this new (yet old) divine life come alive in me. You are amazing! In the shadow of Peter the sick healed... He understood too and wrote: "By Gods power (Holy Spirit) and knowing Christ, we have become partakers of the divine nature and have escaped the fall of man". The divine life of the ages has been returned to us by Jesus once and for all perfect atoning sacrifice for the debt of the fall of man and His indwelling Holy Spirit in us. Jesus/God is amazing!!! Ask Him to give you revelation and change you to the way it was before the fall of man: Christlikeness. He will do so. For it is written: "the Spirit brings forth after His own kind". "I have come to give you Zoë (divine life) in abundance...."

Grace and Peace to everyone. The guy who listed supposed internal inconsistencies within the gospels presented an inadequate case. None of what he said falsified the texts or demonstrated any contradictions. His strongest argument was essentially that the gospels can't be trusted because they don't all include the sermon on the mount. John explained in the final verse of his gospel that all the books in the world couldn't contain the events of Jesus's life, so it's reasonable that the gospel writers would seek to diversify their content so that they could collectively include more about Jesus's life. I personally believe that the reason why the sermon on the mount is listed in only two gospels is because scripture says that only two or three witnesses are needed to establish actionable testimony. We have those two witnesses of that sermon in Matthew and Luke.
@colinmatts3 жыл бұрын
So how do you know that the bible is anything other than stories? "John explained in the final verse of his gospel that all the books in the world couldn't contain the events of Jesus's life," anyone could just say that. It doesn't make it true. We don't know that there were any eye witnesses to anything in the bible. All we have is the word of some anonymous scribes

The problem is that the gospel that people in all nations (you and me-Gentiles) need to hear; is not found in Mark, Matthew, Luke and John. The gospel that you and I need to hear, comes from Paul. Paul was the chosen vessel to bring a particular gospel message and method to the Gentiles, to the people in all nations. Paul got it not from men but by revelation of Jesus Christ. Galatians 1:6 I marvel that ye are so soon removed from him that called you into the grace of Christ unto another gospel: 7 Which is not another; but there be some that trouble you, and would pervert the gospel of Christ. 8 But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed. 9 As we said before, so say I now again, if any man preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed. 10 For do I now persuade men, or God? or do I seek to please men? for if I yet pleased men, I should not be the servant of Christ. 11 But I certify you, brethren, that the gospel which was preached of me is not after man. 12 For I neither received it of man, neither was I taught it, but by the revelation of Jesus Christ. The Jews had their own gospel message and a particular method to get saved. It was in the first four gospels. Those first four books were written to and preached to, THE JEW, two thousand years ago. You won't find Gentiles having to confess their sins with their mouth audibly and then getting their body dunked fully in water for the forgiveness of sins. Because you and I get buried in baptism. You don't get buried in water. Paul did NOT preach the first four books when He was sent to preach to the Gentiles. Fourteen years after he was sent to the Gentiles, Paul went up to Jerusalem to show Peter and the other Apostles and disciples THAT GOSPEL that he was preaching. Because it was different. Galatians 2:1 Then fourteen years after I went up again to Jerusalem with Barnabas, and took Titus with me also. 2 And I went up by revelation, and communicated unto them that gospel which I preach among the Gentiles, but privately to them which were of reputation, lest by any means I should run, or had run, in vain. Paul's gospel is the book of Romans. Paul's epistles (1 Corinthians through Philemon) are consider the preaching of Jesus Christ kept secret since the world began, but NOW made known by Paul (Romans 16:25-27). God has a commandment to all real believers who have been sent the Holy Spirit. The commandment is to get established in God's Word the way God shows you to get established in the commandment itself; namely; to START YOUR READING of God's Word AT THE BOOK OF ROMANS, and to get your preaching of Jesus that has been kept secret, FROM PAUL'S epistles, and to also read from the scriptures of the prophets when you read. It is a commandment you are expected to obey by faith.

I think the key is, a lot of people think the Bible as a singular book. While it is all gods word breathed, they were separate written accounts. They have all been gathered in one book for convenience. It’s not Like these books were all written at the same time. They are just as much historical documents as any other historical documents we use for other historical knowledge.
@DRayL_3 жыл бұрын
Correct. The Bible isn't a singular book. It was written down separately until certain texts were concluded to be "part of the Canon". What can't be considered correct is saying "they were "gods word breathed". This is a faith claim. We also cannot conclude the claims in those separate writings to be factual history. Just what someone wrote down. Places,....maybe even people,....perhaps. But not the claims of "the supernatural".

Thus says The Lord: For indeed, there are many gifts of the Spirit which I bestow upon all those who love Me, many gifts given to those who are willing to give up everything and follow Me. Thus Timothy is just one among many who hear My voice, one voice in a great chorus growing ever louder, of the number I am sending. Yet to him did I say, “Write that which I speak, and place it in a book”; also commanding him to share that which the Spirit causes him to understand. For the latter is that which My people call inspired of God or inspired in the Spirit; and the former, that which the prophets hear, the voice of The Living God. Therefore listen to Timothy, for he speaks for Me, he hears My voice. Behold, he has sat in My presence and strives to obey all I ask of him. Do not say then, nor conceive any notion within your heart, that he may be deceived by the devil. Or have you never read these Scriptures: Every kingdom divided against itself will surely be brought to ruin, and every house divided against itself will collapse. If satan also is divided against himself, how then will his kingdom stand?[1] Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles?... For a good tree brings forth good fruit, But a corrupt tree brings forth evil fruit; Neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit... And every tree that does not bring forth Good fruit is hewn down and cast into the fire... Thus by their fruits you shall know them.[2] And was I speaking only of the false prophets, or of the true also? Is it not also implied that I speak of their message? And what of all these self-appointed scholars, teachers, pastors, preachers, ministers and priests, who have set themselves up as an authority? What fruit do they bear according to the Scriptures? Come out from among them! No longer embrace their corrupt doctrines, nor take part in their filthy traditions! Stand apart from those who mix the holy with the profane, depart from that which is covered in purple and scarlet, and no more practice that which is an abomination in the eyes of God![3] For it is the humble, penitent man who hears God, one who is willing to give up his life in this world for My sake. Therefore take My words to heart, and understand: Any man who shares My Word with others is My servant. And any man who hears My voice, in whose hand I have placed the Trumpet, is My prophet. Even all those I send are My apostles. And any who heed these words, and also do them, shall be called a friend of God. www.thevolumesoftruth.com/Know_That_Which_Has_Been_Poured_Out,_The_Word_of_God

As we come to terms with the realisation of God’s never ending greatness, that’s in the realms of infinity itself; And accept this with all acceptance, We realise that forever more, as we travel endlessly throughout all of eternity, we, because of this acceptance, will obtain a greater humility that naturally results from realising the truth of this inevitability. However without Jesus Christ our Lord and Saviour and great high priest to soothe, strengthen and befriend us, Our journey throughout all of eternity might be bleak and lonely. But we the believers are friends of Him who is God, in a form we can understand, namely that of a man. And we love Him because He has given us the gift of eternal life, at the expense of His own life, when he was tortured and tormented before being nailed to a cross at Calvary. John 15:13 King James Version 13 Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.

How does God reveal himself to you Jacob, what is your very best evidence that he's real? Lets talk about this without either side having to resort to mocking or name calling. @@JohnCashin I concur with you John on 'not wanting to bother you' I'm sure that a few Christians on here think that I come here to try to take away people's faith or to ridicule their beliefs. That is absolutely not the case. I come here because the whole belief in God/Jesus thing is something that is very close to my heart in that, I was raised to believe it was true. I've never told any Christian that they should stop believing something they hold dear. I'm grateful that Cliffe allows us to have these conversations. If something is true, it should be able to withstand any amount of questioning. Intelligent Design as a scientific concept was disproved in 2005. It's survived as a philosophical argument but it's not even remotely scientific because it's not based on verifiable evidence, it doesn't explain related observations with a measurable degree of accuracy, it offers no mechanisms, posits no laws, has no practical applications, is untestable and unfalsifiable.

I already have. Meyer works for the Discovery Institute, the creationist organisation responsible for the wedge document. Look up Discovery Institute wedge strategy. It's an extremely well funded decades long religious movement to undermine science education in the US by spreading as much disinformation about it as possible so that creation can be taught in schools. The wedge document exists, it was leaked online, and Meyer has even admitted to its existence. He just lies about the implications. Meyer and Michael Behe, ID's 2 biggest proponents, have both admitted under cross examination in court that ID fails to meet the minimum requirements for a scientific theory. Neither man has ever been able to produce evidence because they have no measurable way of determining teleonomic from teleological design. This is not news. ID as a scientific concept was disproved in 2005. The Discovery Institute refuses to accept this. They're infamously dishonest. For example, you may have heard of a site called "Evolution news"? It's a creationist site masquerading as a genuine evolution science site, and all the information on it is false. Evolution news is owned by the Discovery Institute. It's their propaganda wing.

Sir William Ramsay,The Archaeologist who Discovered Jesus. Sir William Ramsay ranks among the greatest of all the archaeologists, and was by all accounts, an intellect of the very first order. At the time of his death in 1939, he was considered the foremost authority on the history of Asia Minor. In his life, he held the post of Professor of Classical Art and Architecture at Oxford, and he was appointed Regius Professor of Humanity (the Latin Professorship) at Aberdeen. He was knighted in 1906 to mark his distinguished service to the world of scholarship. Ramsay also gained three honorary fellowships from Oxford colleges, nine honorary doctorates from British, Continental and North American universities and became an honorary member of almost every association devoted to archaeology and historical research. But long before all these accolades were heaped upon him, he was just another Oxford undergraduate, and an agnostic. He believed, as did most of his peers, that the gospel’s accounts of the life of Christ were mostly an accrual of mythology and legend. According to the thinking of the day, the gospels were written so long after the events they purported to represent, they had very little historic value. After graduation, Ramsay’s area of interest was the Asia Minor of the first century AD. He took with him a copy of Luke’s "Acts of the Apostles," not because he thought it would be of much use, but because there were so few ancient travelers through that area of the world who recorded their experiences. He reasoned that although "Acts" was an obvious forgery, it still might have some tidbits of information that could shed some light on his discoveries. He excavated throughout Greece and Turkey for over thirty years. He broke the ground in many of the ancient city sites. He excavated Ephesus, Iconium, Philippi, and many others. At the end of thirty years his opiniVon of Luke as an historian had undergone a dramatic reversal. He knew through firsthand discoveries that Luke was one of those individuals who were characteristically accurate in the information they presented. Ramsay made discovery after discovery that showed Luke was right and his critics mistaken. It got to the point that Ramsay found himself depending on Luke for interpretation of many of his finds. Also, as the evidence began coming in, Ramsay found it overwhelmingly in favor of an early first century date for "Acts." As "Acts" is a continuation of the gospel of "Luke," then "Luke" also had to have been written at about that time.Those two facts meant to Ramsay that Luke got his information from eyewitness sources, and also, the early church, which was still filled with eyewitnesses, accepted Luke's gospel as an accurate biography of the Jesus Christ they had personally known. No serious historian suggests they were guilty of deception, they were enduring incredible persecution, precisely because of their belief in Jesus. They were certainly true believers. But what did they believe? While their memories conceivably could have been fuzzy about certain details of Jesus’ life, it stretches credulity way past the breaking point to assume they were mistaken about the main point the gospels make, that Jesus Christ was the greatest miracle worker in recorded history, and that they had SEEN Him resurrected from the dead. On the basis of those facts, Ramsay felt compelled to accept Jesus Christ as the gospels presented Him, the Son of God, the Savior, Who died on a Roman cross, paying for his, William Ramsay's sins, and Who rose from the dead three days later, defeating death. Sir William Ramsay went to his death trusting this Lord Jesus Christ as his Savior from sin. Information gotten from “The Bearing of Recent Discoveries on the Trustworthiness of the New Testament,” written by Sir William Ramsay. Are You Good Enough to go to Heaven? (The 10 Commandment Test) The Bible is supernatural in origin, therefore take heed to its promise of Heaven and warning of Hell. The Ten Commandments says “Thou shalt not kill.” Have you ever murdered? If you have you are a murderer. It says “Thou shalt not bear false witness.” Have you ever lied? If you have you are a liar. (Think:If one little murder would make you a murderer, then one little lie makes you a liar.) It says “Thou shalt not steal.” Have you ever stolen? Ever? Anything? If you have you are a thief. It says “Thou shalt not take the name of the LORD thy God in vain.” Have you ever used the name God or Jesus as cuss words. If you have you are a blasphemer. Jesus said that if we even look at someone with lust, we are adulterers at heart. Have you ever looked with lust? We have only looked at five of the commandments, yet if God were to judge you by the 10 commandments would you be innocent or guilty? If you have said yes to any of these questions, you are guilty and cannot stand before a holy God. Do you really think a Holy God is going to let murderers, liars, thieves, blasphemers and adulterers into heaven? The Bible says. “. . . all liars shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone.” (Revelation 21:8) You desperately need a Savior.The Bible says: But God commendeth His love toward us in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. (Romans 5:8) 2000 years ago, Jesus Christ, God the Son, died on the cross and paid for all your sins. The Bible teaches that He literally took the entire punishment that was coming to us for our sins, so that we could be forgiven and freely allowed into Heaven. He rose from the dead, and now wants to forgive you and save you from the sins that condemn you. He will give you a salvation that will not only forgive you, but it will turn you away from those sins that are destroying you. If you will repent of your sins, and trust Him for forgiveness and salvation, He promises: “Believe (trust in, rely on, cling to) on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved.” (Acts

Theology to secular people is like explaining physics to a baby. Some people can not think so high and there's no point explaining. It's ultimately emotional than intellecual anyway, people get blind spots in the mind for moral reasons. It comes down to this: people want power, morality hinders that persuit. So the mind can preform many tricks to avoid what might be theologically true. You can change words around, rewrite history, forge documents, create distractions, many ways to lie to yourself. Millions of people have mental disorders like narcissism and psychopathy, and make everyone else to think their way by force. Such types are unable to see beyond a subjective light so you can not articulate a concept that suggests that they are not ultimate. So you're describing nonsense to them. Also, narcs are demon possessed so the demons wouldn't allow them to process theological concepts.

To answer your example, the Quaran was after the Bible, also, the Bible directly proclaims who God is, what God has and is doing and lastly, on the Quaran it states that the Godpels are true and ought to be believed and trusted. The Bible is the only book that gives all humans value, puts women equal with men, and has a God that humbles himself in order to live among us and pays our debt of sin. The WAGE of sin is death. Death is a not a punishment but a payment. Jesus(God) pays the price for us but we have to accept it. The second guy seems to think that the kids being murdered in Bethlehem is super important, and there's no way someone could have written the story of Jesus decades later without bringing up that point. That seems very odd to me. That's like thinking it's impossible to write that "my friend John Doe was born in 2001 in New York City", but didn't bring up the whole Twin Towers thing. It's certainly possible that some biographer *may* choose to see that as an important aspect of John Doe's birth, but it certainly isn't a necessary requirement, as this guy tries to claim. Either way, if his criticism is valid, then it literally proves the New Test is very close to the events it describes. THE single biggest event to occur in their entire lives, and the entire history of the Jewish religion for a thousand years, occurred in 70 AD, the Roman destruction of Jerusalem and the holy Temple. Jesus prophesies this in Matthew for instance (therefore secular scholars date Mark to after 70 AD, because obviously prophecies can't be true). Acts and none of the Epistles, nor the Revelation even so much as mention the killing of approximately 1.1 million Jews, and the seeming destruction of their entire religion. That's just the point though, isn't it. This guy didn't come up with this criticism himself. Secular and atheist Bible scholars do this all the time. If this silly criticism is true, it literally proves that their dating is all wrong, and the New Test is much closer to the events the describe than the try to claim.

@GraftedOliveBranch3 жыл бұрын
Hi Alexander. I would say that your friend has a fairly weak and uneducated argument against Christianity. If you look at the life of the apostle Paul, he was advancing very quickly beyond most of the other Pharisees within his inner circle. He had absolutely everything to gain from continuing his life as a Pharisee, yet nothing to gain (in the eyes of his peers) by giving up his religious beliefs and his position of authority as a Pharisee. Yet Paul encountered the risen Christ on the road to Damascus, and that completely changed him. He gave up on his former way of life as a Pharisee, and chose to follow Christ. In his letter to the Philippians, chapter 3, Paul writes about a few of the reasons he had to boast about, by being a Pharisee... Yet, in Philippians 3:7 he clearly states that everything he had to gain as a Pharisee, is basically insignificant and worthless when those temporary things were compared to knowing Christ. In Philippians 3:7 Paul writes - "But whatever gain I had, i counted as loss for the sake of Christ. Indeed, I count everything as loss because of the surpassing worth of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord. For his sake I have suffered the loss of all things and count them as rubbish, in order that I may gain Christ and be found in him, not having a righteousness of my own that comes from the law, but that which comes through faith in Christ, the righteousness from God that depends on faith that I may know him and the power of his resurrection, and may share his sufferings, becoming like him in his death, that by any means possible I may attain the resurrection from the dead". So, There you have a person (Paul) who had the opportunity to gain everything from NOT turning to Jesus Christ. Yet, he threw it all away because he knew that having a relationship with God was far more important than chasing the praise and riches of this world... There are more examples I could give you but that example of Paul was the first one that came to mind. God bless you brother. Greetings from Australia. EDIT: I hope that makes sense to you?... Let me know.

However, as Cliffe said, does this affect the narrative of Jesus coming to save us and the world?
@bonnie43uk3 жыл бұрын
Hi Billy, it seems to me things have always been the same regardless of whether Jesus came to save us and the world, was the population of the planet aware that the creators son had just died for all of mankinds sins the day after he died on the cross? Where in the New Testament does God say specifically and incontrovertibly that he is going to take away all mans wrongdoings by having himself crucified? .. and he's doing this in front of how many people? ... for millions upon millions of people. For me, the whole thing does not make logical sense. Esp if, after 3 days he comes back to life, then flies up into the clouds to live in eternal bliss in heaven?, Isn't a sacrifice something you give up, forever.? Any compassionate mother would, if given the choice sacrifice her own life for that of her child. If she came back to life a few days later, then it's not really a sacrifice is it?
@billyholly3 жыл бұрын
@@bonnie43uk Hey, bonnie!! How have you been? About the sacrifice, Jesus is still sacrificing Himself to this day. He is washing away our sins to this day and has never stopped. Cliffe talks about it on this clip, I believe. Jesus was fulfilling the scriptures from the Old Testament by being the sacrifice. All this was written, over 100 prophecies in about 30 categories. Jesus "did this" in front of enough people that Christianity grew exponentially. He especially appeared to the 12 chickens who went into hiding when Jesus was arrested, crucified, and then the Romans came looking for them. What then changed these cowards? They saw Jesus. The 500 mentioned is quickly questioned by skeptics but since these 500 lived RIGHT WHERE THE 12 BEGAN THEIR PREACHING, they could have been quickly refuted by the people of that town. If it were all a lie, they would have started their preaching elsewhere but the Disciples chose to begin in Jerusalem, where it all took place. It's best we go one question at a time, again, if that is OK with you.

@@billyholly Thanks for that billy, always good to hear from you and to get your perspective. Yes, this whole sacrifice thing never seems to make sense to me. I've said many times in these comments that any wrongdoings I commit, belong solely to me.. i own those wrongdoings, they are part of who I am, as the expression goes, you take me "warts and all". I would not feel comfortable with someone paying any kind of price for something I did. And even if someone did pay a price for my wrongdoing, ultimately it doesn't erase my guilt. Nor would I want it to. Surely it's better to take ownership of our own 'sins' and to accept them, and hopefully learn from them. We can also of course ask forgiveness, .. not to Jesus, but from the person we've wronged. That makes much more sense to me. The more I hear this claim that Jesus died for our sins, the more it doesn't add up to me anyway. I asked someone this question this morning, where in the New Testament does Jesus clearly explain to anyone that he is going to die for the sins of mankind, where can I find Jesus saying that?

@@bonnie43uk The most obvious place Jesus, Himself, says it is in the Book of Matthew 26:28, at the Last Supper, "...this is my blood of the covenant, which will be shed on behalf of many for the forgiveness of sins." Any reference to "lamb" is also a reminder what Jesus was going to do and did. Christians STILL need to apologize to those they've wronged, by the way. There is no "free pass" to keep on sinning, either. No one is allowed to sin. We are all human and it is difficult but in our hearts, we must strive to be better every day. People have bad days and I know I certainly do so I try to sincerely ask for forgiveness right away, when I realize I've messed up. @bonnie43uk3 жыл бұрын
@@billyholly Cheers for that billy, well, it's good that we can agree that asking for forgiveness is a good thing. Maybe Christians buy into this "asking Jesus for forgiveness" is, it's a way of being truly apologetic for something you've done which has caused someone hurt, without having to apologise to someone face to face, I would say that is a far far harder thing to do on many levels, to look someone straight in the eye and to truly say you were wrong, and to ask for their forgiveness is much more difficult. Esp if they turn round and reject your sincere apology, and for good reason.. esp if what you did caused a lot of heartache and chaos in someones life. Much much more easy to sincerely ask Jesus for forgiveness in private prayer and mean it ... you know he's going to forgive you... that's the beauty of it. I'm still not convinced that drinking wine and taking it to be human blood is a good way to tell your friends that you are Gods son, and you're going to die for all of mankind's sins. Wouldn't you say it was a failed mission given how at no point after the crucifixion we all stopped sinning, we're sinning as much today as we've always done. And what people regard as "sinful" is very much a personal opinon. I love admiring good looking women, even better if they're in sexy underwear !! .. i don't see that as sinning, more a free pleasure in life 😊 But yes, we're none of us perfect, and we are all "work in progress" so to speak, i am in full agreement with you there. 😊

@@saintpaulofyoutube4416 Same applies to you saintpaul, it would be good to have a discussion with you about what it is you actually believe regarding God without resorting to mocking and scoffing. One of the things I've noticed about your interactions with a lot of atheists is, you will pick up on something fairly trivial, and focus on a triviality rather than give your point of view on a theological issue. What is your view on Hell for example, is it a place of eternal torture or simply an absence of God ( whatever that entails). You are quick to mock, but not quick on explaining your own theological views on various aspects of God or the Bible. As I said to Jesse, it would be good to get your views on what it is you actually believe and why? Are you a biblical literalist or do you think a lot of what is in the Bible is allegorical and not meant to be taken as literal? Feel free to give your views on that, or simply mock me. As a Christian, what you actually believe matters doesn't it. My non-belief has grave consequences for me, doesn't it? If I'm hellbound that should be of huge concern to me, shouldn't it? That's what I was raised to believe. Yet somehow, it doesn't ring true. You can't make someone believe in God if, in their heart of hearts they truly don't believe it. Yet, as i've told you lots and lots of times, If the evidence was strong, I *would* believe it.. I've even told you and many Christians what *would* convince me. God, if he existed, would know what it would take to convince me. This is a serious subject isn't it?, what happens to me when I die is something I think about a lot, and the more I think about it, the more I don't believe the stories that have been told in ancient books. If you asked me a question, lets say about the non existence of God as i see it, ... and I give you my answer, would you say to yourself, ah, ok, now I understand why you are an atheist" and that would be the end of the conversation? .. no, I dont think my answer would not be sufficient for you, and you'd have follow up questions, .. that is the nature of conversation. How do you not see that?. It's a shame that John tried to explain it for you, and you've chosen not to speak to him ( or indeed me) anymore. Note that I even said to you that we're not going to agree Jacob. But having these conversations is still worth the effort as it's something we're both passionate about. Ah well, you're always welcome to speak to me Jacob, I will never close the door on someone. saintpaul and Jesse are also welcome to have a civil discussion as I've stated above, but they've both gone silent.

@@DRayL_ when you "sought" after God... how did you do that? How did that happened to you? And what did you find when you sought? Do you remember any verses from the gospels? I was just a kid when I found God man. I was always a hyper and wild kid and when I was 15 I went to juvie, when I was in there I'd go to church just to try to talk to girls from across the cafeteria... but this guy came one day and he said things that made me want to find out for myself if God was real. Because my friends used to say they didnt believe. We were some skateboarding punk rock kids... they asked me one time saying "Kevin, you don't believe in God do you?" And I said no... but really I didnt know if I did or didn't... so when I was I'm juvie this guy came in and he wasnt like normal pastors who acted like they were perfect people.. this guy grew up in Detroit and he was an older mixed dude and he was a man on a mission. He used to drink and smoke weed and be in gangs... but now he was a 62 year old man who found God when he was in his 20s. He said "If ONLY I could change the way you guys think. Man wasnt made to be in a cage" And he would talk about the spiritual cages man was in and how Jesus set captives free. I went back to my unit... back to my cell... with the thought in my head that I wanted to know God.. wanted to know the truth... I started reading the bible as if it could true, as if it could actually be the truth and be literal history put on paper.. listen as a kid.. I never wanted to listen to teachers, parents or rules... the last thing I was looking for was something like religion. I just wanted to know the truth. And when I read it God opened my eyes up. It's weird and crazy and amazing and nothing's ever been the same. Since then I've denied God so many times... I've sinned and ran away from the eyes and plans of God.. I've slept with more women in my life than most men would have in 3 or 4 lifetimes. I've stolen and chased after money. I've used my fists and words to cause harm. I've been selfish and unloving. Yet Gods never abandoned me. If you seek him with an open heart.. to know him.. if you seek him with the thought in your head that you want to know the truth and ask him to reveal himself to you.. that you want to know Jesus... he will reveal himself... I do not believe you saw this video by chance. I dont think me typing this to you is by chance. Gods been calling your name Deavon, you have great purpose and a destiny. And you dont have to guess at what that is. Today if you have any part in you who will seek after Jesus with an open heart, do it.

Only if you took it literally. Firstly it requires a number of miracles including increasing the entire mass of the Earth, fitting millions of species, vegetarianism of carnivores, etc.. Secondly no one can can explain how hundreds of marsupials all happen to head back to Australia in a group. It is absurd in the face of common sense.

And yes,....just see it as a story that wasn't meant to be taken literal. That's the problem with the "all the Bible is 100% infallible and true" ideology. @@colinmatts thankyou for replying,I asked as so many on here are sarcastic etc... now to answer your q. Yes the brain is physical made up neurons etc. In fact there are 2 sides, the left which physically controls the right side of your body and the right controls the left. Besides the physical, there is the philosophical, psychological and logical. Animals in some cases do have or demonstrate empathy or sympathy and may act out of their normal behavior. Most though are robotic, instinctive, or reflexive/reactionary. Humans however except for rare anomalies are great critical thinkers, reason and or think rationally. We form complex speech, handle concepts etc... which takes thinking that is not genetic. We have free will, we approach our philosophies or can test our relations to others from actual independent observation. We can be an Individual or minority vs. Many animals hold to a pack mentality. Our minds(not brains), are not physical. It is our experiences, observations, etc that shapes our mind. I hope this helps.
@chimpanzeethat38023 жыл бұрын
The mind is entirely physical. It's not independent of the brain. It's a byproduct of consciousness which is mapped from the brainstem rostral dorsolateral pontine tegmentum to the central anterior insula and anterior cingulate cortex.
@colinmatts3 жыл бұрын
@@godislove363 Our ability to understand philosophy, psychology and logic better than animals is because our brains are more complex then theirs are. That's why we have a different way of showing sympathy and empathy. None of this is evidence for a God. Our minds are the by-product of our brains. Without a brain there is no mind. So experiences, observations etc. DO emanate from the brain.

The Gospel is Foolishness to Those Who Are Perishing this people will believe only in the things they see John 20: 29 Jesus said, “Because you have seen me, you have believed. Blessed are those who have not seen and yet believe. I can only give an advice to this young people of today, accept Jesus with all your heart and then read the Bible, and i guarantee you after that. that all does people that knows you they will see Jesus in you. God bless you all.
@DRayL_3 жыл бұрын
It's not about "belief". It is about demonstrable and repeatable data. Just "believing what other people tell you is true" is a great way to be deceived without knowing it. BTW, accept what "in your heart"? If you don't have a reason to see any "Jesus" as a literal existing deity, you cannot legitimately "accept it". As for the Bible, I'm well familiar with the Bible and claims of the Jesus character in it. That doesn't make it real. So,....where any claims of "foolishness" might be suggested is with those who others insist that their claims are actually factual without backing it up with demonstrable data....not just that people believed it, but that the claims were factually legitimate. I hope that helps.

Science believes there is no purpose for our existence yet believes everything has a purpose. If everything has a purpose then it has a reason to exist.That contradicts the essence of science. So if science has a reason then that that requires intelligence which means science is contingent upon an intelligent designer to give science its purpose. Thus God exists.

Jesus is Lord God Almighty clothed in unsinful humanity and He is the author of eternal life to all who trust Him alone for salvation. Saving repentance is realizing that you are a sinner deserving of God's just punishment in Hell and turn (repent) from whatever you trusted in before, if indeed you trusted in anything; to trusting in the person and finished work of Christ "alone" for salvation.

This young man simply is not understanding what “inconsistency” actually means. That’s not a big issue the issue the issue is is it contradictory. The different authors of the Bible who talk about the same story will tell different detail it’s a simple as that, that’s not a big deal. I can be outside of my house and tell a story about what I saw maybe certain people walking down the street who are wearing a certain outfits or certain cars driving by maybe the street cat is doing something outside. There was one time and SUV rolled over and landed in the middle of my driveway if that happened I would definitely mention that So what if someone who witnessed the same thing said the exact same thing that I am saying but they also mentioned how many planes overhead flew by because we are next to an airport it’s more detail but that story doesn’t contradict my story

What he is saying essential is the historical stuff is true therefore everything else in the Bible is true to, I’m not sure that’s a good way to do it. What if someone picked up a Spider-Man book and read it than found out New York was a real place, should they believe spider man is real also since somethings are true or should they go claim by claim?
@Malhaloc2 жыл бұрын
He never said that just because the Gospels are true, the whole Bible is true. He's saying because the Gospels are historically reliable, that makes Jesus a reliable person, and because Jesus, who is reliable, treated the OT as the word of God, he trusts Jesus that it is.
