@@christiandanario But that's just a narrative or false interpretation of what people think God said. I also disagree with the narrative that rapture will occur when Jesus comes and take away all those who believed in him and that He will create the new earth and heavens. My question is if those who died in Him are with him in paradise why are you as Jesus waiting for your second coming to resurrect those you claim are already with you in heaven? I mean you're with them in Heaven why are you raising them? Does it make any sense? There is no logic in these narratives, and another contradiction that is consequently highlighted is at funerals. You would hear a preacher say "may his/her soul rest in peace" and you wonder which part of him/her is resting in peace and which part has gone to heaven?. I think there is a disconnect between these myths and reality. Is God/ Jesus going to raise all these people including those who died in ancient times (Abraham, Moses, David, Jacob, Isaiah, John the list is endless)? These gospels of antiquity have by far been mispresented by people with fallible tendencies and those who claimed to have been inspired by God.

@@fishdawn1804 with your first point, i don't see how that debunks the fact Jesus literally said he was going to destroy heaven and earth. Following this a logical analysis of the current conditions and evidence, etc rightfully happens. Classrooms Today: "So class, regarding this event in history, how do you FEEL about that?" Following this personal anecdotal stories are told of the victims and their suffering, etc. This is why screeching has replaced dialectic.

Thank you! I’m praying for all here. I love your message that weakness is to be embraced and we shouldn’t forgive ourselves or expect to feel that He is helping us unless we pray so long that we cannot help ourselves. Only Jesus can forgive and we have no power. I hate myself but find that part of being faithful to Him. We eat chocolate proudly at our church so it is perfectly normal for our kids to not be let’s say athletic. I would not be ashamed of fatness as it is part of being a good Christian to tolerate guilt, and those that are not guilty might not be forgiven and thus might not reach heaven. I myself often have guilty feelings of not enough faith in God but I use this guilt to ask for forgiveness so I can be saved. I don’t think we should try to overcome our guilt but recognise it as part of being a Christian, even if it is difficult to live with. Even if we feel worse with this guilt, it I better to have it and know that we are true Christians. It brings us down, but it brings us together. Together, and down. Only then we can be saved. Being fat, well I’m bot fat to myself but if you choose to identify 558 pounds as fat, then that is your choice, but being like this does make me feel guilt but from my faith I think guilt is not an unholy feeling even if it means pain. It is like turning your cheek when struck as we are taught and deeply a part of our faith of tolerance our sadness and sickliness - including being large. Faith also why I love America 🇺🇸 and we are unique here, we have a responsibility to change the world, and lucky to be an exception in the world - thus we can spread faith to others to help them to tolerate guilt of sin, guilt of leaning away, and guilt of eating chocolate. This brings Christians together and Jesus accepts you too, so if you feel guilty for chocolate, or guilt ou about anything, think about your faith firstly rather than trying to solve the problem. Under god we accept, we give in to our weakness, we don’t try to change our weaknesses.

Problem is there is no tangible evidence that buddism is a path to God, or that its from God. Its based on 100% blind faith. That is what separates Christianity from all other religion on earth, its the only one NOT based on 100% blind faith. It actually offers real and tangible evidence its God's word through Christ, the gospel, the prophets, etc. Most of the Bible is NOT metaphorical, but Jesus did teach in parables. And if you read the gospels Jesus answered the question straightforward as to why He taught in parables. The simplicity of the gospel and eteranl salvation through Christ is not difficult to understand at all. None of us can hide behind the excuse of it being too hard to understand.

Hey Terrell, fellow UK citizen here. Suffering comes in many forms, what would you say to a mother who's just watched her child die from something like cancer, and suffer intolerable pain?, what has that child done to deserve to die in such a terrible way?
@tezmull4 жыл бұрын
@@bonnie43uk hi bonnie. Id try as much as possible to console the mother and her family in whatever way would be best for her at that time. I already know what your trying to get at here so I'll even ask that question for myself. If I was ever a father and I seen my child go through pain, would I be angry and upset? Yes of course I'm human. Would I be grieving? Yes there is no doubt. But would I honestly ever blame God for it? I hope that I wouldn't. For me it doesn't make sense to blame God because I was born into sin and I acknowledge that, and when we talk about death, illness, suffering and pain etc, because of sin these things are bound to happen so it wouldn't surprise me at all. No its not a punishment at all but in reality, like cliff said the wages of sin is death. And with regards to your other comment, in my opinion I don't think anyone one can just be born into a religion. For example, just because my parents are Christian, Muslim or Hindu etc and I say I am because they are, does that really mean I am? When people are born and we experience our life , have you ever question why we say things like ' when in this age, I want to be married, or own a house, or have children or learn to drive a car' for example. Dont you think it's interesting that no body ever says when I'm this years old or reached a certain point in my life, I would like to know God! Why? Because we're already cut off from him and suffering In my experience can actually be useful into questioning my purpose in life and then form relationships with my creator. We can't go looking for christ, but christ can sometimes enable certain things to happen, weather if we view it as good or bad, and use it for him to find us. I sincerely hope this helps.
@bonnie43uk4 жыл бұрын
@@tezmull Thanks for that Terrell, yes, the question of why innocents suffer is not an easy one to answer from a religious perspective.. you could of course argue that "none of us are sinless", .. but even there, are you seriously suggesting that babies commit wilful sins when they're only a few months old?, yet we know that babies are subject to diseases which are not only deadly, but also cause intense suffering. I think it's worth taking a step back and asking why a supposed 'all loving' God would allow that to happen, .. the "free will" argument doesn't come into it as i can see. .. a new born baby that has a terrible illness that's going to kill him/her hasn't brought that illness on itself. The truth is, as far as i can tell is that we are an evolved species that shares this planet with millions of other living organisms, some of which are very harmful to man, some of which benefit man, eg: plants with healing capabilities. The planet we live on wasn't specifically designed for mankind, most of it is completely inhospitable to man. We are not the be all and end all of life, it could even be said we're now at a point in history where we are causing more harm and damage to our planet than at any time in the past. Past generations would have known absolutely nothing about carbon emissions, or how deforestation is having a major impact on our lives. Anyhoo, I have a few chores to be getting on with now. @@tezmull Nice to meet you Terrell, I seem to get accused of being a troll on here by some people ( they're welcome to their views btw), I've watched these Ask Cliffe video's for about a decade or more now, I've found them quite interesting to watch as I was born and raised into the Christian faith, but it never sat easy with me, I struggled to believe in the supernatural elements of the Bible, and the more I thought about it, the more those doubts played on my mind. I have a particular interest in miracle claims, so I'd be very interested to know if you have any good evidence of that. Also being raised Christian I also struggled with this whole concept of eternal hell. Surely if we're hellbound then shouldn't we at the very least be aware of the terms and conditions of Hell?... it very much depends on which Christian you speak to, whether it be actual eternal damnation ( which sounds horrific beyond comprehension), or whether it's some kind of absence ( or separation) from God. As I don't believe there is anything after death, an absence of God is perfectly fine with me.. i will be in exactly the same state I was in before I was conceived.. and it didn't bother me one iota. But the other option of some kind of ever lasting torture is not something surely any human would want. Even someone as immoral and corrupt as Donald Trump would not deserve such a fate. Nobody would. Heh, can you see why I find these conversations so interesting?😊

The evidence that others and myself are reliable are: the love my family and friends have for me, I haven't been in jail or have a record, my place of employment, ceremonial respect I show others and others show me, empathy, and the search for truth like the conversations in these videos.

11:38 (after the kid is done talking) We weren't taught to lie, Instead, we were born with the desire to lie and lying is not good on any level. Stealing is also a desire we were born with but is also not good on any level. Hating on someone is also a desire we were born with and Jesus calls it murder which shows that hate is not good at all either. Same-sex marriage is a desire people are born with that dishonors God. Just because we are born with a desire, does not make it right.

Just tell the truth THE WAGES OF SIN IS DEATH, BUT THE GIFT OF GOD IS ETERNAL LIFE IN CHRIST JESUS OUR LORD
@morelions4014 Жыл бұрын
Because God is the only one who has the perfect definition of what is right and wrong. By our free will we can chase after all our desires, but very often they will have consequences. The question is do we acknowledge or care about what damage our actions will do to other's. It causes problems in their lives but most likely problems in our lives aswell when we chase after desires that God tells us to turn away from, our sins. God knows us to perfection and knows completely whats best for us. But its a choice we make to either exceot His help, or reject it and see how we try and cope by ourselves. But regardless how much one rejects God, He will be there for you any time you decide, enough is enough i cant do this anymore , too much, im at breaking point, i cant handle life any more. God is there ready with open arms to help anyone who seeks Him. God will never reject anyone who turns to Him and seeks His help.

Jesus is the only way, the only truth, and the only life. Without him there is nothing to hope for in this life or the one that is coming. He is the redeemer. That example of Hitler being nice to his father goes along with a theory I have about the people before the flood. It says that ' their thoughts were only evil continually ' . Even the worst people we can think of have ' nice ' times, while it seems the people before the flood got to where they were NEVER nice, never had any good thoughts. In order for them to be like that they must have not been 100% human.

I do agree absolutely with Stewart’s insightful position, that God wanted to give us that opportunity to share in the love that He has for His son Jesus, and thereby making it possible for us to do the same. What a refreshing new take. It’s fabulous. Q.Why do we have to worship God? A. It’s the right thing to do. It’s the smart move. It’s the wise thing to do. God doesn’t need our love. But we need to love Him to function properly. And because God knows of our reluctance to love Him, He has to force us to love Him, by commanding us to do so, with the first commandment. Any reluctance that we might have to love God is a result of feeling small or extraordinarily inferior to Him. It’s one thing to acknowledge someone’s greatness, but loving them because of it, is a humble act that we aren’t too crazy about. Therefore rather than let our feelings of pride or self worth take a severe beating, by having to face our incredible inferiority compared to God, our natural preference is to avoid the comparison. And by not loving God we avoid this confrontation with ourselves, that reminds us of our tremendous inferiority to Him. And therefore we need to be commanded to do what we don’t want to do, which is, love God. However although it’s counter intuitive to what we expect nevertheless our love for God brings about a new change. We begin to amalgamate with God and synergies with Him, so much so, that whilst our inferiority doesn’t disappear, nevertheless the effects of it does. We become extremely comfortable with God. Obviously God commands us to love Him in order to join forces with Him so we won’t feel excluded but also it’s to overcome the effects of our inferiority to Him. And yes our gratitude to God for all that He has done for us, does need to be expressed to God. But if we elect not to do this, then surely we shall suffer the consequences that’s ultimately the fate of all ingrates. The variety of expressions of worshiping of God are perhaps many. They can range from singing hymns of praise or worshiping postures with arms outstretched in adoration. However having that permanent state of mind of constantly admiring God’s amazing achievements and giving Him all the glory for it, is maybe the highest form of worship. As a side issue let me just chuck this in there. I believe that the death that is the result of the wages of sin is the death of complete extermination in hell.

What do you mean complete extermination in hell?

@@universe8649 There is much that we do not know, but because God has given us the intellectual capacity to reason, there are conclusions we can arrive at, which aren’t necessarily doctrine, because they are just our suppositions, which might be true. Therefore we cannot be absolutely sure, because essentially they are just our best guesses, based upon what the Bible tells us. But invariably these opinions become our dogmatic positions, which we stand upon pointing the way to others, instead of being content knowing that we don’t know for sure. However some seem to have been more enlightened than others, such as Ellen G White. And whilst she was not a prophet like those from the Old Testament, nevertheless she is indisputably a prophetess. She was a godly, God fearing person who never called herself a prophet, although she never denied it. Her mission was simple. It was to inspire those around her to lead holy lives. Her visions and prophecies,all of which helped the God fearing ones around her. The only time I have ever seen through the prophetic eye was when I was shown that the suicide bombers would stop going into Jerusalem. However I know a prophet when I see one and she is one. If she is a bucket of water, I am a single drop of rain. And whereas the positions I have arrived at are suppositions, she by contrast, I believe, was often under the direct influence of God via the holy angelic realm. To me there seems to be an ambiguity on the subject of hell, regarding souls being there in perpetuity. The words death and perishing and destroyed, along with Satan being ashes under our feet, alert us to the possibility of it not being a place of perpetual torment. Also our reasoning tells us that eternal torment is a punishment that doesn’t seem to fit the crime. However it is clear that God will ultimately get rid of every trace of sin and therefore that include the sinner. But perhaps God will not destroy those sinful souls until they have fully recognised that they were wrong to disobey God and that they made a mistake. One might conjecture that if God destroys a soul before it fully repents, albeit their repentance is too late to save them, their attitude of unrepentance, even though they’ve been destroyed, might still linger on in the spiritual realm as an entity or a contaminating atmosphere. And if this is the truth we can therefore understand the double purpose of punishing souls in hell. Firstly it’s to exercise justice but also it could be to eradicate every trace of sin, including bringing the soul to a point where it sees its sin and knows its guilty and therefore agree they are worthy of destruction, as God’s perfect ending to their lives.
@paulwilfridhunt3 жыл бұрын
@@universe8649 A follow on from my previous post further explaining the repentance in hell could be as follows. When the flood came and took them all away, they wanted to get on the ark and save their hides. But it wouldn’t have been accompanied by true repentance. It would have been a repentance of necessity. But in hell God will see to it that they eventually face themselves, although it will not be through necessity, to escape their torment or hasten their final obliteration. Instead God will see to it that they can freely admit to themselves they were wrong. I suspect that Satan and his demons have never let themselves be cornered, in such a way, whereby they have to face themselves, instead of continuing the charade of trying to exonerate themselves by continuously blaming God. And perhaps when the devil and his demons eventually relinquish their unjustified anger against God, and come to terms with the wrongness of their rebellion, God can potentially destroy them, provided they have received sufficient punishment. However we do know that their punishment will be great.
