I’m finally making 100k a year, but it’s taken 28 years in my career, and it costs me way more than it’s worth. I am 50, still single, and never home - I’m gone for two months at a time and home for a week or so before leaving again. Sometimes making the money just isn’t worth it. Love your videos. 100% Agreed. A question like that makes it exceedingly obvious that she is materialistic. I would end the date right then and there and never look back. I want a woman who is interested in me, NOT in my money. I’m sure other high income men or men in general here can agree with me on this. Because when I can have any type of woman I want, why would I choose one who is obsessed with material possessions and my income instead of a woman who is easy going, loving, fun, etc. A woman who is like the one with 18 questions is none of those things in my book. If anything though, women that are that materialistic can continue to ask away about my bank account, income, luxury goods I own, etc. It makes it easier for me to not waste time on women like that!

Im a male in my mid-30s and earning $120K a year in Healthcare. I am grateful however I do feel most of my younger years (20-30) was spent studying/training away without a social life, while my cohort was out partying and enjoying themselves. I don't regret my decisions but I can say money isn't everything and there are times when I wish I was in a field that was less demanding. I'd gladly would take a paycut for more piece of mind. I make 56k at age 32 . I’m a male . I have tons of credentials and it took me a while to just get to the 56k mark working in a hospital doing revenue and coding. A lot of these women are in Lala land when it comes to income. There’s a lot of educated and experienced men in the workforce but a lot of industries haven’t caught up with the inflation issue facing this country and the world.

I was watching a doc yesterday about wealthy section of America. If these Instagram women look at wealth online they think it exists everywhere. Money is heavily concentrated in Beverly Hills (only 32,000 population), NYC (Manhattan), Atlanta, Houston, and a few other urban areas in the U.S. The rest of America has very little millionaires.

In one of the videos she explained how she is picking up these girls/women. She basically told that she gets into dating apps with a man's profile but be upfront about what to expect. Because older or married women are mostly not on dating apps it would be difficult for her to get them onto videos like these. And so very true about the financial literacy part, I worked with a business club in college and we had to go to the high schools and teach financial literacy as an outside organization because schools were not getting this training. @@joaquin67 To be fair - there are a lot of women out there who are realistic about this type of stuff. Not everyone is totally brainwashed by some blenders on the internet. Besides - it is also possible that some of the women in the previous vids knew that their answers where ridiculous and still did it for the show effect. Lastly - it also depends on the life of each individual person. The girl working in financial services in this vid is in fact more likely to meet a man who makes shitloads of money just because of the men she meets in her day-to-day life; bankers (the people she deals with on a daily basis) are among the highest earning people which means for her personally it is a lot more realistic to meet a man who does make like 200 k than for let's say a teacher or a woman working in a retail job who will rarely come into contact with a man like that.

This was a very interesting video. I really like to hear the discussion of a topic from different perspectives. It was very interesting to me how all of these women felt they had to contribute financially to have value in men’s eyes. Some of them came close to discussing the value of being a mother but they saw that as being an additional responsibility as opposed to a primary responsibility. The idea that a household today can’t be accomplished with one income is ridiculous. Expectations and desires are not being properly aligned with the reality of your circumstances (living within your means). It is much more important for the continuation of society to raise your children with proper moral, values and ethics than it is to get a new car every year or live in a nicer house. It can’t be argued that for children to learn to deal with real life issues would be of much greater value. The value of money as a tool and how to manage it for accomplishing a goal. How to cook, plumbing, hobbies, reading, organization, etc. I understand that the topic of this video was already ingrained in the minds of the guest so assumptions were made by them about discussion content.

This is what dialogue should look like: having a conversation to understand and seek the truth; not debating endlessly who is right & who is wrong between men & women. It's great that you're encouraging self-reflection among women to reflect on their perceptions of men, vs the reality for most men which is unfortunately more grim than most women are aware. I used to teach a course on Youth Culture. We spent a few weeks talking about emerging adulthood and expectations of students. Mostly female students in the class. The students were middle to upper middle class background. The women were asked by me in class similar questions from this video. The women were delusional just like here and many podcasts like Fresh and Fit or Whatever. They all wanted men who were over six feet tall, had six figure bank accounts, no older than five years above them, had a house, nice car, were fit (as in six pack abs), and had a very high income ($200-500 k per year). They also felt they could wait until age 40 to start a family. Their delusions had no bounds, but it is common as we see in the video.

I really shouldn't be shocked that kids don't know basic biology and reproduction. Peak fertility ends around 28, starts to decline at 30 then falls of a cliff at 35. You ain't making kids after 40. We gotta remember that these people are probably not getting much more than a shoutout in the description and maybe a small amount of money for doing this. They're just your average person. This is a great way to see the mindset of the average modern woman today, but it's easy to be critical of people over the internet. The average person does very little introspective thinking, so their mindset is almost entirely a result of the environment they were raised into. A lot of the people on these videos get attacked personally. They just don't understand how unreasonable their thinking is, or at least most of them.

When I recently got promoted, I looked up a video on how to negotiate a higher salary. The lady conducting the video mentioned that one major reason women get paid less is because they are less likely to negotiate their initial salary offer. Yet, men always seem to get the blame for women getting paid less. Just a food for thought.

Went through this exact situation with my female coworker, I received a good review and I asked for a promotion and a raise and I got it. My female coworker asked me about when should she ask for a raise and I told her if she got a good review (which she did) then she should ask, but she was hesitant. And I told her “that’s why men get paid more because we are not afraid to ask” and we both laughed but that put a spark in her and she got the courage to ask and she got a raise.

This is a great video and surprisingly encouraging. The women were very reasonable, especially when they heard the stats. Even the woman who said she expected 150-200k at least she recognized she was in a bubble of sorts and that that wasn't going to be what everyone was looking for or needed. If these women are making more than average and looking at influencers instead of stats it makes sense that they'd be surprised about the actual numbers.

To me this is a conversation about how much your lifestyle costs in the area you live. After moving to Silicon Valley several years ago, I had to recalibrate how high a salary is required to just make a reasonable living there, especially if you're single. I personally had a relationship end because my over 6-figure salary wasn't near enough for the lifestyle she was looking for.

What a fantastic video. The is very authentic and brings hopes and dreams into reality. In the USA where Walmart is the largest employer and sets the tone for all other consumer retail these income numbers get dragged through the mud. The American way is to be in debt for everything. $1 down and $1 a month for the rest of your life mentality. These days a confident self driven person can far exceed these median numbers without the debt of a college education.

I entered the workforce as an engineer in 1979 at a 20k salary. I probably reached 100k by the year 2000. My wife, a website designer, typically made 45% of our household income throughout the years. Neither of us had any college debt. Different generations . . . different circumstances.

I think in 1980s engineering income was more realistic. Now they over paid and it prices out new grads. I graduated a degree in mechanical i tech in 2011. All the jobs at the time require experience.

My parents bought their first farm 3 acres house & buildings in 1983 hour south of Chicago for $25k. That property is worth $300-400k now. No Engineer making more than $150k in 2023. my point is 20k salary was equal to housing cost. $150k isn't buying crappy house in this area let alone a farm and 3 acres.

@@trueconservatie33 My background was physics and mechanical engineering. I worked at the Department of Energy Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory for 30 years. I would call myself an instrumentation engineer because my work focused on scientific instruments. I did my fair share of computing programming of automated instruments. I finished my career as a mid-level manager. If you work at the same place for 30 years, get good performance appraisals, and 2-5% salary increases then that can add up to a decent salary. Our salaries were kept be competitive with engineering salaries in the Northern California region. The San Francisco Bay area from 1980-2010 WAS a exciting time with the advent of personal computers.

Great video. I personally would really like to see more interviews like this, but with one additional question and that is whether or not someone is on hormonal birth control. According to research, taking birth control changes women’s opinion s about who they are dating and what they desire/prioritize in mate selection. I feel that this question may help people understand and see where these differences when it comes to hormonal birth control and it's effects. Cheers!

Dating is way harder than just expecting a partner with good income. Where do you find women who are willing to build a home in a supporting relationship? I'm a 33 male, $150k a year, no debt (other than my house), decently looking, a bit short (5'7"), no addictions, family oriented, no kids, financially savvy. I have focused so much on being the best version of myself for years, I have struggled to meet a romantic partner.

I think part of the issue is that people never really logic out the things they want in life and then place a dollar sign on a lifestyle. These women are giving you their most ideal life, not their most probable life. I like the way Courtney asks the questions. It's a very healthy exercise for people to talk this through and then attach a dollar sign. Reality is that these women are describing a lifestyle for people have worked for decades to obtain - not something you get out the gate at 25. Once you talk to them more, they appear willing to adjust their expectations. I'm not sure why men get so upset about women stating their most ideal life

I think the biggest struggle I have is the desire of already being “finished”. I don’t want to work until until I’m 65. I want to retire early. But that’s not going to happen if I spend all my money as a make it to live a certain lifestyle. It’s been a struggle to find a woman who agrees with that. My ex wanted a 20k wedding rather then investing 20k into a full market stock. It’s funny because I know she’s going to be working until 65 and I’ll retire by 50.

The crazy part about this is that wages are literally DECREASING. In an older video the median didn't go higher that 65k. Now it's 61k. And I feel the median salary for the various ages have decreased also.

Thank you for this video, Courtney. I have a smidgen of hope left for the "fairer" sex. Not nothing, in that I just saw a KZbinr break down the stats on how selective most women are with height. It is a shockingly shallow result, and one that I have begun to believe is one brought on by women not overcoming their evolutionary programming. Completely by choice of course, since a majority of men are open to being with a woman outside of what they consider an ideal weight or age range, something men have a very strong attraction towards as a result of evolution. Same with men constraining their more violent tendencies. So in other words, that pass should have expired by now. Would love to see a video from you about this topic as well.

Asking men to make money women themselves can't make and then expect men to share it with them means women have something of value (doesn't have to monetary) to give. Female companionship (read between the lines) and children are really the 2 things that can be come to mind. But with women wanting to work so much, delay having children, and then expecting all these things from men without providing what they can give back is crazy. Women wonder why they are single or end up getting divorces...

I think the idea that going to college guarantees a minimum income is a misnomer. Some students major in chemical engineering, others major in sociology. Some hit the books, take on internships, and network. Others "network" by funneling Bud heavies every Saturday night.

I saw empathy and compassion and that’s normally not apparent in these videos. Hearing a little bit from these same ladies in other videos I know something about their lifestyle. Can’t help but think there’s a difference between what they say in the video and then what’s done. But that is quite cynical by me.

Great discussion, this speaks to some of the delusion surrounding this topic for both male and female. One aspect of this is work/life balance. High income earners typically work a lot of hours which hinders much of their ability to build meaningful relationships outside of work. I work three days a week and I earn just under six figures but I enjoy having more time off. I can easily make over six figures but I wouldn’t be happier for it.

Hi Courtney, I'm a 49 year old male from the UK and I really enjoyed watching this video on how women think of dating, money, education. Still think peoples mind set is still old fashion, as in how much you earn. I deliver pizza for a living, I work 22 hours a week earning the National minimum wage, so I earn about £1000 per month. Some people laugh at me but when I say I am on 30k a year for delivering pizza. They say no your not then I explain that I have a pension and rentals that make me not so stupid. So I earn more money than some in my town. People do have a stigma on pizza delivering. thanks again for your work in this video.

Among this current round of guests only the mom had unrealistic expectations - and no, the girl who said 150-200 k does not fall into that category for two reasons: 1) she was the one who didn't want to put any number out and only did so because she was pressed to do so 2) She's working in the one type of business (financial services) where it is actually not unlikely to meet a man who makes that amount of money just because of the men she deals with on a day-to-day basis and therefore has a lot more contacts to rich men than women working in other jobs.

She said that she expects to find a man with such an income because that's the people she works with and meets in her day-to-day life - that's just the people in her job (financial services). And yes, because of that fact she is more likely to meet someone who makes that much money. Her comments are 100 % reasonable. As she said - couples often have proportionate incomes, and that is indeed often the case. A huge amount of people don't find their partner on a dating app or in a club - they meet their partners in their day-to-day life. And what people do you meet in your day-to-day life? Your co-workers. When asked she specifically said that's the people she meets in her industry and that is definetly true. That's actually the girl who didn't want to give a number at all at first and only did so because Courtney pushed her to do so - and then she only said that she thinks that men should make that much and that corporations need to compensate their employees fairly (which is absolutely true but sadly often not the case).
