I wrote a comment a month ago that I would cook this. I did cook this, a bunch of times. It is amazing how flavorful the broth is without simmering it for 8 hours. You can do a bunch of different things with this soup too, I added some tomato paste and Italian basil to the broth, and it was simply amazing. Thank you so much for teaching us this.

Hi Aaron and Claire!! I purchased your cookbook and it was the best choice I've ever made in my adventures in Korean cuisine. My husband served in the US Army in Seoul... and became very acquainted with the food culture there and he loved it. So I, being the adoring wife that I am, have made it my mission to recreate some of his favorites. I've used your cookbook along with your written recipes that you include with your videos. I am forever grateful for the love and care that you have put into your recipes. I approach them with a level of confidence that you totally inspire. And anything that I've made thus far, my husband 100% approves. I made kimchi one time before from a different "famous" Asian author and it was good... but I made your version the second time around (the Napa cabbage one) and it is spectacular! I adore how you just bring all the "stuff" down to earth... in an approachable, un-intimidating way. With a humble heart... I thank you both! Hugs, Penny

Just wanted to let you know how much I appreciate and have learned from your channel. I became interested in Korean food because my father was with the Canadian Army in 1950 and served in Korea for 18 months. He introduced me to Asian foods. I particularly like Korean food. Thank you Steve (67yrs) Manitoba

Greetings from the U.S. Just finished making and eating the Korean Noodle Soup and I have to say, it was AMAZING!!! Factoring in prep time, it definitely didn't take 20 minutes but once everything was prepped and ready to go, it was quick. Thanks so much for this great recipe. Now that the cold weather has arrived, I'll be making this soup again and again.

I’ve been eating a lot of soup lately and have been looking for soup recipes that are time and effort savers but still taste great. I’m getting tired of soaking beans for hours and creating my own stock from scraps and bones. I’ll definitely give this one a try, just without the chilis. Thanks for posting.

Oh, I want to try this! It looks delicious. (Claire, your happy dance is absolutely adorable!) I have a friend who just came back from a trip to Korea recently and he was so inspired by the food that now he wants to learn to prepare some of the dishes himself. So I, of course, recommended this channel and Aaron's cookbook (which I have and use frequently).

We made this soup two time this week - once with roasted leftover chicken and white button mushrooms and once with pork belly and bay bolete mushrooms, both were delicious (even if the second one hard to call "chicken soup"...), and with homemade chicken stock, and a lot of garlic :-). Well, your recipe is really versatile, Aaron, thank you! We also made your bacon fried rice and chow mein. And we love listen how Claire speaks Korean, it sounds so pleasant. Have a nice day!

OMGOSH! This is much lighter than I expected it to be, and worked really well with my gluten free noodles! :) it's another win! Also, I didn't wimp out on the seasoning (except I didn't have any chilis) and tried with a small amt - just enough to make the back of my throat & tip of my tongue be tickled. It's really delicious both ways and I appreciate that it doesn't take all day - I found out this summer I'm autistic which makes things sometimes take a bit longer for me than it would for most people :) It's nice to finally know why! Keep putting these quickies out Aaron - they are very much appreciated! :)

Interesting when my Oma taught me to make chicken soup she would remove the skin. The skins would not be wasted we would spread them out on a baking sheet, season the skins, add another baking sheet to keep the skins flat and pop it into the preheated the oven to 180°C for 10-15 minutes till they crisped up. Drain off any fat for use in the soup or other recipes if it was a fatty chicken, serve the crispy skin on the side with the soup. I think i will make Oma's chicken soup and add your extra elements and see what happens, swap korean noodles rather than regular pasta she used. Thanks for the recipe, Take care, God bless one and all.

I made this tonight and really enjoyed it! I made a mistake with the noodles. I thought you only had to rinse the fresh noodles. My dry noodles didn’t cook right and some stuck together. But I was able to fix it. I would make this again! I think I would take off the chicken skin though. Not my favorite. And the chili sauce made it yummy!

I love Korean metal bowls. I really want some but they are so expensive lol I cant get a couple of the korean ingredients where i live. I cant find the gochjong (?) pepper powder or those types of noodles. Can i use any kind of red pepper powder or does it have to be that kind? Also can i use a different noodle? Or does it have to be fresh noodles? Will it change the taste of the soup? I really want to try making this at home.

Once the noodles go in, they will soak up the broth, so just store the broth in the fridge and cook the noodles right before you have it. This recipe makes 2 servings and you can keep the broth in the fridge for 2-3 days. Please check out the written recipe in the description for more details! 😊🙌

I also eat glutenfree cause of allergies, i hate the rice noodles and such thats available here they taste like nothing. So what i tend to do to sort of get more chewy noodles is use glutenfree pasta. Just cook them like 1 or 2 more minutes then the package they become more similar to actual noodles then a rice noodle ever will.
