I bought your cook book, bought the staples, and I have never had problems with lunch or dinner since. Oh my lord things are just so much easier - plus I'm gaining an idea of how the Korean flavors work so I can play around with them myself. Naan would be happy, I was too young to learn from her before she passed and my dad never picked up any cooking skills. Thank you Aaron and Claire

Yes! Teach us how not to take forever cutting veggies Aaron! Secondarily i finally found some amazing kimchi and im officially addicted. I havent had a sinfle bowl of noodles or rice in thr last week i havent added it to! Also, kimchj as a side for steak is awesome.i cooked a ribeye and as a fattier steak i wanted to try it with kimchi for some acidity to cut through that. Wowww, did kimchi impress in this utilization. Onto another ubiquitous korean ingredient, i wonder how gochujang would work in a steak compound butter...

I checked the first recipe... It's on the stove right now OMG 10/10 HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!! We're having a snow storm right now so I had to make do with what I had. I didn't have ground beef (I just skipped it), nor green onions (pls don't hate lol) so I used a whole medium yellow onion instead. And I made only the broth part, which I will divide and use in 2 or 3 soups. It's warming up right now from the 6 cups of water, and I added mushrooms (I dry my own mushrooms in the summer), and I tasted it... YUMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM I might even do one soup with some kimchi topping. I might add a bit of coconut milk to one soup. This is a WINNER ok off to watch the rest while it warms up lolll oh and... hello from Canada!

We made the gochujang kalguksu last night and I now have a new food obsession - I can’t stop thinking about it! Prefect for a cold winter night, the broth is slightly thickened by the noodles and it’s the perfect comfort food. We love your recipes and your cook book, keep them coming! 💗

Just made a simple version of this without any meat as wanted to taste the soup without distraction, absolutely amazing flavour - zingy lips n all 🤗 Added to my regular cooking schedule as a staple, there is an Asian supermarket in my town which I did not even know about until today so popping round to see if they stock the Red Chile and bean paste as whilst my English supermarket has Red Chile Paste it's a very small jar at an exorbitant price as it's considered gourmet, lol.

Are you in a small town? Most of those things are available easily. If you can find an Asian grocery store, check it out. They are so much fun. And if you are looking for a rice cooker, that's the place to find one. Then there's Amazon
@AaronandClaire2 жыл бұрын
Hi, Melissa! Sorry for the late reply. Sadly, the liquid version (초고추장) doesn‘t taste the same as gochujang paste because it’s more sweet and sour. Normally, that’s for some salads or is used as the dipping for some raw seafood. So I suggest trying online. We shared the amazon links in our description box, so I hope they help! 🤗
