I used to have a Neet Nest. I wasn't a neet. I worked. Had hobbies. Left the house a lot. But I was also suffering from pretty severe depression. I left for 2 months to get mental health assistance and to also get help for my alcoholism. I came back home and my roomates girlfriend had cleaned my room for me. I was angry. Not because she did that for me, but because I was so embarrassed she cleaned it up. I don't know how to describe it. At this point, I was on antidpressants for nearly 2 months, and my head was so clear, and I was so ashamed. I will never let that happen again. Chelsea, I love you. I'm super grateful for what you did for me. It was embarrassing and shameful, but after that, I told myself I would never let that happen again. Thank you for being an amazing friend. I wouldn't wish cleaning my neet nest upon my worst enemy. That was truly a display of love that I have never had before. Since that day, I have been medicated, I eat well, I keep my apartment clean, I work out 5 days a week, and I have a cat who is my little homie. Don't let your lives turn into that guys. It's a life of shame, depression, and dispair. Take care of yourselves. ❤️

Typically these "nests" grow as mental health declines. It's quite common with people who are chronically online because they don't take care of their house or their mind but even people who have heavy work schedules will do the same. A millionaire can probably afford a weekly cleaner (and he should if he's likely to keep slipping back into these habits) but I can't help but feel bad for these sorts of people. With a house as embarrassingly messy as that, you already know they don't have many (or any) real life friends and aren't in relationships. In japan they're having a bit of an issue with hikikomori, in western world we simply haven't named it yet.

A heartwarming story: about a year ago, Zack was doing his usual thing and randomly pulled up Kasii's stream in which Kasii noticed and started shouting him out, "Asumon-senpai!" Asumon-senpa-- Asmongold, King Nurgle himself, "The One who shall nought be named", the IRL owner of the RE7 Biohazard house, even he isn't immune to cute anime girls and started blushing bright red, and couldn't stop blushing and stammering and trying to hide it for like 7 straight minutes! It was such a halirious and cute scene! Overnight Kasii's Twitch channel "Kqsii" viewerbase went up by 40k so it was a really wholesome and funny story.

During my college we had a friend like this, we would never get to enter his room because he was always busy doing some programming shit or watching anime/playing games, but we knew his room was dirty. I ised to pester him about it a lot but he would nwver listen. When the year ended, his parents came to pick him up, now idk what happened that morning as I had an exam but when I came back there was a box full of soda bottles and chips packets outside his room, (our running theory was that his father came and cleaned it up). Just for shits and giggles we entered his room for the first time and goddamn there was still so much trash, the only place clean on the floor was where the door moved and it's movement sweeped up the floor in that area, everywhere else was just cover in dust, food crumbs, plastic bottles and redbull cans. One of the most wildest things I have ever seen in my life.

Yea fr, doesn't make sense, bro is just weird, muta is BEYOND smart enough to check files for anything sus, let alone do 5 seconds of research to see that the game was backed by the entire community, the graphical glitches and weird lighting is 100% due to VM, you need your real Nvidia control panel settings for these type of games not some stock driver or default VM settings, he has a 4090 too i believe and u see how horrible it ran, he should be better than this

Man, seeing these neckbeard nests make me feel better about my setup. Not a single dish or left over food in sight, but it is a water bottle grave yard. My desk area and floor around it is clean but the shelf above my desk is where water bottles get laid to rest (at least until I stop being lazy and throw them away lol)

My dog, Potato, LOVES plastic water bottles. So my house and rooms are 90% clean but the floor is littered with water bottles, their caps, and their plastic rings. Walking around at 3am to get a nighttime gremlin snack involves navigating around unknown plastic bottle landmines. If you feel bad about your water bottle graveyard just think if a little pomeranian having the best time of his life running through it xD

Damn, first 2 minutes in and this video hit home. Grew up in a family that had 2 parents who had severe mental breakdowns. My homes looked like this until I moved out at 16. I remember cleaning my mom’s desk one time and there was so much cigarette ash that it turned to mud when I used a damp paper towel.
