Not just a knight. That's a Varangian Guard. They were literally vikings outfitted with the best weapons & armor money could buy, and they fought for the Emperor of the Eastern Roman Empire in Constantinople. Some of the most dangerous warriors in history. Of course, why this one is in France is anyone's guess. But hey, makes for a cool trailer. The main character here is essentially fighting another Norseman, who chose to become a mercenary rather than raid settlements.
