Thats excatly what it is, if You romance him he will open up to you little by little, and even if I don't romance him, I like how progresses he even in friedship. He is really good written character with talanted voice actor.

There is also a huge difference in how he says "I love you" here and at the end of romance in 3rd act, and I kinda love that - it just shows, how much trust and vulnerability was built from start to finish, how Astarion finally gave a sincere confession of his feelings.

For me he is a little like Zevran from Dragon Age, who never experienced true feelings in his life. For him love was just sex and sex was a tool. He was forced to do things he didn't want to and he hides everything behind sassy mask. Astarion wasn't saint in his mortal life . After nearly death experience he was a slave by 200 years. All he knows is cruelity, lies and intrigues. He was a toy for his master, and for his master he was doing a lot of nasty things. To survive he had to become more manipulative, cruel and better liar than he was before. He also wants to be free and be master on his own. I'm not sure if he ever truly loved anyone or was loved by anyone. I think now he will do and say anything it will benefit him. I'm not sure if he will ever truly love Tav or if he will wants serious and healthy relationship.

If you say that you dont't want this in the last bit, there is a really telling and heartbreaking pause he makes. It really broke my heart but I had so see how he would react. Now I learned my lesson and I think, when I start another playthrough and decide to romance someone else, I'll go back to him. (Unless he makes a Solas move, then we're done for good xD ... gods i hope not)

That "I love you " line caught me off. I liked it but I know he says it more as a joke but it, still surprised me. I can't wait to awe him to really show real lust, real affection and not just love and a crush towards Tav. I'm sure we will see some changes, I'm sure he will act different. He looks soooo uncertain. It made me think - does he really feel something he's never felt before or.. he just tried to draw attention? Although, even if he is in love a bit, I think that motion, when he wants to have more of MC, tells me "I am nervous, but don't want her (MC) to notice". Again, the same stuff was with Zevran, when he was in love and behaved casually, like nothing happened, just to hide his fear. P.S. Wanted to say - you have a very stunning heroine xD I rarely play as girls, but I have to admit - she is amazing ;)

This dialogue just doesn't get triggered for me ( I always get the one that starts with the wine. Did you do anything differently? I take it you saved the tiefllings, like me, so I'm not sure how that works. What was you approval level with him? Thanks for sharing!

He can propose you sex pre-tiefling party,( you must rest atelast 2 times for the "date" to trigger). You get this dialogue at the party once you had sex with him before. (Sorry for my English 🥲)

This dialogue happens at the Tiefling party if you have already slept with him once. But if tiefling party was your first time with him, you should get this proposition from him later in the game.

It's really tricky to track down when each scene triggers 🤔 seems to be all over the place and not when you expect them too. This scene triggers for me at the celebration night with the tieflings.

It used to happen when you defeated the goblins and saved the tieflings ,or if you sided with the goblin and slaughtered the tieflimgs. There was a celebration night with a party at your camp with whoever you sided with ,then this scene used trigger. Now it seems to trigger if you have enough approval with him

I would have thought that was high enough since at this point he's just using tav. Does approval need to be higher? Is it a bug? Is there not a second scene? I missed the scar scene.
