In the phone conversation between Wilhelm and Erik, they use the word Crush as translation for ragg. The word ragg in Swedish means more a casual crush, like a one night stand almost. So when Wilhelm says: it’s not a crush - it means that it’s something more than just a casual hookup. I really like your reactions!

Yes. Another video has a swedish high school teacher explaining that ragg is like a one time sex encounter. That teacher goes on to explain that ‘crush’ does not have an equivalent in Swedish. So when Erik tells Wilhelm to enjoy his ragg, Wilhelm tells him it’s NOT a one time sex encounter. I take it that for Wilhelm it IS a crush in the English (romantic) sense of the term. That was lost in translation, I guess.

Well, Wilhelm‘s sexuality hasn’t got a label yet. But I‘m pretty sure his brother Erik knew that he might be also interested in boys. …but now Wilhelm is next in line, he will ascend the throne after his mother. I already said in a former comment that it‘s not only a complicated queer love story. I think it‘s probably about breaking with old traditions and renewing the monarchy.

And his sexuality is not getting a label anytime soon, because 2 months after filming for Season 2 ended, Edvin (Wilhelm) still said in an interview that "Wilhelm doesn't have a label for his sexuality. ... There is no label. It's just love." I think it's heavily implied that he's pan.

@@GirlLovesFairytale I totally agree, so much happens in 6 episodes that it almost felt like more then 6 and I have no doubts about season 2 not executing the same thing perfectly again. I would take 6 perfect jam packed episodes over 8 episodes that add fluff and draw things out that don’t need to be. The writers have proved how perfectly they can tell this story in this many episodes and I love it. The 6 episodes also means that every single scene they choose and transition they add is so intentional and thought out and every little bit of screen time is there to drive the plot forward. I think it’s extremely effective.

Wille having "self hatred" thoughts, kind of I think too. However, his problem is not what he is feeling for this boy, I feel this part is pretty obvious. His problem is more what "he is not allowed" to be. He is a privileged person right, but also he is a very restricted one, who is not allowed to have an opinion or a relation, if not approved before by the royal family. And he definitively knows that a poor and male person won't be approved as a partner. But he can't resist...only human. As crown prince, the forbidding of this relation increases for him. He has to produce an heir, with a rich female...his duty. No fouling around anymore, even if it was not much.

I think the reason why Wilhelm looked so intens at Simon is because he is scared to death for his reaction and also he is risking alot to make this step. I agree that Simon silent treatment is understandable but also Wilhelm is not a normal teenager and I think Simon forgets this sometimes.

As a Marvel fan you have to wait for a fade to black at least twice!! Both of you were positively glowing!! I think you're totally wrong about the scene where Wille get up to go to the loo. He sees that couple kissing, and immediately thinks of Simon, of doing the same with Simon. Washing his hands was just to get him in front of a mirror. He looks at himself and decides to accept himself. Next day he asks Simon to stay, and makes it fairly bloody obvious that they won't be playing Scrabble! He doesn't even try to hide the beaming in church, and doesn't seem to mind Simon beaming right back at him. Then he tells Erik that he's met "someone". He blanks August and goes to sit with Simon. I think as the "Backup" he was perfectly fine with his feelings for Simon, and would have come out, certainly to Erik. It's Wille who makes the first move in every intimate scene after that first kiss. It was the weight of expectation that threw him after Erik's death.

The thing is as much as August is awful you can see how he’s unwilling to sell anything because he idolises his suicided father from whom he inherited the estate. Everything about him is because he wants to be like his father. And his mother looks like she just swanned off with husband number 2 and dumped at a boarding school.

@@GirlLovesFairytaleI just finished watching SKAM France and I didn't rate it at all. It was too over the top and sexualised for me, and all the actors looked about 30. I know a lot of people love it though, so it all depends what you're into I guess. For me it's all about Matteo and David ❤️ I think it's the softest of all the remakes, they're so sweet and tender with each other it just melts my heart. You don't need to see any nudity or any of the more raunchy stuff because you can see the love literally bursting out of them with every little touch and glance. And I think Matteo has the best character arc of any of the 'Isaks'. Plus he's just downright adorable and even when he's acting like a jerk in the earlier episodes he has such a vulnerability to him that you want to just scoop him up into a big hug and tell him everything's going to be ok (well, I do). I also think it's a great one to react to after the OG because it's the only one that changes the story line and feels fresh and different. But I think all the SKAM remakes are worth a watch and would love to see reactions to any of them x

I get what you mean with over the top but I don’t agree haha! It is more sexual but I think that fits very well with the feelings I had when I look back at 16 years old myself. So I think you’re right about what you are in too or what you feel is something you can relate more too. I also saw a lot of interviews from the actors and they talk with so much love about what they did that made me like them even more. I also think it’s a way better explanation about manic depression, I think OG made an amazing start with that topic about what does that mean for a relationship and for the people around you (my dad and brother have the same disorder so I think that’s why I love that they keep it at that story). I love the france version even more about the manic depression because they explain so much more what is means to have a relationship with someone who has this disorder. You get that from Lucille (the ex of Eliott) but also from Eliott himself and his insecurities around that. Also you can see that Norway is less emotions and France is more extra, I think it fits well with the culture in the countries. Isak was way more dealing in his own head and he played that amazing but I loved the crying scenes from Lucas because it felt so real and raw. I love Druck on a different level I think, because it really is a different story and I love it for that :D I loved Matteo in it and his character development. I didn’t like the acting from the actor from David a lot, don’t know why but it didn’t move me as much. I agree that all the remakes have something :) I’m from the Netherlands and they cancelled Skam after 2 seasons here so I’m very sad about that. I also watched wtFock and liked that as well but because I can understand it perfectly because it’s Flemish. It’s a form of Dutch but for me with a really weird accent xD (I think people from Belgium think the same the other way around haha) I think thats why I could't get in it as much but I do understand why people like it :) Curious what you thought about wtFOCK and other remakes :)

@@GirlLovesFairytale I totally agree that SKAM France goes further in its portrayal of being with someone who has bipolar disorder. That's one thing that I really like about it actually. I just miss all of the tender moments that we got some of in SKAM OG and even more in Druck - the little kisses, hair stroking, eye gazing etc. But you're right, it's all down to what you relate to more. I think I relate more to that softer side of being in love, it's truer to my personal experience. I can see why people prefer SKAM France if they prefer a more passionate, sexy portrayal of love. I agree as well that every remake seems to be very in keeping with the culture of each country. Like you said, France being more intense/passionate/romantic/sexual seems fitting, and Germany being more edgy/angsty/darker but somehow softer and more playful at the same time. I think perhaps that's why I relate to it more as well, I've noticed that there seems to be quite a lot of cultural crossover between the UK and Germany. In particular I've noticed that German people I've met tend to share a similar humour to us in the UK. I'm watching WTFock at the moment and I really like it. I think there's great chemistry between Robbe and Sander. I really like the scene at the end when Sander falls to the floor and Robbe is holding him and says "I'm so glad I found you". It hits me right in the feels ❤️ I do think there are more holes in the story than with other versions though and there are some parts that just seem to be thrown in for shock value that don't actually go anywhere and seem unecessary for the story. For example, the gay bashing scene and the scene where Robbe calls Sander the F word. I get why, but I think there were better ways to have portrayed the way he was feeling and that just seemed a bit extreme, like it came out of nowhere and then they just moved on like it had never happened. If somebody used that word to me it would take a lot more than an apology for me to move on from it I think. I haven't watched any of the others in full yet so can't comment properly. I've only seen clips/compilations. I was gutted SKAM NL was cancelled too as I heard great things about the first 2 seasons and was excited for season 3. I'd LOVE for someone to do a UK version! I guess it would be like a cross between Heartstopper and Skins, which would be pretty awesome 🙂

Wilhelm feels very restricted by labels and they are keeping him unlabled on purpose. The show's creator and head writer has left it open that he could be bi or pan. Quote Edvin (Wilhelm): "Wilhelm has no label for his sexuality." He is definitely not streight and he never sais he is, but that's as definite as it gets with Wilhelm's sexuality. It's just love for him but he's worried about it being judged from the outside because of who he is and the scrutiny he's under. And now it got way worse, because now he has to "produce" a biological heir to the throne and he has no younger siblings to take over.

Very exited to see you react to the next episode 😀 Ihave to say, to me it is interesting that almost every reaction channel that I have watched react to young royals, has had the same reaction to wilhelm as you guys, saying that he is being very selfish and not fair to Simon, but I symphatize so much more with wilhelm than I do with Simon, the pressure that wilhelm is under from the crown must be astronomical and remember he is only about 16 years old here, not an adult. I am more annoyd at Simon in these and future episodes for not being more symphatetic to William and overall I think that Wilhelm is a far more nice person than Simon. But as I said, I seem to be alone with my opinion 😂

Yes Wilhelm is 16 and wasn't even allowed to participate in the decision about where to go to school. He was born into a job, he is never just himself in public, he always has to represent his country and an official statement has to be made about every "mistake" he possibly makes. His mother is his boss and his father doesn't have much to say because his job is to support the Queen. Now at 16 Wilhelm has been "promoted" into a leading position that has always been his brother's. And he's under the constant scrutiny of national and international media. He can't make any decisions that are just his own. It's always duty over personal feelings. He can't openly have a political opinion, always has to fake smiles, fake interest and is surrounded by fake "friends" who only use him for his status. And his only close relative just died...

It's not August's mom paying for his schooling, it's the Swedish tax payers. It's illegal in Sweden to have fees or tuitions for schools. It's the housing at the school they're paying for, not the education. Even if he is an adult, since he is over 18, parents in Sweden has the responsibility to financially support their children until they graduate "gymnasiet"=high school. But that means just the basics, making sure that he has food to eat and a roof over his head, it doesn't mean she has to pay for him living at that boarding school with some money she doesn't have. He could just as well live at his house (or estate) and go to some other high school closer to home for free, but his pride is stopping him from wanting to doing that. Loving your reactions to Young Royals! Would love to see your reaction to more queer international shows after this. South East Asia has been killing it lately, especially Korea and Japan. You MUST WATCH AND REACT to Skam France Season 3!!!!! Honestly, Elliot and Lucas are THE BEST. And that show has by far the most romantic, sexiest, and HOTTEST sex scene during a wet paint fight. Good lord! 🖌 Also, you don't need to watch the other seasons to understand this one. That show was what made me addicted to watching and reading LGBTQ+ shows and books.

Druck (SKAM Germany) all the way for me. Didn't rate SKAM France personally but a lot of people do. I think I like the cuteness and tenderness of Matteo and David over the sex scenes in SKAM France. And I love that they changed up the story line. All the remakes are great though, at least the ones I've seen anyway

I know In these shows we feel the need to want to label a person and it happens in real life but why? Wilham is young and from royalty and he knows being with a poor male will not be accepted. We shouldn’t be so harsh to judge him as he more than likely doesn’t understand what he is yet.
