i plugged in my headset per astro instructions but like someone else, im not getting any chat audio with streamlabs. not sure what settings i need to have. my capture card has all the game audio, just not chat for me or my team

When you open stream labs go to the right hand side (the mixer settings) and click on the little gear icon. Once you open those settings find your elgato channel in there and set to monitor and output. That will allow Streamlabs to record all sound.

Thank you. It still doesn’t work. I’m going to assume it’s the capture card because it hasn’t mattered what setting I change, no party chat or game chat comes through. Only in game music, sound effects, etc.

@@1800whocares Your sound should be coming out to HMDI/TV from the console, that sends the signal to the capture card and with this splitter it lets you split the sound so you can record everything.

@@PABGames Correct. But for some reason chat audio doesn't come through still. I can hear all game sound but there's an issue with it going from capture card to my PC. When I tried what you said above, it get this high pitch static noise.

@Jay _TooGoated If you go this route with an optical port you'll be fine. An optical connection provides equal if not better audio quality then the top hdmi outputs as of right now

I’ve been using the A40’s since late 2015 and I can easily say they are the best headset I’ve ever come across. My only issue with them is that the stock mic is awful. I got a Razer Seiren X to use as my mic while still using the A40’s as my headset. This combo works great but it does mess with the mix amp and no longer lets me adjust game/chat audio, it mixes them together as one.

Only thing needed would be the settings used on the PS5 and a visual for those that are visual learners even though its pretty self explanatory to most, but still a great video none the less.

Pab , love your work & for most with a 60hz tv this is a good solution but not the best. I tried the Adapter but it won’t show a signal at 120hz . Game audio sounded fine but in game chat 💬 everyone sounded far away & in a box . It doesn’t help that Astro only sends a 2.0 cable & not a 2.1 . Hopefully this is corrected on all of Astro’s future base Stations . Been with Astros for 5 years but this is adaptor is just an bandaid 🩹 to Next Gen headphones 🎧

If anyone has HDMI 2.1 for next gen consoles for 120hz gaming this adapter only outputs a 60hz signal so you will lose out on those extra features of next gen.

This is mainly for people who are interested in streaming and or recording video gameplay when they play multiplayer with friends and want to be able to record chat audio and game audio, and have it split it both to the headset and OBS/Streamlabs. I don't think any streaming service at the moment allows for 120hz streaming

No, you only use the adapter to split the sound. You only split the sound if you want to send it to the stream and to your headset simultaneously. If you aren’t going to be streaming, the headset itself is fine to use

This is to split audio so you can get audio to the headset and also to the capture card. If you’re not splitting audio, then you don’t need the splitter

I had issues with the hdmi/optical splitter. My mic audio cut out, I could hear them but me talking would break in and out constantly. Very disappointing because my a40s are great otherwise. After taking out the adapter too, my tv detected the ps5 faster. Can turn on/off by switching to/from the hdmi source on tv itself. Hopefully they update for just usb audio, or release a compatible headset without the adapter.

I agree. Astro really should have created a new headset designed for the next gen consoles. I love A50's but if the connectivity issue doesnt get truly resolved then Ima look at Steel Series.

If you’re using the HDMI adapter, you connect the optical out from the adapter and to your Astro A50 base station to get the audio in your headset. The HDMI out from the adapter should go to your capture card to capture audio when you record

However a lot of reviewers have stated that because of the splitter (adapter) you can’t take advantage of the HDMI 2.1 Meaning no 120 FPS on COD. That’s why I stopped using them. But if that is incorrect please let me know..

Kevin , Slingshot is right . I purchased the adapter for my tv & wouldn’t even show a picture at 120hz . Audio sounded like my friends were trapped in a metal box 📦. I’ve own Astros for over 7 years but this adaptor is just a bandaid 🩹. I even tried a 2.1 cable & it still didn’t work. I moved on to SteelSeries until Astro makes a base station that works with Next Gen consoles .
