(PS5) How to set up Astro HDMI Adapter to Astro Mixamp and connect to ELGATO HD60s and 60s+

Another reason you have to change the output to hdmi device is so you get the optical sound from the splitter. That’s the whole point of the splitter from Astro. Changing the output to av amplifier instance of tv maximizes the optical output also.

Try this... 3.5 from Mixamp to Elgato ( Settings select analogue audio on Elgato software ) for the people that have a buzzing get yourself a ground loop of amazon... 3.5 from aux to p.c for sound/music/discord ... That is how i have the Pro setup no problem, So how ive seen the PS5 done with the splitter this should allow you to keep ASTRO SELECTED on IN AND OUTPUT allowing the audio from the mixamp to the elgato ( stream port ) to relay to the stream if it works YOUR WELCOME

What's up Edwin! Try pressing the playstatio button, go to mic then see what your mic is set up too. Does it give you an option for your controller or something else?

What’s up Arjale! So you only need to use the hdmi adapter if your planning to stream. If your only going to record and game off the ps5 you just need to plug in your usb to the ps5. I tested with my mixamp👍👍👊👊

I have the adapter set up this way but I had to change my audio format to Linear PCM as having it on Dolby just caused a weird feedback noise on my OBS which means not getting the full effects of surround sound in my headphones which is annoying for FPS games, is their a work around?

Astro has conned people. You don’t need that box. Party mix chat is done within the PS5 menu. Doesn’t seem any 3rd party headset will support the game and chat mixing from the headset unless it’s the pulse.

Astro Hdmi splitter. Hdmi ports are already being used. The hdmi is going to the monitor and after that you said it going to the elgato, which you showed down below. That's where we are confused at... Like how you got that hooked up when the astro converter only has 2 hdmi ports

Only issue I am having my asus monitor is a 4K 165 hertz monitor ok. On my ps5 for Cold War their 120hertz option but I can’t access it. Now I know you gotta go n hit permanentance mode in order to activate this which is what I’ve done already, and yet I’m locked out from accessing the 120 refresh rate. Any thoughts?

Hello there, the micro usb goes directly through the ps5 adapter and the power comes from the ps5/ps4 usb ports. I would recommend you use one of the usb ports of the ps4 as a source. I use my pc to give power to the ps5 adapter, so that I have my ps4 usb slots clear. Everything should work fine as this videos shows it.

so i use this setup with my elgato but the thing i cant figure out... in the past i had the audio format on Dolby on my ps4 but when I use that on ps5 there is a really bad buzzing feedback and no audio coming through.. it seems to work fine when i switch format to Linear PCM? is that correct? What's up dude! Linear PCM is the correct settings. Your mixamp will covert into dolby digital for you. Let me know if you have any other questions 8)

The only issue I see here is if you have a 144fps monitor your not getting the 120Hz from the PS5 for some of the games.. Max would be 60Hz! Am I right about this?

I have to keep unplugging and replugging in the power cord to elgato in order for it to get a signal, otherwise it gives me no signal...Is there anyway to fix this?
