Daydreaming in form of conversations / discussions in my head while playing an easy video game is quite nessecary for me to relax at all. Or they pop up in my head when I hear music like videos according to those. Often they play out in a fantasy world, where I adde achetypes to characters or add "scientific laws" to a magic system to organzise it better. This stuff can become so "loud" that I need to write it down to be to not get distracted by my own thoughts every three seconds. Great video, was able to relate to it very well and congrats.

I know what you mean by living in daydreams. Sometimes, daydreams feel more important and more interesting to me than reality. I also play iut scenarios and tell myself stories in my mind. I've had people ask me why I'm staring off into space and I've said that I'm enjoying a song or story in my mind. I love mysteries, high fantasy and space opera stories as well as role playing games. I prefer videogames to tabletop because most tabletop games require interacting with people in person which is difficult. I love 'Choose Your Own Adventure' styles of ROGs though because you can play them alone, yet your imagination is fired up almost as much as it is by group RPGs. My extraverted sensing outlets are gardening, video games (especially pinball) and archery. I love gardening because it engages all the senses in a calming way.

Great work on the video! I can relate to almost all of these as a fellow INTJ, especially abstract video games, clever writing and concepts. I find playing guitar and music is the ultimate ‘video game’ as it never ends and it also allows you to make it part of a lifestyle of self development. It also allows you to tap into the inferior Se when performing and I’ve learned a great deal from purposely engaging with Se in a positive way to develop oneself.

At the end of the first Blade Runner movie, INTJ villain Roy Batty mentions visions of "C-beams glittering in the dark near Tannhauser Gate", and "Attack ships off the shoulders of Orion." He had fantasies and probably also contemplated the meaning of life and death; and as all things that were ever alive also died, he understood that he too would finish the process of life. Roy understood that to live meant that he had to die, and like all the other humans, his inner-world would vanish like tears in rain. You need a human intuition for that sort of thing, it is abstract and beyond our senses and reason to come to that sort of conclusion.

Omg scp universe, yes! What I love about scp as an intj is that it all makes sense at the end of the day. The interactions and research done are pretty scientific, the way task forces act are pretty realistic etc and most scps have real scientific data backing up the mystery if there is a need for that. One of my personal favs is the scp 001 proposal A - sheaf of papers. According to that, there is a stack of pappers that keep writing itself and it only writes about scps and it even writes about scps that do not exist yet in scp universe. So, is it writing scps and thus creating them from the idea of existing, or is it writing about scps that already exist but the foundation hasn't discovered yet, so it writes to warn the foundation. If it's the first one, that is very meta because it means a 4th wall break. We are the ones writing scp stories and our writing in this dimension actually creates them in an imaginary world and that world is scp universe. Imagine how terrifying it would be if we too learned that our world is created in the mind of some other being and that is why there isn't a single narrative and no objective purpose in life. Interesting stuff.

Congrats on your degree! I come out on tests as INTJ, so I might be INTJ, some video's made it less of a doubt for me. I am a thinker, though have my regular boosts of emotions, they can be triggered by imagined scenario's of me playing the cello or flying on a imagined dragon through my own inner wonderland. I am a clinical psychologist, and what I lately had to admit is that I am not a psychologist for the sake of helping people in a direct way, that is not what does it for me, but for wanting to make people maybe understand more about themselves and about the way the world works and how they perceive it. More theoretical psychology. It is indeed a highly abstract form of science. I do not really like to be a therapist. People interest me because they are a system, with a brain. I do not actually like people, or being around them. I enjoy being in my inner worlds more than in real life. I like that mystery vibe which you describe, in stories, movies, games. I am a problem solver, but do it indeed not with pure logic reasoning, but with thinking, in images. I love outwitting someone, preferably men. I am in a chess club, and you should see some faces when I mention that. I love it. I love strategic games, that leave so many options open. I study Jungian Analytical psychology, and love the Archetypal in his works, I love the dreamwork, the work with narratives and symbolism and fairy tales. I love the hero myth,...Jung really was a genius.

Yes, I can say that due to us sharing the same type and the same sub-type (stronger Ni and Fi) you're spot on about our general interests. Also your take on how the INTJ's Ni plays out scenarios is accurate. However, the INTJ's Ni will differ from the INFJ's Ni. The INTJ will more often play out scenarios to minimize the bad, while the INFJ will more often play out scenarios to maximize the good. Therefore, the INTJ's Ni is negative and the INJF's Ni is positive. This also helps to differentiate the two Ni doms. This characteristic/behaviorism is similar with the types that share the same dominate function. Great video.

It's more of each person preferences tbh. Either that person see it through negativity lens, or positivity. But both are beneficial, it's different than pessimistic/optimistic though. Seeing things through negative lens makes you prepared for the worst & aware of deception, but you'll need positivity to balance it out. While positive lens able to be more productive and assertive. It's only a matter of how one person see the world, really. Not those stupid stereotype of foolish optimistic nor paranoid pessimistic.

Wow, your videos are unbelievably interesting for intj types. I mean you go directly to the point and you raise intricate things that are not tackled in mbti videos. I also had a BA in psychology (clinical psychology)and it was great time until I started doubting its efficacy and reliability. Then, I moved to literature and I took a second BA. It was also interesting for me and I spent great time studying them. Now, Im studying marketing and it appears to be equally interesting 🤣. I am big fan of animes. But, my fav genres differ little bit I prefer realism, mystery and slice of life. Fantasy kinda put me off because I feel it does not add much to me (unless I relate it with jung psychology). History is also a big interest of mine and I do not know why it I find a great pleasure in discovering patterns that repeat themselves until today. Another thing that stimulate my brain cells is art and creativity. I really believe that intjs urge to imagine and solve problems is betterq satisfied when it become applicable in real life and when they can see their creation. Thank you so much for sharing your thoughts and analysis, please don't stop with your creative content!

Tarot cards are something that helps me as an INTJ sometimes. The images represent archetypal scenarios and/or people. When you ask yourself an open ended question and then use a spread, it’s like creating a “mold” to pour your unconscious into. They can’t tell you something you don’t already know, but if the knowledge is only at an instinctual level (intuition), I find it helps articulating and bringing said knowledge into the conscious.

Let me answer the Ne (+Ti) appeal of D&D as someone that has been obsessed with TTRPGs since 6th grade: THE POSSIBLITIES! THEY'RE ENDLESS! You can do LITERALLY anything! TTRPGs use the most advanced OS: The human brain. I wish I was more interested in being a DM but think I'm too introverted to handle chaotic players well... yet I LOVE being those players that throws the DM off with novel ideas. I'll find that I tend to both propose an 'out of rulebook' idea and invent a rule (Or rule precedent) to execute that and see if the DM agrees. That unpredictability but with an underlying foundation is what I love. The discussion around a table where 2-5 people have to evaluate: A) What to do B) How to do it C) How they feel about it and D) How their character would feel about it is just SO much data. I love it. I actually find the playing of TTRPGs a little LESS exciting than just imagining what COULD happen while playing a TTRPG, because it's basically anything. I have tons of RPG books that I read cover to cover and never feel any 'real' pull to play because the hundreds of games and scenarios I've played out in my head while remixing all the rules and themes while reading are kinda... better. I've developed Fe more now and find more value in bringing people together, at least. Plus for Ti there's the phrase that I think getting exposed to D&D early in life inspired in me: The simulation proves reality. TTRPGs and any simulation game of any kind REALLY helps me to understand reality by constructing a model. Show me two randos (Before I learned MBTI) and I have no idea what they might do, be like, think, or say. But show me a ranger and a barbarian and I have millions of ideas about those people and their interactions with eath other and their enviroment.=. This is actually, in a way, why I know I don't have Ni. I don't "spring forth" with archetypes, but I obsessively 'collect', systemically organize, and expand upon them, when it comes to people OR reality. The rules of D&D 3.5 were so simulationist that I STILL refer back to that game set to understand things like physics or anthropology. I see skill ranks, feats, classes and die rolls in people to this day, some ~20 years later. The Sims had a similar foundational "simulation to prove reality" effect on me and I still need a model/system to even understand myself. If it wasn't for The Sims having 8 or w/e little 'need' bars, I have no idea how well I'd take care of myself without that model. Awesome video!

Congrats on your degree!! The interests you describe in the video are much like mine (INTJ lady). I love psychology and abnormal psychology too. I'm not much of a TV watcher but the shows I do watch are shows like 'Criminal Minds" and other true crime shows. Very few TV shows and movies hold my interest because I can figure them out within the first 10 minutes. My imagination is so incredible and I love drawing things out of it. That happens a lot when my conscious mind is distracted with some mundane thing in the material world. My central interest is in spiritual things and I have learned to meditate over the years. It is an area that allows for a lot of exploration. Many fascinating things have occurred to me during these times. My main problem is dealing the material world. Most people in my life are Sensors and they are hard for me to communicate with. I can't really tell them about the incredible sh!t I think about. It's rather lonely for me but it is something that will continue on. I love being an INTJ, especially an Ni, but it isolates you. I feel lucky that I can contact my subconscious and the collective unconscious and learn things. It truly is a gift, even if I can't share what I've learned. It's OK, though. Working in industry quite successfully now on innovation aspects, but I find the work environment less fulfilling since R&D is more and more becoming neglected, and customer interaction and business/sales is not my thing at all (which is now needed to move up). I try to get into a teaching position on the side which I know I will enjoy. Hardest thing to do for me as INTJ professionally: the networking/connection stuff. I think this is where I am weakest and which likely has taken away potential opportunities for me in the past. Hobby-wise, I was into video games which would be seen pre-historic compared to today's standards but haven't touched any since > 15 years. I fully changed my interest to the creative side in photography where I constantly create/build/change /adapt things with the intent to do things differently from the mass. Love to this day fantasy novels and movies with Tolkien being my favorite author. I played Dungeons&Dragons once or twice with friends, but unfortunately currently I have no friends who are into this to play with.

Just found you and I wish I had found your vids earlier. One thing: I get caught up in your video and it's over way too soon! I'm always surprised when you end it 😂 Anyway, thank you for your insight and how you describe the topics. My INTJ soul feels seen and heard by you lol It's like finding someone who speaks your native language 😁

I liked (and related with) what you mentioned about Se. All the INTJs I met, myself included, have some type of Se hobby, some love sports or crafts or cooking, and some type of Se vice, some drink too much, or eat too much, or smoke too much. All my hobbies are very Se, I build and repair all sorts of things, draw, sew, and have been learning guitar in recent months. I could easily be mistaken for an ISTP if someone only saw my hobby times. But all these things are just a way to relax, I could never picture myself working with my hands 24/7 as a career, the passion/interest is never that strong.

Definitely relate to so much of this and so many of your videos - it’s so nice to feel understood and see a fellow INTJ unpacking things that I see in myself! I also play DnD, and I find I connect more with the story aspects of it than the mechanics and combat. Perhaps that’s the Ni coming out and the lack of Ti?

As an INTJ, my main life-long interest has and always will be Batman. To me, Bruce, his fundamental beliefs and his psyche are truly fascinating and insightful. No matter how dark a Batman story could get, we could all count that in the end he’s still a good person that we could aspire to be. To me, Batman is about knowing that something is impossible but trying your best to do it anyway because it could do some good for some people. Looking the inevitable in the eyes and going on your own way in your own terms. INTJs want to improve the world, and that’s what Batman does. So, of course I’d love Batman.

The daydreaming is huge for me as well, I'm pretty confident I'm an intj but I've got an inkling thought that I'd need to be sure... Any other types that's susceptible to daydreaming and getting lost in their thoughts and imagery, so much so that hours can fly by and work wouldn't get done?

All of the intuitive dominant types are prone to it. INxJs and ENxPs. Although intuitive secondary types experience it to some degree as well. Thanks for watching!

I'm an ENFP and my scenarios are normally positive past experiences, like when I told a really funny joke and everyone lol'd. Or the daydreams could also be looking forward to a future scenario that likely will happen, where I am telling friends a story or explaining something interesting. But I will make the facial expressions and actually quietly give my little speech at a very low volume. My kids are always like, "Who are you talking to?" 😂😂

I love gravity falls as an intj. Every single thing within this video was so accurate for me personally. I spend the majority of my time within my head, imagining/daydreaming. Very interesting :)

Congrats on your qualification! I also see videogames as a release of sorts - there must be an Ni-Ti attachment to it (e.g. I love creating 'builds' and individualised playstyles on games such as Grim Dawn and oldschool RPGs) but this all tends to be constructed atop a Se-Fe immersive foundation. I also can't stand generic puzzles and tests - I've went through phases pushing my aptitude in these areas but I've never found them remotely enjoyable!

According to the video games: I am also an INTJ and I love to compete, I just simply love it. :) Because of this, I really like to play first person shooters, but not the ones like CoD where the skill plays the biggest role, but something more tactical, like a battle royale game. My personal favourite is PUBG, because it has the perfect combination of action and tactics - at least the perfect mixture for me.

I love tasty junk food as well. I can eat whole bag of potato chips or pizza all by myself no problem. I always had potato chip problem and absolutely love pizza. Pizza is my favourite food. I also run what if scenarios and daydreaming all the time.

First of all, congratulations on the degree! 👍🏻👨🎓 Thinking of your Masters? I guess I should spell it Ma$ter$. Cause it takes $ to get one these days. Regarding this video, as an INFJ, (because we share parts of the same stack), I find that I use scenarios in my thinking too. Playing over and over the simulations in my head of future events and possibilities of actions by others in my world. Like you said, the Ni is usually wrong, but I keep doing it. 😄 I find that learning is more rewarding to me now than movies and novels. I watch lots of KZbin channels on the MBTI, like yours, but also science like Manned space flight, astronomy, meteorology, even some history, filming locations, and science discovery type documentaries. I’m thinking that the Ti is needing to be fed. I stray away from too much human drama in media, cause my Fe goes off like an alarm bell. 😂 A quick question that you might be able to answer, do INFJs and INTJs struggle with external sensory overload? The Se factor, maybe? I left a job recently where I was nearly constantly overhearing idle chit-chat by all my other coworkers around me and could not ignore it or tune it out. Not that it was interesting, but I was almost locked into a state that I was aware of everything around me that was audible, and it interfered with my dull accounting work. 😖 I even got Bluetooth headphones to help drown it out. Yeah, that bad. Cheers, Jeff.

Hey there, thanks! I'm actually working with a professor and doing some research this year. Hoping to skip my masters and get into a PH.D program next year, clinical psychology. I have a video on repressed Se for INTJs and INFJs, I think it might awnser your question in detail. Thanks for watching!

What the hell, you so similar to me. When you said you were into fantasy, I thought to myself, this guy would probably like DnD, and then you mentioned DnD... It's so wierd hearing someone explaining why you like something. I've never really thought about why I like certain things, but everything you said just fits with me aswell. I thought about studying psychology or philosophy since I enjoy both subjects, but I couldn't think of a way I would want to make money with that type of education, so I went with economics. I'm almost done with my bachelor's, but I feel more drawn to psychology now then ever. I think I would enjoy a position where I could interact with psychology without being a therapist. Interrogation, or work in an psychiatric asylum maybe. Well, I started writing to myself here mostly. What I was going to say was, I enjoyed your video.

That's totally me. I love fantasy and don't care as much about modern books or games. I play Monster Hunter and Fire Emblem btw. I use games as a way to relax and I like to think of ways to make them better. Food is nice I guess but I'm not crazy about it. I love to write, draw and paint and I'm currently practicing the piano because I just love good music that gets my imagination going. Loved the video. -INTJ

What do you like to draw or paint? Concretely or abstractly? What music do you like?
@dhisufiroafrozenseraphimdragon4 жыл бұрын
@@t5396 I'm more concrete. I have a story and so I draw my characters and creatures and I also write about them. I'm still an amateur at painting so I've been looking at tutorials online on how to paint stuff like trees, the moon, the sky etc. I like many kinds of music but I tend to listen to game music the most. Both Monster Hunter and Fire Emblem have really good music. I also like the band called Evanescence. Epic music gets my imagination going wild. That's why I want to learn the piano and the violin (two of my favorite instruments) so I can make my own music.

@@dhisufiroafrozenseraphimdragon there aren't a terrible number of INTJ musicians out there. Trent Reznor's early work is very good and to me it's interesting how his lyrics sound almost as though I could have wrote them myself because we have the same type and interaction style.

the thing that is happening to me is that i feel like things are more interesting in my mind than in real life like thinking about something is better than experiencing it for me especially if its related to another person
