Comment by someone who managed to get higher AdobeRGB readings: "The factory settings preset Adobe RGB are not 100% correct. This means that the result is not 100% either. The factory settings are over 7000K instead of 6500K, only 150 nits instead of 160 nits and the gamma of 2.2 is also not 100% correct. This makes it clear that the result is not 100%. If the correct settings are made, the monitor should achieve 99% Adobe RGB. The same applies to DCI-P3 (approx. 95-99%). If Adobe RGB is used, DCI-P3 cannot be used (due to other settings), it must then be switched to DCI-P3. Hope this information can help."

Thank you - this is what I have been waiting for a long time! Presently I can switch between a Windows desktop and a mac Mini M1 as you do here but I didn't want the Studio Display as it was difficult to use with Windows and expensive due to many features I don't require such as audio. I hope other manufacturers also start to produce 5k monitors.

Why brands don’t invest is real differentiated industrial design is beyond me. Would it be that hard to offer a real attractive alternative to what Apple is selling? I know it’s a niche market but even so… Anyway a welcome addition to a very small market.

Mac OS works well with integer scaling.. That's the reason why Apple sells 5K monitor (with integer scaling it gives you a work space area of 2560x1440 while maintaining the sharpness of 5K 218 ppi).

12:12 Would you rather have: 1. A better monitor spec for the same price (higher refresh rate, bigger screen, OLED etc.) but deal with a non-Apple resolution and use software fixes, or 2. Have hardware that is considered "Retina" resolution by Apple but not have other nice to haves? I'm stuck making this decision so I'd love to hear from you.

Go with option 1 because as long as you get a display that has 4K up to 27-inch, you get use BetterDisplay app to get perfect UI scaling even if MacOS cannot. This ASUS is actually the best blend of two options.

What is the purpose of the different built in color modes, especially when you calibrate it anyway again? Also do you calibrate your display differently when creating stuff for print (Adobe RGB) or screen (sRGB)?
