I would actually consider buying this if it was full carbon fiber like you said and smaller (mostly shorter). Something like Pulsar X2 Mini shape size. It would also be cool if they included some different dot skate materials in the box as well. PTFE dots, Hardened PTFE dots, and UHMW-PE dot skates for glass pads. Maybe even an included ASUS ROG branded sleeve. That way you can give people stuff that works on glass pads and normal cloth pads. Adding small stuff like that would add to the perceived value a lot. If they did that kind of stuff and maybe refined the bottom portion of the mouse a bit more like the buttons/switches, on-board small lightweight light indicators to see what features you are changing on the mouse, less cheap looking sticker on the bottom of the mouse, and less angular mouse skate design it would look so sick. $250-$300 I could actually see it being a banger of a mouse release with a lot of hype around it. The way it is now, I just don't think it's enough to do much of anything.

I would love to have a carbon fiber shell for my OP1 8K, it would look very sexy. I know several guys that can do it are modmouze, Flick Shot, and Wang Seven. I just have to wait until any of them release a model for the OP1 8K.

You're in luck. Wlmouse recently announced the Ying, which has the same/similar shape of the op1 while weighing in the low 30 gram range. Although, it's made of forged carbon instead of carbon fiber

Heck yeah. Asus is making some interesting gear lately with the Extreme version of their ROG Azoth keyboard and now this Extreme version of their ROG Harpe Ace mouse. I think the prices are pretty crazy, but then again it's obviously not meant for the average gamer who can't afford it. To me, these seem more like a luxury line of gaming peripherals that have a premium look and feel to them. It's not for everybody, but that's why there are so many options. Love to see innovation in this space, and I'm curious if more big brands will also start to make a high-end line as well.

I think the tactic here is that they are trying to get into the more enthusiast market so that they bring their name up more in buying the normal versions of mice they make. You almost never hear people recommending any thing ASUS ROG related for gaming mice these days. And that's probably why this exists.

The ROG Harpe is $70 on Amazon now. Is that basically the same mouse minus the case and carbon fiber?
@TylerMatty2 ай бұрын
For me, its not that the Harpe Ace is too large, but the back hump is just too long for me. The shape to me feels like if you grabbed a G Pro and was able to stretch it out a few millimeters, you got the Harpe Ace.

I knew you would probably like this mouse lol. Looking at the dimensions, it's even longer than the viper v3 pro. And that mouse was already pretty much as large as I would want to go. I can't imagine an even longer version of that would feel great in the hand for me. But yeah if you like larger mice then this is probably great. I just gotta have that extra finger tip micro adjusting room behind my palm or I get annoyed by the mouse sadly. Looks great though and would love to try it some day

Giving the mouse half carbon fibre and then the other half plastic is honestly disappointing. That’s essentially trying to appeal to the whole carbon fibre mice trend - as an attempt to justify the price tag - while giving you only half of the cf material.
