Just FYI, a 1/4-20 thread standoff will also work for raising a camera on the top of the mount. Bonus factoid: the finials on top of lamps is the same thread. If you ever need to temporarily secure a camera, and don't have a tripod: remove finial, install camera.

Between this and the LG39GS95QE (same panel display), I do appreciate the LG's stand ergonomics, it makes room for placing "stuff" under the monitor much more accessible and can push it further back towards the wall as I have a 60x24 inch adjustable hight desk. I am an Asus fan, really wanted to go with this but unfortunately the base stand was a deal breaker for me...

34 is the same height as a 27, 39 is the same height as a 32 inch. 39 is very nice in person. I have the LG 34 it's awesome.

I have a 1800R curve 34" ultrawide. I had a 1200R before, which was too curved. 1800R is great. Make sure you can live with the extreme curvature before buying.

Hi Shannon. Fan since Hak5 days. Did you need to calibrate the monitor for color right out of box? Thx

That monitor looks so awesome. I'm just worried I would need a new desk to support it. Haha.

The screen is actually lighter as my 27-inch 4K LG display from 2017 ;-) Well, without the footstand (i didn't check that out).

Checked out the price and was absolutely shocked by how cheap this monitor is compared to other 240Hz screens. I still prefer using multiple 165Hz monitors that cost less and can easily be upgraded, but for those with a little extra money to spend, this is an amazing recommendation.

thanks for reviewing this monitor. curious: how's the HDR look on it? I'm wondering if it can serve as a nice movie display as well.
@ASUSUSA6 ай бұрын
Great monitor for HDR due to OLED panel and high brightness ideally for HDR content ( gaming, video ) you want increased contrast, and high brightness. This excels in both respects. Keep in mind though though you do need to toggle between the two as desktop environment is SDR not HDR. Otherwise a great choice for HDR. Hope this helps.

@@ASUSUSA I do still have the issue (i'm owning this monitor since a few days) that the colors are a bit "flat" / less punchy in HDR mode, would love to see the racing profile color setting in combination with HDR. Have to look into it, but i don't think that's possible atm.

Though this $1,100 monitor looks like a behemoth, it looks more like a Ferrari/Lamborghini class thing on the market due to its spectacular specs. Even business use while not gaming should always handle these gentle giants with proper care.

I'm interested in how the screen functions when editing documents, both in terms of the fact that it's oled and because of the curvature? I personally use the computer only for gaming, but others at home use it for editing documents, and making a system for the school... Also- love your content!

My cat has peed on my screen and now it's getting worse every day. I want to replace it by an oled screen, but i have few needs. Totally flat screen, so when he will do it again, all the liquid will fall on the desktop, not going inside the screen. Can you confirm the screen is flat ? And pdp (i don't need kvm, i have an external kvm). My setup is gaming computer on dp. Working computers on hdmi / usbc. Is it easy to switch back and forth from theses 2 configurations ?

I bought a new monitor and didn't pay attention to the dimensions. I was just like "ooga booga, need new monitor, 1440p, over 144hz, click order" Two days later I get a 34" behemoth in the mail. It's taking me some getting used to.

It's amazing how relentlessly alienating all the model numbers are for every monitor from every company, like there's no way you could remember that off the top of your head and recommend it to a friend without a script in front of you, but they don't care, and haven't cared for decades. I guess this is how you get to act when everyone has to go through you to enjoy their $800 GPU. You'll buy alphabet soup and like it.

You said you are still running Windows 10, if you're not a Mac fan, you might be disappointed with Windows 11. From the start menu to the settings app, they seem to be trying to make Windows 11 look closer to Mac OS. Linux has a lot more support for games and graphics cards now.
