Finally: something tailored for Fibromyalgics. Now if we could just cure the disabling, severe fatigue.

Hi there!!! I’m not sure how much it would help but I have sickle cell disease. Excruciating bone pain due to our RBC’s getting clumped together, inevitably causing blockages, deoxygenation, whole body organ damage and incessant fatigue yet insomnia from the pain makes me feel I can relate to fibromyalgia suffers a lot. I’m also an RN, my health has been HELL particularly since losing my fiancé to covid during the initial wave. As I’m sure all of us know, stress just makes the suffering endure even more daunting in ways other folks with decent health will never understand. I won’t even begin to touch on the mental, emotional and spiritual pain and trials we live with every single day and how it effects those we love most greatly so what I WILL say is that I got fed up after having my EIGHTH (yes, 8th!!! week long hospitalization this year (I was also diagnosed with congestive heart failure one year after losing my angel to the virus, they say it’s from my own asymptomatic bout of covid but I truly believe it’s broken heart syndrome). My quality of life has never been worse and the other days I got fed up and told myself THIS IS NOT ME, I am tired of all these pharmaceuticals, meds to cover side effects to side effects, countless procedures and the absolute IMPOSSIBILITY of being able to work or even make dinner for earthbound angel of a daughter. So I decided a few days ago that I’m taking my power back and I’ve been trying to ride this mental wave of internal tenacity as long as my physicality will allow. I’ve been doing research that’s both pertinent to my illness(es) specifically and for chronic pain sufferers in general and thus far I’ve implemented a few modalities that I’m praying will help improve my quality of life so that I can thrive instead of just trying to survive the suffering every day. From what I’ve looked into, it seems Wildcrafted Sea Moss is a superfood that can help with a lot of the deficiencies in the body ghat lead to that awful brain fog and nagging fatigue even when you’ve slept half the day away. I’m not here to promote anything but I invested in some after one of my nurse friends (that also has sickle cell - I really don’t know how we do it but for the grace of The Most High God) as he said it’s changed his LIFE. So I’m gonna start supplementing it today and I’d be more than happy to connect with you and let you know if and prayerfully…HOW it’s helped both my 8/10 on the pain scale of “non-subjective stupidity) 🙄😂. A “10” to regular folks is a great day and a “3” to those of us whose bodies are ALWAYS on high alert and in a constant inflammatory state. If I come across anything else I feel could help you and the fibromyalgia community, I’d be then happy to report back when I do. Praying you have better days, much love to you!! ♥️✨

It’s not so much the pain, it’s the brain fog that does not help trying to talk yourself into exercising. These are some nice exercises to start. Definitely will try them.

Thank you so much for these, I've been doing something similar like these for years now, yes they don't take away the fibromyalgia but some of the time or most of the time I can get through the day with less pain. Don't get me wrong there are days when I do them and nothing beats the pain or doing them makes it worse, but I tried, then I know it's going to be a difficult day and take care of myself accordingly physical pain, emotional pain or both. Hope you can make some more sitting down or using a chair. Been scouring youtube to find anything that helps.

I tried exercising, even tried going to the gym for gentle exercise, I ended up in the sofa resting for x amount of days. I now try and do short walks but I'm also going through my change so my weight won't shift off and I can't seem to control it through food sadly. I'll keep trying.

Hey Kerrie, long time fibro sufferer here. I found eating healthy fats and no refined sugars and low carbs really good for inflammation. SO, it's keto way of eating. Running on fat as fuel, the keytones in your body get rid of inflammation. Go to The Diet Doctor website, look at their list of Low carb healthy fat functional medicine doctors and see one of them. This sports chick is clueless about fibro pain, not all pain is the same and we know, 'pushing through it,' is the worse advice ever...as if comparing hip pain to fibro is smart, no it's not the same! Good Luck!

Plz inform me that how many times I prefer this exercise in initial stage??? I have extreme pain weakness now a days... I have been suffering from fibromylgia from last 26 years....I am now 42 years of age....Plz reply me as soon as possible 🙂🙂

I would think that you could do them as many times as you feel comfortable with. Once a day is good, but maybe 3 times a day if you can manage it, would be even better. I will certainly start doing them at least once a day, every morning after waking up now. It will most likely make getting out of bed much easier. :)

thank you, I skip the thigh slide this is really too much doing it in the morning. I suggest people not doing exercise as soon as they wake up and not do it at empty stomach. I usually do exercise after lunch, before my muscles are too stiff and I am going to be sick for days if I attempt to do exercise with stiff muscle

Soak in Epsom salts for 20 minutes before you stretch!
@silkrush4 жыл бұрын
I wouldn't consider this as exercise, but more like gentle stretches. I tend to do only as much as I can do, and of course, you can do whatever you feel comfortable with and doesn't hurt too much, and skip the stretches that hurt, or do less of them. I also have rheumatoid arthritis on top of fibro, and I find the arm exercises / stretches the most painful and challenging, but I just try to do at least some of them. It's better than nothing. :)

The two first and last exercises are ok for me. The one about hip opening and closing is already impossible for me. I'm only 28yo, and I've almost no lateral mobility in my hips, which impacts the way I sit or squat; doing rotations is also very hard for daily activities (cleaning up, tidying the bed, etc.) As for the knee slides, since it involves activating the lower core muscles, that's another nope for me. I'm not overweight per se (200 lb for 5,9 ft), but each time I activate my core for simple ab exercises (bridges or crunches), my lungs are blocked just by putting my core in use, which prevents me from breathing throughout the movements. I don't know if that bad reflex is due to bad coordination or a wrong innate reaction. Any tips and advices is welcome. Thanks in advance.

It’s everything that makes fibromyalgia and if I work out I’m Then bed ridden for days
@joytotheworld68043 жыл бұрын
Yeah, she's giving out bad advice and is clueless...not all pain is the same, certainly not the same as hip replacements, listen to your body.
@sindhuvarma12603 жыл бұрын
Yes if we do as they do our pain will be severe .just start with small no.they did 8 times each .do only 3 times each don't do all on the first day. Take 3 from them and do it 3 times each daily once. Second or third day do 5 times each then slowly go for eight times. After a week do the whole thing twice or thrice a day as per your comfort.

If i even do that or do a walk i regret it as the pain is worse. I have dislocations so i pass. I think i stick to pain meds. Thats too much for me. I wouldn't do that with severe fibromyalgia. Even my doctor try and keep active. Its too much. I sleep sitting up at a angle and my muscles are weak and they go tired and floppy very quickly. I sit alot with my legs crossed.

Fibromyalgia is nothing like having a hip replacement. So fibro patients brains don't register pain the same way. Also, it's helpful to just do something to get your lymphatics circulating, before any sort of exercising. This helps alot. I do very gentle bounces on my rebounder.You could sit in a chair and put your feet on it and gently move them. Do for ten seconds, and gradually build up, if you can. Otherwise, don't listen to, 'experts,' who think all pain is the same, this sports chick is clueless. Don't ignore pain flares, and exercise, you will feel worse, such crappy advice
